What is this foul perfume I keep smelling everywhere?

Today on an hour long commute I noted 3 separate women wearing this same overpowering scent. It’s sort of warm as if it’s a lotion instead of a spray. Smells like pineapple & strawberry sweets mixed with sun cream, like a 3 yo’s sticky hands after a day at the beach. And it’s overwhelming, you don’t just get a waft as someone walks by, it hangs in the air, like someone has dumped a half eaten rainbow ice lolly behind the radiator and you haven’t discovered it until the heat comes in in October. Any thoughts?

Totally agree Redbox - there's a time and a place for strong perfume and public transport, cinemas, theatres, restaurants isn't it. I dread getting stuck on a long flight close to someone wearing some of these.

Oh dear - I veer between la vie est belle and when skint next's rouge absolue. Sorry to all those people who hate sweet scents. I still have a soft spot for white musk

Well I’ve had a recce in boots today and now 100% sure it’s some kind of lotion or oil. Body sprays always have a cool, powdery undernote and this was warm and moist. Possibly self tan but do they really smell that strong?

I don’t know why people feel the need to cover themselves in scent, it’s so unpleasant for the rest of society.

WellTidy I thought the same. Pomegranate noir is one of the foulest scents ever. It smells absolutely disgusting on everyone to me.

Very strong smell, sort of sweet Coconutty floral smell.

Haven’t RTFT but I keep smelling Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming everywhere. I really like it, but it is too over used for me now.

Chanel I know! I can’t understand the appeal. It is soooo distinctive though. Not a patch on Chanel!

Has angel been out for decades? I wear Alien and remember when my local perfume shop got Angel in, I was so excited. It was absolutely horrible.

I quite like Bronze Goddess I've got the Next rip-off version but i only use one squirt.

I quite like the coconutty/ suncream smell on a sunny day.

I adore Angel Eau Sucree and Bronze Godess. I will feel quite paranoid wearing them now. I hate Pomegranate Noir, and Aromatics Elixir is a weapon of mass destruction.

A PP mentioned Poison. That was SO sickly and overpowering. I remember being in a lift with a fur coated, Poison wearing woman. Longest lift ride of my life 🤢

if someone asks what perfume you are wearing they are hinting you wear to much of it.

Please, people, don't drench yourself in perfume, you make innocent bystanders retch. Any reasonably clean human being smells better than buckets of artificial chemicals. It is so anti social to inflict it on other people - a bit like being a passive smoker, practically retching being forced to share a commute with someone drenched in perfume.

Heh yes probably, alien is super strong I think. And there I thought I was subtle with it!

Could have been soap and glory products , my firsr thought was those hawaiian tropic sprays...there is also and impulse spray that dd sprays everywhere every bloody morning smells like you describe..has a natural pump

I like that Hawaiian Tropic lotion and Soap and Glory products so I'm probably the wrong person to ask.

Angel is fucking dreadful. It’s so cloying and sickly. Gives me a headache.

Some of the Bright Young Things at work are wearing a new one by (I think) Calvin Klein. It is foul and smells like a combination of pine disinfectant, dettol and karvol. Horrid.

I haven't had the pleasure of smelling Angel yet - must do so at the weekend - dreading it.
Surely Estee Lauder Youth Dew is the vilest of all time though? Although I love Beautiful and still use it in the evenings. I used to like Lovely by SJP for daytime. I joked to my friend that I was lovely in the day and beautiful at night. Ha!

Oh I love fruity or sweet vanilla/ coconut smells - usually as body butter as I'm not keen on sprays. If it is a lotion and you find out what it is please let me know!!

Just to restore a bit of faith - when I ask someone what scent they're wearing it is because I really do like it! Don't panic!!
