Byredo fans - there's a gorgeous 3x12ml set on TK Maxx website today (but I think you'll need to be quick).

Also MH Lumiere Doree and Mark Jacobs Cucumber.

Hi everyone.
I’ve been pretty much absent from the perfume thread for a while. Due to utter boredom with summery smells. Now I’m back from holiday, it’s cold and it’s time for Pure Distance Antonia. One sleeve smells rather horribly of the new Ralph Lauren perfume which I had high hopes for. But no it smells genetically sweet and fruity like all the others. MrsLucas i love Grand Amour. You’ve reminded me I have a sample somewhere and must dig it out.

Those sounds like good things to smell of Mrsr8.

.

The vintage Pino Silvestre is proper old fashioned aftershave. So to give it a fair trial I decided to slap some on my chops this morning Grin. Got some funny looks on the school run - but that might just have been my age inappropriate jeans Grin Grin. Nice to be too old to care Wink.

Now trying to work our what Fairy Liquid smells of....

ThenCameTheFools · 07/09/2018 14:12

Wotcha.

Am also finally back. Lost my mojo completely over the summer, but aiming to get back in the scented saddle sharpish.

Still alternating between Eau d'Hadrien and Infusions d'Iris though. Safe and just bloody nice. Didn't even buy anything at Duty Free. Dd hovered between Dior Joy (which smells like one of the Chances) Prada Infusions almondy one (they didn't have it) Twilly (this always surprises me, I really like the opening, then after an hour, I go eueeeew) but plumped for Cool Water in the end. Could have been worse, as she was liking a lot of those pink Prada mingy ones.

Will catch up properly idc.

Fools - good to have you back.

My Or Black has arrived and I am thrilled. This is the 2014 version but it is just marvelous and I will sleep soundly tonight knowing I have a FB. Grin

Truly difficult to describe: it's often categorised as a leather chypre, but it has darkly green floral notes, as well as medicinal/aromatic ones (honey Tunes, only better). People describe it as smoky, but it has the clarity of a smoked tea, rather than anything more fuggy or bonfire-like. Oh, and it is almost boozy.

Overall it's invigorating/energising, but in a dark way, although with a much lighter harmonic singing out over the top. It says Pour Homme on the box - but actually it's pretty unisex. (There is a feminine counterpart - Or Noir. Has anyone tried?).

If you see one in TK Maxx at the £16 mark buy it on sight! If you don't like it, please give me first refusal. I plan to stockpile. I will never get fed up of smelling this. Grin

SOTD was Byredo Gypsy Water. Had a bath after work, and now in Caldey Island Lavender, but have also just opened my parcel from lovely floofy and have a wee squirt of MG Fire on the back of my hand. Thank you so much!

mrsR I bought mine from Fabled, and they do 15% off your first order which made it more palatable.

floofy thank you v much for the plum decant, i love it! must track down a large bottle as I can see me wearing it a lot!

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 08/09/2018 09:52

Trying out new namechange.

I tried to have PIAM (just the initials) and it told me it was already in use. Humph.

It's me anyway, PIAM/fools Grin

FluffyHairedFloofyCat · 08/09/2018 10:23

Welcome back MIA Perfumistas!

Glad the decants turned up safely one and Judy - if you do like them, the FBs turn up on eBay regularly, Plum is only about £25 for BNIB 50ml I think and Fire a little more. Bargainous, IMO.

Not decided properly on SOTD yet, I popped some PP Dove (Dov Grin) on while I lounge around in bed watching Saturday Kitchen and decide on the real SOTD. Matt Goss has aged well!

Hi Floof (and everyone else) I forgot- even though have lost my mojo somewhat- Paris-Deauville is wonderful- the other two Chanel noobs are nice enough, in a typically understated, classy Chanel way, but PD smells like Ms Malone and all the other pretenders would like to have made it.

XingMing · 08/09/2018 14:41

Another MIA, who has had a dull perfume season. The love has not quite returned yet and SoTD (Creed Santal) is doing nothing to inspire love.

It's always easier in cooler weather, so I've been sticking to the lighter end of my collection. PP Infusions d'Iris has featured most.

Hello Perfumistas!

SOTD is White Queen, which I don’t mind. Had a free sample of Scenthusiasm, which I didn’t like at all.

I used to wear Pino Silvester in my youth...

MrsLucas · 08/09/2018 17:54

Have been avoiding White Queen in the heat of the summer, but it feels about right now.

Do you get the Fairy Liquid/Pino Silvester comparison MrsS? Have been researching the smell of Fairy Liquid, which is apparently scented with pine resin (synthetic?) amongst other things.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/09/2018 18:22

adora when you see this, drop me a pm with your address and i'll send you on those bits i was talking about! can't have a perfumista with no perfumes and it's me repaying the kindness i've had from other posters on the perfume threads Smile
