Go for it! No question too silly.......

I totally get how intimidating some counters can be ! Plus I've gone "undercover" recently and gone for a few free makeovers and have wanted to cry when I see myself after and am determined to never make any of my clients or models feel like that.......

I'm not promising I'm a miracle worker but I've got a few years of experience in lots of fields of MUA so if I can help I will x

Ps I think you should start the thread off lovely battleax! X

Yes I do one on one lessons!
If concealer is sitting in lines....moisturise, blot lightly with tissue then apply touche eclat or other light reflecting concealer......

Csiblonde what is your natural lip colour? Are they quite pale or got good bright shade to them? What eye make up do you use? X

Hi OP, my natural lip colour ispale pink. I wear v little eyeshadow tbh as eyes v allergy prone, puff up if I do more than the odd day). If I do it's taupe/gold & some hilighter under brow bone. Thanks for reply :-)

dameofdilemma · 11/07/2018 09:36

Here's one for you - what eye shadow colours work best for dark brown eyes and medium brown (Asian) skin?

Have been stuck in a rut of browns/golds for years. Tried purple and I looked like I had a black eye!

Csiblonde why don't you go for a punchy matt lip colour ? Do you prefer more subtle glosses? X with your colourings you could wear a lot of shades x

imsconequeen · 11/07/2018 21:33

Dameofdilemna dark greens and navy would suit you x

imsconequeen · 11/07/2018 21:35

Honeycake50 are you on instagram/fb? If so why don't you contact people whose pictures you like? Then ask if they do one:one's?
Always always get samples of stuff at counters (even if it means taking your own little sample pots in to fill) before you buy!

Not sure if it's already been asked but what's the best eye shadow base? I am using an Urban Decay one but am not overly impressed with it. I'm 50's but my eyelids aren't dry though they are less smooth than they used to be. Thanks

Rogersnextdoublespartner · 12/07/2018 07:53

Great thread, thank you.

My question is about winter makeup. Shallow skin, blue eyes, mousy/highlighted/ grey hair.
I tan very easily and look ok in the summer but look dreadful in the winter; pasty with black circles. Any suggestions?

dameofdilemma · 12/07/2018 09:25

Thanks imscone - not sure am brave enough for navy but will give dark green a go...

imsconequeen · 12/07/2018 10:28

You could always just try a bit of navy eyeliner or a bit of navy eyeshadow used like an eyeliner? X

imsconequeen · 12/07/2018 10:31

Roger under eye concealer, highlight cheekbones and a bright lip for winter! X

Rogersnextdoublespartner · 12/07/2018 10:38

Thank you scone. I've never used highlighter, is there a subtle one you'd suggest?

BlameItOnTheNeon · 12/07/2018 10:58

That's great, thank you :)

imsconequeen · 12/07/2018 13:26

Roger, have a look at sleek in Superdrug or bigger boots.....they have cream or powder highlighters.......some of them are not too OTT!
Apply a little to above eyebrow and arch under eyebrow plus some on top of cheekbones......x

Thanks imscone.
Just to check, I'd be putting the 'colour' on the socket area just above the eyelid - not on the eyelid itself?

Usually I put a very pale colour on the eyelid as my eyes aren't huge. I find a dark colour on the lid makes them look sunken.

Will be looking at dark green shadows and navy liners this weekend. Good to see you recommend Sleek - that's ones of my faves.

imsconequeen · 12/07/2018 15:55

Yes dame on the crease of the socket
With a slightly lighter colour on the lid

Thank you imsconequeen for the skincare recommendations 💐

I thought I had a reasonable skincare routine although my skin has always been a but dehydrated. I added Hada Labo hydrating lotion before my daily moisturiser (on damp skin) in the morning and switched my night cream for weleda skin food. Only used for a couple of dayss and WOW! My skin is plump, and hydrated 👍

Thank you 💐

LookWhosHavingKittens · 14/07/2018 23:43

OP, how do I keep my foundation in place under my eyes, forehead and the crease by my nose without accentuating lines? This weather means my face melts or looks cracked!

Didiusfalco · 15/07/2018 00:16

Could you recommend a light reflecting moisturiser please?

CSIblonde · 15/07/2018 01:50

Thanks for reply OP. Yes I prefer lip glosses but would like matt neutrals khloe kardashian always has too. Bright colours makes me look me look even paler...

suze28 · 15/07/2018 08:25

I have fair skin and blue eyes. My go to eyeshadow shades are golds, bronzes, taupes and browns. Would dark green work? I'm thinking CT colour chameleon in smokey emerald as I do love eyeshadow pencils. Thanks!

SpeckledyHen · 15/07/2018 08:33

Hi
What foundation blusher etc could you recommend please for freckled mature skin ?
Thank you

imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 15:03

Speckledyhen what sort of coverage do you like?

OP posts:
imsconequeen · 15/07/2018 15:05

Suze28 of course you can wear green! If in doubt buy a cheap one to try before you buy the tilbury one
