I loved the beauty of the veil over the simple dress, I think as a whole it suited her ,but there is something a bit naff about full on veiled up bride for a second wedding. I thought it was something one only did once.

SayImADreamer · 19/05/2018 15:48

Deeply boring aand shockingly ill fitted for a 5 figure Givenchy dress.

I think it was chosen by an actor deciding to go with something that would "say" demure elegant royal bride.

OutsideContextProblem · 19/05/2018 15:48

Loved the neckline and I adore that tiara. I’d even shell out for a QVC knockoff though god knows when I’d wear it.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/05/2018 15:49

It was simple., but those lines really suit herLoved the tiara Looked art déco.
Thé grooms & pages outfits were perfect.
Absolutely flawless. The girl.know what she's doing

SayImADreamer · 19/05/2018 15:49

@SirVixofVixHall
I agree the long virginal princess veil was a bit naff at her age and also when she got out the car and stood on the steps fully veiled before going into the church, i actually thought there was something a bit scary/gothic looking about it

FreeMantle · 19/05/2018 15:50

Dull. But I guess with all the other palaver going on and a husband in uniform it looked fine.

She doesn't look like a princess in it and it wasn't worth the whole wait but I can see why she chose it.

^^exactly this.

She ended up looking like a 7 yo playing princesses wrapped up in a bed sheet.

ProperLavs · 19/05/2018 15:52

ok, I've given in and had a look at photos of her dress. It didn't fit her properly. It looked like it had been made for someone else.

IfNot · 19/05/2018 15:53

Yeah the long veil was a bit daft. I loved the neckline, and LOVED the tiara. It was from 1933 apparently.
I would have liked the dress more in a slightly slinking fabric, more clingy with more movement. It looked a bit stiff.
She is a beautiful woman though and I loved that she looked happy and confident and Harry looked like a bag of emotions!

kateandme · 19/05/2018 15:56

did they say she had every flower of the nations in her viel to which I thought was a lovely idea

diddl · 19/05/2018 16:08

I liked the veil but did think it was odd to have it over her face.

Not just for 2nd weddings-when couples have been living together also.

blueshoes · 19/05/2018 16:08

I like classy elegant simple lines (Audrey Hepburn), which I think was what Meghan was going for but ultimately the dress was a bit meh.

She has a lovely pencil slim figure but the dress did not accentuate it. The fabric was too stiff and the lack of design on the fabric did not make the dress stand out. As this is not a full blown royal wedding, she should have licence to go slinkier but it is a shame she did not.

For a refreshing modern bride, her dress was not. I blame the fabric and the fit.

specialsubject · 19/05/2018 16:10

a wedding dress is fancy dress and does need suspension of belief. it did fit, and unlike the frump lumps on poor Kates dress it didnt look as if her bra was showing.

and yes yes yes to makeup that showed her skin.

blueshoes · 19/05/2018 16:11

I get that her make up was natural but with the plainish dress and understated make up on her colouring, she looked washed out.

findingmyfeet12 · 19/05/2018 16:13

I thought Kate's makeup was far too heavy and harsh looking on her wedding.

Meghan's was much more sophisticated and pretty.

I'm no fan of the royals but can appreciate a beautiful bride!

TatianaLarina · 19/05/2018 16:13

It was beautiful - simple, classy and elegant.

It will not appeal to women who like Essex tight slinky booby dresses.

gearandloathing · 19/05/2018 16:18

Not a fan. A bit plain and boring and I don't like the neckline.

SayImADreamer · 19/05/2018 16:20

@TatianaLarina
Oh you're sp classy and non Essexy Tatiana darling!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 19/05/2018 16:21

I haven't seen the dress, I'll go and have a look at it but why do some women just post such nasty, mean-spirited crap. Who cares what you think?

It's said that every bride looks beautiful on her day; I like that and I'm going with that one.

If I see the dress and don't like it, I'll manage to cope. Nobody needs to hear my invective. There's just no need for it. Criticisms of a bride are just shitty and this board's been full of them today - "She's an ACTRESS", so doesn't truly care for Harry it's all staged... blah blah, is just one. How classless can you get? Urgh.

SirVixofVixHall · 19/05/2018 16:22

Any of you style sleuths know a. Who the woman in pink was who walked in behind James Blunt and his wife ? And/or b.Any ideas on who her dress is by ?

Whyohwhy65 · 19/05/2018 16:22

Hideous.

PrimalLass · 19/05/2018 16:22

Maybe not actually too big but it looked it. It could have been really fitted but look just as elegant.

TatianaLarina · 19/05/2018 16:23

Oh you're sp classy and non Essexy Tatiana darling!

Damn right. Gin

MarshaBradyo · 19/05/2018 16:23

Hideous!
Why oh why whyohwhy

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 19/05/2018 16:23

I didn't realise this was 'style and beauty' but actually, I still feel the same. Is this board always so nasty about women now? I had good advice about a mascara once... Confused
