I took a look at the oxfam online cashmere today...

IDismyname · 08/08/2017 22:56

...and MI????? Did you find anything?

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/08/2017 23:58

Just had a look on the Boden website. £98 for a jersey dress?? Are you shitting me, Johnny Boden???

Have picked up sale dress for non hot date with old flame on Monday. My mother wanted me to marry him. He has fulfilled all her dreams of what a successful son in law should be.

IDismyname · 09/08/2017 07:47

Oh do tell us more, MrsS.

What was it that ticked all the boxes for your mum?

(I'm guessing he's a hot shot lawyer. Dead rich. V v conservative)

bigTillyMint · 09/08/2017 08:05

Is he the ministerial one?

Airborne, are you a leather dyeing whizz? I have a bag that I might want to dye in the future...

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2017 08:15

You are both right. Lawyer, then made a lot of money in business that he set up with a friend, then went into politics. Blotted his copybook a few years back, but now a minister. Used to be very good looking but has now gone to seed somewhat.

motherinferior · 09/08/2017 08:16

I found a lot that I liked and also remembered a glorious red merino number I picked up in the AgeUK shop this summer!Smile

IDismyname · 09/08/2017 16:51

Ha! MrsS - its all soooooo predictable, non?

His background sounds like a derivation of an ex flame of mine. He was a bit of a wet rag when I knew him, but has gone on to make £££ - originally in partnership with a now MP.

My mother has never commented - other than what she finds out locally - on the fact we never stayed together.

(Now MP resigned from his part in the private enterprise)

But Hey! Money does NOT buy you happiness. FACT.

IDismyname · 09/08/2017 16:55

Oh, MrsS (and other gin loving Crepeys) - I tried a new gin the other day, which was rather nice and rather different. Called Fishers Gin.

It was sold to me in a central London bar as being "locally distilled" - but on closer inspection, derivates from the Suffolk coast. Barman talking out of his nether regions...

Never mind. It was worth it.
Fishers Gin

NoCureForLove · 09/08/2017 17:54

I'm heading to the home of Fishers Gin on Saturday. Will keep a beady eye out. Have you viewed the video on the website "Our Story". Hilarious (ly) awful.

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2017 18:54

But you can be miserable in comfort, Airborne, rather than something that resembles a student squat.

I am currently drinking Old Tom gin, which is not as dry as London dry gin, but not as sweet as Dutch genever. I have run out of normal drinking gins and only have poncetastic gins left. But never mind, it's still gin.

I have been in a foul mood and very unhappy today but not really sure why.

msmargarita · 09/08/2017 19:12

Sounds horrible, Mrs S. any options to alleviate the unhappiness? I can't remember what family configuration you gave around at the moment.

bigTillyMint · 09/08/2017 19:42

Old Ton gin - is that onevfor us crepeys? Grin

Is it a DH-related foul mood? Or AF?

Cremolafoam · 09/08/2017 20:25

Oh Damn you Johnnie Boface. NO cashmere left for me, so have been refunded. Without gift voucher , so had to phone Johnnie, who makes plaintive apologies while you are waiting in the queue.
F'sake. And just when I've had the sodding voucher returned to me ( the Boden customer service damsel made a scoffy noise implying that 'I'd not get much for that,') rah!

Mrs S , sorry you are feeling pants. Come and sit beside me on the nhs waiting room chair.

MI, interesting about the chasser cashmere isn't it? I have a great red cardigan in cashmere which I wear as a dressing gown. ( get me and my loungewear - it's a thing you know)

Dh had a most interesting gin drink at the weekend. It was Short Cross, feverfew ginger ale and local honeycomb ( a sliver in the slim slim glass- tres chic)

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2017 22:18

Neither, BTM. AF finally finishing. I am getting very fed up with all of the bollocks I am dealing with at work.

NoCureForLove · 09/08/2017 22:37

How much longer do you have to stick it out Mrs S?

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/08/2017 22:44

Around a couple more months. I have some leave booked here and there to break up the time. It should be quiet now but it is hideously busy. I fell asleep when I came home tonight. It is just overwhelming, chaotic and so badly run.

IDismyname · 10/08/2017 07:20

MrsS - I had my passport photos taken the other day for my student card. Woop de Whoop!

You need to practice a bit of visualisation....

Your day is your own.... get up in your comfy stuff. Eat healthy breakfast at home. Waft into college to do your 'quota' for that day. Come home via gym - nice Personal trainer on hand to help and to mop your brow- have lunch. Slob in front of Judge Rinder/Escape to the Country/whatever, whilst absorbing new subject.

Fold up a small pile of laundry just before homecoming to make it look like you've made an effort.

Get DH to cook supper.

And repeat.

(Sorry it's so pants for you )

IDismyname · 10/08/2017 07:28

NoCure Ha! The website made me smile, too. It was like some hipster had waved a marketing wand over the whole thing.

Trouble is, it's actually quite nice stuff.

I think I'm a bit 'ginned out'. Either that, or there is a LOT of very similar gins out there. I've got some Norfolk gin called Shuck on the go which was beautifully presented but tastes like Gordon's (to my palate).

Need to take up MrsSs suggestion of Ophir. I think I might like that.

Cremolafoam · 10/08/2017 14:20

I like the Tanqueray No10 gin bottle.

I have not smoked for 365 days. Smile

magimedi · 10/08/2017 16:13

WELL DONE, CREM!!!!!!!!!!!! An amazing feat.

I'm heading for 5 years, but I still vape.

Do any other Crepeys smoke?

Cremolafoam · 10/08/2017 16:56

Well I don't wish to dob anyone in.Grin
I read the Allen Carr book. And it worked even though I am a big fat cynic. Yeh!

IDismyname · 10/08/2017 17:41

Thats a MASSIVE achievement doing 365 days smoke free!

Well Done YOU

FlipflopsOrWellieboots · 10/08/2017 17:46

BlushBlushBlush

FlipflopsOrWellieboots · 10/08/2017 17:46

But well done you, Crem!
