Go for it! No question too silly.......

I totally get how intimidating some counters can be ! Plus I've gone "undercover" recently and gone for a few free makeovers and have wanted to cry when I see myself after and am determined to never make any of my clients or models feel like that.......

I'm not promising I'm a miracle worker but I've got a few years of experience in lots of fields of MUA so if I can help I will x

Ps I think you should start the thread off lovely battleax! X

Thanks Imsconequeen - will try that.

WarmFunKindStrong · 23/07/2018 21:14

Is there a secret to putting on false eyelashes? I have always wanted to wear them. Have never yet managed to place them properly. TIA x

Jen306 · 23/07/2018 21:25

Thanks @imsconequeen I think I’ll try ruby woo ive heard a couple of people mention it.
No false lashes or extensions just natural lashes

imsconequeen · 24/07/2018 08:19

I don't really use waterproof mascara but Ifvi do I like a nice dramatic one like ysl false lash effect or Lancôme's hypnose drama

Curl your lashes before and use a good setting spray! Are you doing your own make up on the day? X

Thank you. Can you recommend a good water based foundation? Sorry to be a pain! My rubbish huge pore skin really gets me down and have spent so much money on primer and foundations!

imsconequeen · 24/07/2018 11:46

Loveagoodbook

Budget - bourjois healthy mix
More expensive - mac face and body

Thank you for the recommendation on Garnier BB cream, I've been using it for the last week and it's great. I rarely wear foundation but I'm using much less concealer with the BB cream.
I can just about get away with the light shade at the moment thanks to having a bit of a tan but I'm normally pale and interesting Wink, usually nc15 in Mac. I think come winter the Garnier will be too dark for me, any recommendations?

SummerWinter · 25/07/2018 08:50

What’s your top tip for making eyes look bigger?

imsconequeen · 25/07/2018 09:13

Gruffalostick

There's an extra light. I use this one. It's tricky to get in shops so I buy online for £5ish! X

Summerwinter

Don't wear dark eyeliner all way round eye

Wing any colour out towards outer eye

Wear a few extra lashes on outer top lashes!

Nude eyeliner on bottom waterline

Build a darker colour on socket crease at outer edge only

Thanks! Will look for the Mac stuff.

Those wanting a primer - I really rate Lancôme's LA Base x

Can you recommend a tattoo coverup makeup?

Fullfatlatte · 26/07/2018 10:07

I’m going on Hols soon, will only be wearing a bit of makeup in the evening. I see you’ve recommended the Garnier BB cream previously. Is it any good for an oily t zone? Can’t decide between this one of the No7. Haven’t used a B.B. before, do I use my normal moisturiser beforehand? Thank you 😊

imsconequeen · 26/07/2018 10:47

Crazydoglady6867

Make up forever full coverage or dermablend
I think there's a specific tattoo cover up foundation but I've never used.....
The benefits of photoshop now!

I use moisturiser first yes but that's just my preference

I quite like the coverage partic on my tzone. Can't say much has lasted 100% in this area with the amount I'm bloody sweating at the mo! X

What is the difference between a primer and a serum?

imsconequeen · 26/07/2018 18:20

A serum is part of your skincare regime and should be applied before moisturiser

A primer is to wear on top of your skincare before your base which should help your make up last longer x

I'm just place marking!

Fullfatlatte · 27/07/2018 16:39

Great thread 👍 So I was umming & arring about B.B. creams, walked into Superdrug & they have the Garnier one half price so that made my mind up! I will report back. Can I also ask for your favourite day/night creams/gels for dehrydated 46 yr old skin (I do get an oily t-zone). Thank you

Maraki · 27/07/2018 16:44

Is it possible to apply eye pencil on the lower waterline? Whatever pencil I use gets ‘washed off’ by my eyes in a couple of hours and I end up with panda eyes.

I can do dark eyeshadow with a fine brush on the roots of the lower lashes, but it hasn’t got the sane effect.

Thank you

Maraki · 27/07/2018 16:48

fulfatlatte until our resident makeup artist responds re creams, my favourites for dehydrated skin are HaboLabo moisturising lotion (amazon) followed by Avene Hydrance Riche. In the evening Astral on a good day,’ Weleda skin food’ on a dry day.
