SoTD is Etui Noir, for no good reason.

Tomorrow is the final dental appointment for fitting two new porcelain crowns and bridge. Painless from this point, apart from the bill.

Ollivander84 · 06/08/2018 18:10

SOTD - DKNY stories
Reminds me of womanity but a more "user friendly" way!

Le labo Santal perfume parlour on order too

TheCountryGirl · 06/08/2018 18:21

SOTD is Hugo Boss Woman, chosen by my little daughter. Generic but quite summery and nice - different from my usual taste.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/08/2018 20:09

SOTD was...can't remember Blush

Thread is quiet. Are we all wilting in the heat?

A colleague bought me in samples of Mon Paris (tooth-achingly sweet floral) and something by Cacharel called Yes I Am (bubblegum caramel). Bless her, not my thing at all. She's promised me some proper Bulgarian rose attar, though, so holding out for that Grin

I may have bought 30ml of Another Kiss...

Hope tooth stuff goes well tomorrow xing

TheCountryGirl · 06/08/2018 20:13

Another Kiss is wonderful. My friend bought me Coach for my birthday - I like it a lot!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/08/2018 20:53

argh, im so tempted by another kiss, i so am but should i really spend any more money?! the answer is probably no Sad

MrsLucas · 06/08/2018 21:01

SotD was Eau du Sud.

PP order has been dispatched - Yay! Also gone for the Le Labo Ollivander.

AdoraBell · 06/08/2018 21:17

I’ve been MIA due to a pescie virus running away with my sense of smell, and tastebuds.

What’s PP if you don’t mind me asking MrsLucas?

Cannot buy perfume this month. I’ve promised DD1 a few days in London when her friend visits from overseas next week I wanted to get Jardin del Sur De Nil for DD’s birthday present, it might get pushed back to Christmas.

MrsLucas · 06/08/2018 22:28

Sounds nasty Adora. Perfume Parlour.

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/08/2018 23:17

SOTD MMM Beach Walk. I really love this, but suspect I would hate it immediately September comes around. I was out for lunch with my colleague today and afterwards we had a little wander round the Debenhams perfume hall - they have a big Guerlain counter and thankfully no sales people mithering us. Anyway, it was funny how different our tastes were, and she was horrified by my old lady picks, including a load of perfumes I actually own. Rive Gauche and Mitsouko she particularly hated.

Good luck tomorrow, xing. I am still waiting on health board approval for my new mouthguard, which is annoying as I am back at work next week. The Max Fax consultant seemed to think this would solve my problems, but I am not convinced, and at times feel like I wish my dentist would just do a load of root canals to get me out of pain. Stupid bloody teeth.

Ollivander84 · 06/08/2018 23:29

I love beach walk. Lazy Sunday morning is another favourite

BarbaraCartlandsFloofyCat · 07/08/2018 08:10

Now you see, I couldn't buy a perfume named "Lazy Sunday morning" as I just wouldn't be able to wear it any other day apart from Sundays Blush It would be like wearing Virgin Island Water in winter or something equally horrifying to me Grin

Sorry to hear about teeth woes, don't they know we need to spend our money on perfume! I have been reading but otherwise MIA due to brain woes at the moment, luckily it isn't costing me anything as the good old NHS has been amazingly wonderful.

Slalom we love a bit of Britney! I particularly like Curious (I think that's the name) which is gorgeous in Summer, and my very fashionable Instagram obsessed teenage DD has stolen it so it must be good!

Fennel workshop sounds amazing Envy (that's a jealous face btw)

Do you know I just realised (and don't laugh please) I don't actually know how you say 4160s Tuesdays - I know it means four thousand one hundred etc but is that what you say, or 41 60s? I don't really talk about perfume in RL as I have a very small circle of RL friends Grinand when I bent DH's ears about the wonderfulness, I said Sarah McCartney....how do you pronounce it?

BarbaraCartlandsFloofyCat · 07/08/2018 08:11

Was it green who explained the 4160s thing to a table of elderly people, btw? GrinI so miss green!

UnnecessaryFennel · 07/08/2018 10:07

Floof I must admit I tend to say forty-one sixty, but Sarah definitely says four thousand one hundred and sixty so that must be what's right Grin

On that note, my bottle of Another Kiss arrived with a sample of Amberama, which is HEAVENLY. Goddammit.

Calmanddance · 07/08/2018 10:39

I say four-one-sixty, but as Fennel says above, Sarah McCartney says it out in full. But I have also heard her say she’s not too fussed about how people pronounce it.

I have found it difficult to find anything to suit in this weather. The citrussy perfumes disappear very quickly, and my favourite sweet perfumes are too cloying in the heat. Herba Fresca has been good, but I have very little left now. Also 4160’s Lady Rose Lion has worked well, a non-sweet chypre with lasting power.

Today I’m wearing Yves Rocher Orange Blossom/Lavender/Petitgrain. This is light but very pretty and refreshing. It only lasts an hour or two, but is so cheap you can respray often.

Fennel, interesting to hear about the 4160 workshop. I didn’t realise it was a work-based venture (or I wouldn’t have been so nosy!). A bit nail-biting for you, though, mixing work and leisure activity. It’s pleasing that Sarah has lots of plans - I so want her to do well. She seems such a nice person (as does her husband, Nick).

XingMing · 07/08/2018 13:35

Another one guilty of saying forty-one-sixty!

Dentistry is done and dusted, and all's well apart from a bit of a nerve bouncing around; I presume it will settle down fairly quickly. Now it's finished, I've realised that I'm very happy to lose the temporary caps which felt enormous in my mouth.

Scent is Chypre 21. The heatwave has apparently ended now and I can face perfume that's a bit heavier and more complex. This is an autumn favourite, but never seems quite right at other times.

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/08/2018 17:15

Oh, I would say four-one-six-oh-tuesdays - totally wrong!

SOTD is Rive Gauche.

Good to see you, floofy, and xing I am glad your dental work is done. floofy did you have “days of the week” pants as a child? I couldn’t have worn the wrong day’s knickers, but I will be wearing Lazy Sunday Morning on other days. (Wishing I was still in bed when I am back at work, most likely!)

Ollivander84 · 07/08/2018 17:17

SOTD Gypsy water because I'm doing care tonight and it's not heavy. One of the guys I usually go to is obsessed when I wear eau de protection Grin

MrsLucas · 07/08/2018 19:37

Nice to hear from you Floof - hope you're doing ok? Yes, that was Green.Smile

SotD - 31 Rue Cambon. Lovely stuff.

PestymcPestFace · 07/08/2018 20:36

Judy I would also say four-one-six-oh-Tuesdays. So you're not totally wrong, I agree with you Grin

SotD is Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache, finished the sample. Won't be getting a FB, but it was a laster even in the heat.

MrsLucas · 07/08/2018 21:18

Long day travelling (again). Hoping PP order might be waiting for me at home to cheer me up.

MrsLucas · 07/08/2018 22:27

No PP but latest SA has arrived - Eau de Cedre. Tea with cedar and suede. Pleasant enough.

AdoraBell · 07/08/2018 23:17

Thanks MrsLucas

Ollivander84 · 08/08/2018 09:52

SOTD dkny stories. Starting to really like this Smile

YukonGold · 08/08/2018 11:39

Hello perfumisters!

I've just spent the morning reading this thread as I'm a fellow perfume lover. From reading I've discovered Perfume Parlour which looks fab for dupes and I have a long list of perfumes to try.

My question is do I go for a roller or spray? Is there any difference in intensity/ longevity? Thanks Smile
