Sounds horrid Mrs8 hope it’s resolved soon.

Nicked a squirt of DD’s Jardin Sur de Nil today. Not sure.

SOTD is 4160 Who Knew. I'm besotted with this scent. I love me a dusky, smokey rose (this sits alongside JM velvet Rose & oud, and Phaedon Rouge Avignon for me), and this is a recent discovery. I seem to be drawn to it most days at the moment.

MrsLucas · 31/08/2018 14:18

Sounds like we have similar taste in 4160Ts Pots! I wonder what SotW will be this week?

I'm fragrance-free so far today in the hope that my latest ebay find (a half-full bottle of Jicky) turns up in the post.

Off-topic, but feeling very pleased to have finally resolved the saga of my faulty TV. Perhaps not John Lewis' finest four months hour, but they came good in the end. I finally got to speak to a member of the customer services team who recognised the sound of truly desperate mother, thereby sparing themselves a sit-in with my kids in their electrical dept yesterday afternoon. (Which would've been less an escalation and more a tactic to sate DS's cravings). For the first time this holiday, the house is lovely and quiet. Wink.

Judydreamsofhorses · 31/08/2018 20:34

SOTD MMM Fireplace. I thought it was the 1st of September and cracked out autumn.

Good news, mrsL. I am surprised at JL dragging their feet like that.

Calmanddance · 31/08/2018 21:54

SOTD was L’Artisan Parfumeur Tea for Two. It’s smoky tea with lots of fragrant tobacco on me. Very long-lasting.

3TresTrois · 31/08/2018 22:54

I cracked out my 80s powerhouse Ysatis tonight for posh dinner with sister in Notting Hill. There was a chill in the air tonight so I had to reach for a heavy hitter.

Bring on autumn! I’m very much ready for tights, boots and proper perfume.

I loved Ysatis....have just ordered the Milton Lloyd dupe of Paris (Monaco)- due to arrive tomorrow, the reviews say it smells like the 80s original version. Will see...

MrsLucas · 01/09/2018 00:06

The saga involved a repairman and the wait for parts, Judy. But they did the decent thing and replaced Smile. With hindsight, I shouldn't've been so patient...

Calm - I nearly reached for that, but my patience paid off when Jicky arrived Smile. EdT so the curdled milk moment passes quickly (I see LT describes this phase as lemon cheesecake), revealing the perfect lavender/vanilla accord - just gorgeous. The Guerlain EDTs are so ghostly/barely there - I can never quite decide if this is a genius way of wearing old classics, or whether I'd be better holding out for something stronger?

Finishing the evening in Tart's Knicker Drawer as it is SotW. Raspberries, violets, musk, sandalwood and powder. I do like this.

OutComeTheWolves · 01/09/2018 06:23

I popped into H&M yesterday because I'd heard they had a nice fig scent. I was actually really impressed with their range. I ended up with yuzu (a fizzy citrus) and Formentera (fig/neroli). For the price they had a fairly good longevity too.

MrsLucas · 01/09/2018 11:58

They do sound intriguing Wolves.

My Jicky came in one of those metal Guerlain flasks. Second only to Mary Greenwell's solid parfum in tactile appeal. Pleasingly weighty in the hand - another one just asking to be lobbed through a window...Grin

3TresTrois · 01/09/2018 15:33

Love Tarts Knicker Draw, MrsL. It’s one of my fave autumn/winter bedtime scents.

I’m in Sexiest Scent today and shortly off with my work team to an Ibiza Anthems outdoor concert with full orchestra. Packed a picnic (and gin!) and my 9ml of Sexiest Scent for inevitable top ups.

Feel like putting my PJs on and eating sausage & mash in front of the telly, to be honest, but sure I’ll have fun once I’m out Grin.

Hello, just popping in (usually a lurker) to say that I was in Chester yesterday and had my first visit to Penhaligons and oh my!..... Halfeti!!!!! Love 😍 😍 😍 it........ But can't afford it Sad
Are there any dupes or anything similar?

Judydreamsofhorses · 01/09/2018 19:46

SOTD FM Hiver for a trip to the hairdresser. SOTE is MMM Lazy Sunday Morning, in anticipation of tomorrow. I have to go out for dinner for MIL’s birthday when really I want to stay in and watch X Factor in my pyjamas.

Welcome, gloaming.

FluffyHairedFloofyCat · 01/09/2018 20:07

Lots of mention of MG Fire, I am waiting for the DC to go back to school next week and I will get my Autumn perfumes, including Fire, ready! MrsR its the end of an era, not having to do the school run and waving them off instead, isn't it? I give thanks everyday Grin

The possible upcoming heatwave however is possibly my fault, as I just pulled all my winter clothes out HmmBlush Apologies to those of us looking forward eagerly to opaque tights and lots of leopard print

Big welcome to all de-lurkers, keep posting! Gloaming (love that word, btw Smile) more expert Perfumistas may be able to recommend similars to Halfeti, but my only advice (which you've no doubt thought of) is decants on eBay or elsewhere? Sometimes Penhaligons do boxes of small sizes too which might be less eye watering, price wise. I don't think I've ever met a Penhaligons perfume I don't like, but haven't forgiven them yet for discontinuing Lily and Spice although accept loving smelling like a funeral is a niche love

SOTD is PP Alien (I know, I know) but I think this version smells more like the Absolue Essence flanker, which I'm a sucker for. Feel the need for perfume comfort as my hair is really fucking me off but it's slightly too early for winter hats and my short term memory seems to have gone to shit - hopefully a meds side effect and nothing sinister - but my brain seems to have a "lag" (like my rubbish internet!) and I can't remember anything for more than 5 seconds. I can't even remember SPaG so apologies for any glaring errors or incoherence Grin I have to keep sniffing my arms to remember what perfume I've put on earlier HmmGrin and my cat thinks it's great as she keeps convincing me that I haven't fed her and I believe her Grin

Hope everyone is having a relaxing or fun filled (whichever you prefer Wink) weekend, 3 outdoor orchestra Ibiza anthems sounds amazing! Surely your scent should be Impulse body spray, chewing gum, plastic from all the water bottles and everyone else's perfume from all the hugs you're getting? Wink Gin and sexiest scent is Ibiza all grown up!

MrsLucas · 01/09/2018 20:45

No HM perfume to be had within 30 mile radius.Sad. Cheered myself up with TopShop egg yolk yellow mum jeans, £8 in sale. DCs won't ever lose me in a crowd but the age police here won't be happy...

MrsLucas · 01/09/2018 21:51

Worth keeping an eye out in TK Maxx for Penhaligons. They have a couple online, but not Halfeti. Some Byredo there tonight. The Starck's look interesting, and, oh joy, they have Morabito's Or Black back in. (2014 formulation, but still great). Smile.

Lotsofpots · 01/09/2018 22:16

Wore Who Knew again today but it was hotter out than expected and wished I'd had my JM nectarine blossom and honey.

Wasn't going to buy any perfume for a while - managed to convince myself I didn't need to make the most of the 4160 discount - but in a car accident with both babies today and have decided that Rosa Ribes will be purchased, and a chunk of money put into my perfume fund (the savings account currently for Anima Dulcis and Zoologist Elephant).

I need the escapism and protection that perfume seems to offer.

MrsLucas · 01/09/2018 22:33

Hope you're all OK Pots?
