A couple of times recently, I've been so flabbergastingly disappointed with a product, I've wanted to tell other people, to save them from the same pain. So I thought it might be useful for us to have a thread, where we could all share this stuff.

I'll start...

Charles Worthington Everyday Gentle Weightless Conditioner, which should be renamed Useless Conditioner. I had high hopes. It promises to stop fine hair from getting bogged down with heavy conditioner. The trouble is that it also doesn't condition or do basic detangling. My DP (who has a hearing problem) could hear my hair breaking when I was brushing it after using the conditioner. That bad.

Great thread!

Agree with bare minerals! Hated their powder foundation, it highlighted every single flaw on my skin and made my face itchy and irritated!

OGX shampoos and conditioners, have tried so many of them and they all destroy my scalp! Itchy, flaky, does not nice at all!

Anything Clinique (apart from quickliner for eyes) all shit and my skin does not like any of their products!

Knope2020 · 26/08/2017 21:56

I used to swear by nice clairol nice and easy!!

Knope2020 · 26/08/2017 21:57

Clinique brings me out in a rash
And Liz Earle

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 21:58

Sorry for typos - been cleaning the shed all day and hit the wine! Not very S & B

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 21:59

Oh and all foamimg face cleansers but mainly Simple. As soon as I stopped using them I had a massive reduction in spots.

londonista · 26/08/2017 22:01

Mint - yes to Clinique
How is that brand still in business, everything is awful and overpriced. Very 80s / 90s brand.

londonista · 26/08/2017 22:02

Buzz yes I have some of that utter shite St tropez in shower stuff. The whole concept is flawed, don't know why I was sucked in.

Rainatnight · 26/08/2017 22:05

Totally agree on Clinique. I like chubby sticks but their skincare stuff is so over rated.

Ohh, agree re Clinique and the Laura Mercier OIL-FREE tinted moisturiser (could've fooled me, looked like I'd dunked my face in a deep fat fryer)

Tortycat · 26/08/2017 22:05

St Tropez faux glow. Made my legs look like bacon

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 26/08/2017 22:06

Another vote for They're Real mascara. I was shocked at how shit it was! I ended up with blobs of mascara all over my lashes. Not a good look!

AWaspOnAWindowInAHeatwave · 26/08/2017 22:07

Anything made by Simple seems to ruin my skin.
And I do not have sensitive teeth or gums at all, but my days, the Colgate Max Whitening mouthwash HURT.

whirlygirly · 26/08/2017 22:07

I like Clinique! Except the blue eye make up remover which stings. And the rancid aromatics elixir perfume - not sure they still make that.

Agree with Aussie, had to bin it as nothing has ever made my hair look worse. Tresemme I'm fine with though, though not Pantene. Odd.

Chanel nail polish, chips within minutes. No depth of colour. Barry m far better for fraction of the cost.

Chanel perfume universally smells rank on me too. As does that angel perfume. Had to wash a tester off as it made me queasy.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 26/08/2017 22:08

Oh yes I found Clinique skincare awful. My skin felt stripped of all goodness when I used It. Stopped using it all after a week! Such a waste.

whyhastherumgone · 26/08/2017 22:10

Thought of some more - that Lush sleepy cream - don't know why i was sucked in.

Clarissa beauty flash balm - nope.
Doesn't do anything for me.

The Ordinary Foundations - so much hype, hated both types. I am yet to find a foundation that gives me decent coverage and a healthy glow i either look caked or too shiny.

Make Up Revolution Colour Correcting palette - i just looked really cakey and ill after using it

Grawp · 26/08/2017 22:12

The descriptions on here are brilliant!

"Made my legs look like bacon" Grin

I hope everyone writes reviews on Boots/Amazon etc.

n0ne · 26/08/2017 22:14

Body Shop Rainforest shampoo and conditioner - often recommended on here as they don't contain silicone and I have curly hair. Supposed to lather up in your hand with water (why?), just washes them away so you end up using loads. My hair felt neither clean nor conditioned after use. Utter rubbish.

thepatchworkcat · 26/08/2017 22:16

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm does absolutely nothing for my skin, big waste of money.

Fructis shampoo made my hair really greasy Confused

londonista · 26/08/2017 22:17

I am so loving this thread.

I'm going upstairs for a rummage in my bathroom cabinet.

londonista · 26/08/2017 22:20

This cost a fortune and basically does absolutely nothing for me.

WooWooWitchetyWoo · 26/08/2017 22:20

I fall for everything on Mrs Gloss but am trying to stop myself Blush

Cloud 9s - awful; bought them to replace GHDs and they are pathetic. Hair doesn't stay straightened and I just find them so wimpish.

Gosh drops - coloured water.

Sleek matte me - hideous, stains outside of lips forever, leaves an empty bit where saliva hits. Lovely look Hmm

Aldi caviar clay mask - just buy concrete.

londonista · 26/08/2017 22:21

This cost £25 I think - used once. Rash.

Shit products - don't waste your money
WooWooWitchetyWoo · 26/08/2017 22:22

Oh yes, Ordinary serum/acid things. Marvel of marketing but they do nothing Sad.

londonista · 26/08/2017 22:22

I won't embarrass myself by admitting how much this cost. Made my eyes water.

Rainatnight · 26/08/2017 22:22

londonista you are taking this to the next level. Respect.
