Go for it! No question too silly.......

I totally get how intimidating some counters can be ! Plus I've gone "undercover" recently and gone for a few free makeovers and have wanted to cry when I see myself after and am determined to never make any of my clients or models feel like that.......

I'm not promising I'm a miracle worker but I've got a few years of experience in lots of fields of MUA so if I can help I will x

Ps I think you should start the thread off lovely battleax! X

Cover fx, revolution or elf setting sprays are pretty good in hot/humid/sweaty weather!

What skincare products do you put on around eye area before you put your make up on? X

Great thread! Smile what primer would you suggest? I used a Mac one before but I found them when I was rubbing it in there were bits on my face?! Like it wasn't sinking into my skin! Put me off a bit!

imsconequeen · 22/07/2018 13:41

Alittlepieceofme
I don't use primers for this very reason as I said downthread , and I also think it flattens my colours so rarely use.

Can anyone who uses one that they like recommended one to other posters who've asked me this same question?!

Sorry to not be more helpful! X

I have a yellow tinge around my mouth should I use a colour concellor or a primer to mask it please.

FeeEngel · 22/07/2018 14:17

What is the best product to use for tightlining, please?

expatinspain · 22/07/2018 14:20

I use Clinique all about eyes rich.

alittlepieceofme · 22/07/2018 14:43

@imsconequeen ah I see, thanks for replying!

thegirlthatcant · 22/07/2018 15:35

i have pale skin and light brown hair - suit corals turquoise colours
what colour could you recommend - lipstick or gloss is fine
thank you

imsconequeen · 22/07/2018 17:44

Expatinspain do you use a rice sized amount? Blot with tissue after and don't use powder near lines!

Can you get a pinky peachy concealer on the dark area first before a light reflecting concealer like ysl touché eclat?x

FeeEngel

I like Art Deco waterproof eyeliner or stila smudge proof stick

It's always tricky to keep on because of blinking and watery eyes. I sometimes dot along upperline right in between lashes instead x

I really like the bright revlon colourburst matte pencils (like chubby sticks)

Hey,

I don't use any powder there any more. YSL used to be my go to, but now seems to make the creases worse. Maybe it's just age. I heard nars is good, but don't know which colour is best. I have to order over the internet here, as I can't find in store. Do you recommend that? Which colour? My skin is medium tanned and my circles are brown/black as opposed to purple x

I'm sorry id never try to colourmatch you without seeing you! Have you no sephora or any other stores close to you?

imsconequeen, how long have you been a makeup artist? What sector in the industry do you work in? Do you have any tips for starting out? I'm still learning about favourite products and other methods as go along but I've done a very in-depth course with working makeup artists so would love to know.

expatinspain · 22/07/2018 22:07

There is in Alicante, which isn't too far. I'll go there when I get a chance Smile

I'm mostly in fashion/editorial although on mat leave at the mo

I'm mostly self taught but I did several courses at a makeupacademy in Glasgow and then assisted for a couple of years after that (mostly unpaid). This is a second career for me so only in the last 10 years have I been doing it "seriously" x

Have asked this on own thread but you seem like a good person to ask directly!

I’m after recommendations for a couple of bits for my bridal make up!
A matte red with blueish undertones (as these are good for helping teeth look whiter so I’m told!) and good staying power?

And a good waterproof mascara for the inevitable happy tears!?

CatherineMaitland · 23/07/2018 12:16

Hope I'm not too late to ask a question...Eyeshadow. I really want to wear it. But I'm finding it impossible to figure out how to get the stuff on so it looks nice. I can't figure out the right brush actions. Sorry if that sounds really stupid - but how can I learn this? What am I missing? Is it impossible without a proper make-up mirror? Sigh...

Loveagoodbook · 23/07/2018 14:08

Can you recommend a good non silicone primer?

imsconequeen · 23/07/2018 17:18

Loveagoodbook
Sephora and too faced both do silicone free printers but they work begged with water based foundations.......

Probably mac ruby woo is up there in top reds, or nars heat wave

Are you wearing false lashes or lash extensions?

Cathrinemaitland

I'd look up YouTube sites for this.....it's easier to watch and copy rather than try to explain it

I'd try pixiwoos or real techniques as they'll also tell you what brushes you need depending on what look you like x

How do you make your powder look less powdery after applying foundation? Also how do you get powder to stay on cheeks? It's a nightmare for me

imsconequeen · 23/07/2018 20:03

Ilovespadays
How do you apply your foundation/powder? Which ones do you use? What skincare do you use beforehand?
