Kittens, congratulations on the pg and promotion and huge commiserations on the grievance thing. I had similar this very summer, was vindicated in the end but had a truly awful few days. It was handled atrociously by my boss's deputy (in short he was thinking with his dick about the complainer) and he is still going to get it with both barrels when I write my report.

XingMing · 18/08/2018 20:42

Hello gang. I'm reading through my fingers! I don't even know what I'm wearing today as I randomly selected something from the PP stash and sprayed. It might have been the PP Vert Boheme. Doesn't last well on me but I like it.

XingMing · 18/08/2018 20:46

Congratulations on the PG Kittens. Exciting times. It should have come first mention.

CountFosco · 18/08/2018 21:06

Congrats on the promotion and pregnancy Kittens. Was in Primark today (DD1 got some fab camo joggers that I am very tempted to go back and get in the age 15 for myself) and triend on all their Oud perfumes. Not as classy as the Monotheme Ouds in M&S but impressive longevity for £6.

Congratulations Kittens.

SmileMrsS. Opening is the least impressive phase, I think.

SOTD is Chanel 19, which I need to replace as soon as I get paid.

MrsR I am excited to start wearing autumn perfumes like Fireplace again soon!

Gosh, kittens, it never rains but it pours. Congrats on a perfumista to be!

MrsLucas · 19/08/2018 05:22

Sorry MrsS - didn't express that very well.
If you haven't tried, it takes a few minutes to reveal itself. It opens in a where is this going? sort of way. It all makes sense when the incense kicks in.

Anyone tried PP Rose Oud?

Calmanddance · 19/08/2018 20:56

Congratulations Kittens, on the new baby and promotion!

MrsLucas, I haven’t tried PP Rose Oud, but I have a small bottle of their Velvet Rose & Oud, which is based on a Jo Malone. It’s a bit sickly sweet on me, to be honest, but I think that’s because of the praline note. The rose element is lovely.

3TresTrois · 19/08/2018 22:41

What fragrant things are good in Spain, Perfumistas? I vaguely recall a lemony soap people talk about. I’m close to Valencia, so there are shops and chemists. My credit card fingers are twitching...I have been far too good for far too long (no purchases since late April!),

3TresTrois · 19/08/2018 22:43

(Back to 3 themed names to avoid confusion)

FluffyHairedFloofyCat · 21/08/2018 13:55

Ooh we've gone all quiet, is everyone on holiday? Or protecting their credit cards Wink

3 I remember someone (olli?) talking about a Spanish baby cologne, I think it was lemony and called Nenuco or similar but apparently there is a few different ones. It stuck in mind as it seemed an odd concept - scented babies! - but lovely on adults too apparently. Sorry that's a bit random!

Also longingly waiting for Autumn perfumes, and getting out my autumn/winter clothes!

I tried the PP Velvet Rose (as the name sounded cosy Hmm) but the sweet note was lovely on testers but really artificial on my skin for some reason. And of course it lasted forever Grin

SOTD is M & S Rosie as I managed to get a couple of cheap bottles (embargo is going well you can see) and thought DD might like it as she adores Paul Smith Rose. It's...pleasant but not mind blowingly awesome which is what I want from my perfumes these days!

PS it's Floofy (obvs Grin) and namechange is due to my hair appearing to be growing back . I'm letting it grow a bit to see if there are any bald patches and it's at the fluffy stage. Hopefully I will soon be literally Floofy!

Judydreamsofhorses · 21/08/2018 22:01

Evening all. floofy that is great news -sending you good hair vibes.

SOTD is Byredo GW. So tired and fed up, and I have only been back at work a few days. Bleurgh.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/08/2018 22:09

Alvarez Gomez is the cojones del perro of Spanish Eau de cologne. You can get shower gel and soap too. I also found a nice lavender soap, and there is always Maja Spanish dancer soap, 3.

I won’t get my White Queen till I am back in U.K. at the end of September, unless I sneak in a quick weekend before that.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/08/2018 22:11

SOTD was What I Did on My Holidays. Which smells different to everyone. DH can only smell vanilla, I get overwhelmingly mint, and my PA gets coconut. Goodbye Piccadilly is lavender to me and violets to DD1.

3TresTrois · 22/08/2018 00:10

Thanks Fluff and MrsS - Nenuco and Alvarez Gomes on the list.

I’ve been wearing Aquolina Gold Sugar the last few days. DD says I smell like a Waffle House 😆...so very gourmand, obvs.

3TresTrois · 22/08/2018 00:21

MrsS - re: WIDOMH. I had a 9 ml last year and I got overwhelming minty stick of rick and loved it. Got a 30ml this year and found it so vanilla and sweet. I love vanilla and gourmand, personally, but was a bit disappointed, as wasn’t what I’d recalled. I thought the formulation had changed, in fact!

3TresTrois · 22/08/2018 00:21

SotD Goodbye Piccadilly (Violets and Patch here), getting bored with my 100s of samples but not buying anything until our holiday. Off to Paris on Sunday. First time abroad with the kids and haven't spoken French for about 15 years! Could be interesting.

Where are you staying, Count Fosco? I used to live in Paris.
