And apologies as I actually cut off the name of whoever posted the list originally so can't acknowledge their hard work!

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 17/09/2018 08:02

Thanks floof! I'll copy it over to the other thread.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 17/09/2018 08:09

Oh! Except I can't copy it or save it. Am having a technophobe moment, why won't it let me?

It's the Jo Malone being over-rated thread in AIBU if you could manage to pop it onto the thread Floof.

MrsLucas · 17/09/2018 09:20

Morning All. SotD is Y. Having my own technical challenges. Keep hiding you all by accidentSad.

MrsLucas · 17/09/2018 10:14

Biblio and Baudelaire on TK Maxx site now Judy.
Plus Arabie, JdeP and Fidji, Tuscan Leather and a Shalimar hair mistSmile

teta · 17/09/2018 10:25

I keep in doing that too as well Mrslucas. And even though I’m not on any colours my posts keep on coming up as pink 🙄.
Sotd is Cristalle as it’s muggy here and I felt like something a bit cool and chilly. I listed several perfumes on eBay last night. With one being a new bottle of Violetta. Then saw the tremendous prices it’s being sold at Shock. I also listed a couple of Jo Malones as I know they sell well. But then someone offered me less than the starting bidding price. Why do people do that? Especially when the price is set pretty low to begin with. It’s very puzzling.

PlausibleSuit · 17/09/2018 13:37

Greetings again all. I've been away for a bit due to holibobs, illness and work but slipping back into a scented place again now.

Over the summer I stocked up a bit... managed to pick up Pharrell Williams Girl, Mary Greenwell Cherry, YSL La Nuit de l'Homme and SJP Stash on the cheapy-cheap. Also was given Tom Ford For Men and L'Occitane Eau de L'Occitan by a well-wisher.

I had a little test of TF Fucking Fabulous last week. Goodness me. I did not like it. Very sweet; to me it smelled like Love Hearts and candied almonds. After an hour or so it settled slightly but still not nice. And in another two it was gone.

SOTD is Next Urban Elements Stone, which is apparently a dupe of Dior Sauvage. The shop assistant plopped 30ml mini bottles of Stone and Marble into my bag last week because I bought 20 t-shirts. Confused It's OK, maybe a bit butch for me (same goes for Sauvage, incidentally).

mrsR your parcel has been mailed, i sent it first class so it might come tomorrow.

SOTD is the PP dupe for LUSh Death and Decay. I LOVE it. white flowers, vegetal in the background, sweet but not sickly. yeah i do love it, i'll be getting a bigger bottle i think especially since lush have discontinued it!

OutComeTheWolves · 17/09/2018 14:31

@PlausibleSuit what did you think of MG cherry?
It seems so much more expensive on eBay than lemon and plum so I was wondering if it was worth the splurge.

PlausibleSuit · 17/09/2018 15:50

Yes MrsR they have some quite nice ones. There's one in a red bottle I thought was OK. I'm less keen on their home scents; I bought a reed diffuser and it didn't last. Almost as expensive as a White Company one as well.

@OutComeTheWolves I quite like it. I think it was discussed here a thread or so back. It's more like those little dark cherries and cherry blossom than glacé cherries. It's quite dainty. That said, it's a like not a love for me and I'm not sure I'd pay fortunes for it - I got mine for an absolute steal; about £13 for 50ml at The Fragrance Shop online (I had a 15% discount). They have Mary Greenwell stuff turn up every so often; I have Lemon, Fire and Cherry now and I haven't paid more than £17 for any of them.

Apparently this thread is fantastic for helping people out re dupes for expensive perfumes.
I can't afford Chanel Jersey. It's one of the Les Exclusifs.
I have champagne taste on a beer budget Sad
Is there something similar available from Perfume Parlour ?

They do a few of the exclusifs- I have PP Sycomore, but I don't think they do many.

beanaseireann · 17/09/2018 19:41

Thank you

beanaseireann · 17/09/2018 19:42

Is the Chanel No 5 dupe good ?

Judydreamsofhorses · 17/09/2018 19:44

SOTD MMM Sunday. Wishful thinking. In sharp contrast to everyone being super organised. mrsR I haven’t even done your decant, her mind posting it. It’s on the list.

Can someone talk to me about Dior Hypnotic Poison? I think I just need to accept the fact that I adore a good vanilla, and apparently this is a must for all vanilla-heads (according to both I Scent You A Day and the Candy Perfume Boy).

Does anyone here have it? Is it worth investing in?

MrsLucas · 17/09/2018 19:58

Bean think the best No.5 dupe is L'Aimant?

Can't help you on Hypnotic Poison Fennel but have just bought vintage Poison scarf.😀

cantbelievemyeyes · 17/09/2018 20:10

I'm wearing a sample of Clive Christian Rock Rose today. Pleasant enough but £350 for 50ml?! Nope.

Hello all. I've wandered over from my thread asking for cheap perfume suggestions.

Feel a bit intimidated to make such a vulgar request really, as I'd assumed you all wore Clive Christiansen Grin

Anyhow, if anyone can suggest some nice scents which are affordable I'd be hugely grateful.

I'm especially interested in 'classic' type scents that perhaps are no longer fashionable (therefore are now less ££) such as Elizabeth Arden green tea. I was surprised the other day to see this is about £12. In my 'yoof' it was way more.
