Think I'm keeping up with name changes but page 4 already...! Woah.

Wasn't the weather for Atelier Cologne in the end so having seen it mentioned yesterday Fruit Day SotD was Amber Mambo. Bloody love it!!

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 02/05/2018 19:19

Aaaah cross post but that's fantastic news Judy. So so pleased and relieved for you!

mrsreynolds · 02/05/2018 19:22

Judy ❤ wonderful news

UnnecessaryFennel · 02/05/2018 19:26

Oh, thank goodness Judy! So pleased for you, and nice to have you back Flowers

auberginesrus · 02/05/2018 19:26

Judy fantastic news, so pleased for Doc was lovely, have antibiotics and feeling a little better in the I TO dept but v tired and a bit groggy. Fingers crossed for dad's school trip tomorrow apparently I have already been assigned a group! And what's a suitable fragrance for leading a group of 10 year olds around a giant telescope/space exhibit/aboretum?

mrsreynolds · 02/05/2018 19:32

Sum moon Stars??
😁

mrsreynolds · 02/05/2018 19:33

Sun obv

MrsGruber · 02/05/2018 19:45

Back for one night only!

That's great news Judy.

Motoko - glad you like the BdV - hope you got some of the gorgeousness of the top notes (did seal it up super quickly!). The pinky orange one is Traversee du Bosphore and the other is Aubade. Should've got you to guess!

Grin at Pest's new name.

I'm off again, but pm me if in doubt. (The typos should in any case be a dead giveaway...).

positivepineapple · 02/05/2018 19:46

Judy that's wonderful news!! Really pleased for you Smile

LuwakCoffee · 02/05/2018 19:51

Good news, Judy, delighted to hear it. Teeth are important! Possibly even more than perfume.

auberginesrus · 02/05/2018 20:20

Grin At Sun Moon Stars Mrs R (used to love that) and Blush at my typing and proofreading skills. Clearly I'm not well!

UnnecessaryFennel · 02/05/2018 21:17

Get well soon aubergines - cystitis is the pits.

Early to bed with the laptop and CVC.

Motoko · 02/05/2018 22:23

The pinky orange one is Traversee du Bosphore and the other is Aubade. Should've got you to guess!

Oh, I'd have been useless at that! I found the BdV smelt like a sweet violet, with a hint of creaminess.

Judy that's brilliant news! Must be such a relief, and I'm so glad you didn't have to wait 14 weeks.

Auberginesrus Sun, Moon, Stars seems the obvious choice, or Alien!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 02/05/2018 22:42

oh that's such good news judy you must be so so relieved! Thanks

ugh i have a runny nose and i don't know if it's hayfever or a cold coming. it's annoying as heck either way

SOTD was Babylon Sunset but trying to decide on something now for before bed

LibertyBlue · 02/05/2018 23:10

Brilliant news Judy Smile

I’m also early to bed in CVC Fennel flight tomorrow for business meeting and I have terrible toothache. Mouth currently doused doused in cordosyl .... yuck 🤢

Enjoyed the Cassis Frénésie today - it’s way more green than fruity actually. Quite sharp on opening and turns quite dry and woody, a little fruity, a little floral but not sweet. The Cassis reminds me of tomato leaf. It’s worth testing out if popping by M&S and you like green perfumes.

MrsSettergren · 03/05/2018 00:27

Have had a lovely day in Babylon Sunset which is a rich and bountiful beauty. If you think you don't like fruity florals try this - it's easy to love, and very rewarding to wear. Spend the day in a beautiful cloud of fruit, honey and sandalwood.

Calmwhoknows · 03/05/2018 02:07

Oh yes, I love Babylon Sunset! The fruity start goes quickly down to a honeyed sandalwood on me, but then lasts for hours.

I am currently away from home, but have been following from afar! I took a selection of samples and decants with me, but most of them haven’t stood up against changes of temperature and places. I wore Sisley Izia on citrus day. I love this (citrus rose) but it only lasts 3-4 hours at most, so I won’t be buying a full bottle. Annick Goutal’s Eau de Sud did not last in the humidity, although I love it in dry heat. Guerlain’s Apres L’Ondee was also fleeting. The standout good for-all-occasions was SJP’s Covet, an unusual geranium chocolate. It lasts, sillage is low so doesn’t annoy other travellers, and is good for daytime or evening. It is also very cheap!

I also took with me a sample of Oriza L Legrand’s Deja Le Printemps. I think this is the greenest perfume I have ever smelt, just like the smell of tramped over fresh young grass with fig leaves. Very refreshing, but poor longevity, although I need to test it further at home.

Dalmation, I have a bottle of Yu Son which I bought the first time I visited the Les Senteurs shop. It was very expensive, and if I had known then what I know now, I probably wouldn’t have bought it, simply because the longevity is only 3-4 hours. I should have bought a sample to take away and test further. However, I do absolutely enjoy having it in my collection. It is a beautiful citrus/tea/light floral. It is not like anything else and I doubt if Perfume Parlour make a dupe of it.

Was it Pineapple who was interested in Sira des Indes, the banana perfume? It is like nothing I have tried before and is a go-to favourite. It is a sweet, creamy floral with banana notes. I must admit that I don’t enjoy the opening as it smells a bit like new born baby poo 😨, but looking in Fragrantica, nobody else has written that, so I think it’s just me! I love the long-lasting drydown. If you would like a sample pm me.

I have lost track with the name changes! I would be so grateful if someone would be so kind as to pm me.

Calmwhoknows · 03/05/2018 02:48

Judy, I’m so pleased to hear your news - what a relief for you! 💐

Ollivander84 · 03/05/2018 07:09

SOTD is gold sugar Smile

mrsreynolds · 03/05/2018 07:12

Ugh
I've gone from having a free day to running around like a loon...
Sigh
Sotd obsession

UnnecessaryFennel · 03/05/2018 07:26

SOTD is Papillon Angelique. Thrown on at random as I was heading out of the door. I need to stop doing that.

mrsreynolds · 03/05/2018 08:51

Scratch that
Sotd PP rive gauche

LuwakCoffee · 03/05/2018 11:22

SoTD is Ninfeo Mio. I always forget how much I like this, it's fresh green and figgy, but lasts well too.

OCSock · 03/05/2018 11:29

I've confused myself with the name change and can't find my posts, so have reverted to OCSock....

UnnecessaryFennel · 03/05/2018 11:56

I've given up on Angelique; it's very nondescript on me aside from an odd mango-ish note that I don't much like. So am blasting it away with two teeny dabs of MG Plum which should keep going until this evening! Against all my better judgement I really do rather love this one, bolshy as it is.
