Go for it! No question too silly.......

I totally get how intimidating some counters can be ! Plus I've gone "undercover" recently and gone for a few free makeovers and have wanted to cry when I see myself after and am determined to never make any of my clients or models feel like that.......

I'm not promising I'm a miracle worker but I've got a few years of experience in lots of fields of MUA so if I can help I will x

Ps I think you should start the thread off lovely battleax! X

Hi
I like a natural look and happy to have freckles .

TerfsUp · 15/07/2018 15:12

Thank you for your time and advice, OP. This is a great thread and your input is much appreciated.

imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 15:20

Terfsup I've enjoyed it! No probs x

imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 15:22

Speckledyhen why not try a B.B. or cc cream instead of foundation? Or just tinted moisturiser concealing/powdering areas that need a bit more "coverage"?

SpeckledyHen · 15/07/2018 15:26

Are there any brands you can recommend please ? I currently were Bourjois Healthy Mix and fancy a change

imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 15:28

I love garniers B.B. cream in extra light and mix it with boots botanics radiance balm. I like my freckles to show!

X

lalascribbles · 15/07/2018 16:17

I'm a doublewear user how do you ensure you don't get the dreaded ghost face in photos?

Any tips for wedding makeup for bride and bridesmaids we'll be up on a stage concerned about loosing features, looking not made up, but makeup also needs to look nice up close for wedding breakfast, photos etc

suze28 · 15/07/2018 17:09

Thanks for the advice! Off to find a cheaper one than the CT; I think Kiko have them.

imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 17:50

Lalascribbles the white face can sometimes be caused by spf in creams/foundation. Some primers with silicon can do this too when the powder sticks to it!

What's the lighting like at wedding? Outside/inside/day/night? X

imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 17:51

Suze28 Kiko's are good. So are sleeks (from Superdrug) I keep harping on about sleek but I think they're ace. Pencils don't drag at all x

All photos will be inside, some areas are bright with natural lighting others are darker with up lighters, stage lighting twinkly lights etc

I know spf is thought to be the culprit but it seems all foundations have spf and do really like dw for coverage and colour.

imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 20:31

Lalascribbles just looked up Estée Lauders website and says dw is only spf10.....that might not cause the white patches then ?

Have you used it before and it's given you white face in pics? Do you wear powder?

OhFFSDH · 15/07/2018 20:44

I use a moisturiser, either Sukrin or Weleda Skin Food but was always told I didn't need to use a primer. I've got combination skin. Could it be lack of primer? Could you recommend something?

lalascribbles · 15/07/2018 20:52

I wear the maximum one which is spf 15. I've had it happen in photos taken on nights out when a direct flash is used, only when a direct flash is used in the dark though. I don't tend to wear powder anymore, I use a beauty blender with fix it spray when finishing and then a good spray of fix it to leave my face dewy. I do have translucent, banana and illuminating powders. I used to use a dw powder that matched my foundation to set and stopped last year after having my make up done and liking what they did.

How do you get foundation to stop sinking in your smile lines?

lalascribbles · 15/07/2018 22:18

Thank you @imsconequeen

imsconequeen · 16/07/2018 13:14

Mb134 do you moisturise first? Do you use primer? How do you apply your foundation? Do you use powder? X

Why am I sensitive to certain products?

I can wear most premium brand foundations but only Clinique eyeshadow.

Same with cleansers can't use dermalogica, Liz Earle, elemis or clarins but can use Clinique or simple ?

imsconequeen · 17/07/2018 19:27

I think it'll be some of the parabens or levels of alcohol /acids in them that'll make you sensitive. It's really annoying, but really common x
