Many Thanks MrsS will take a look at that later.

MsMartini · 03/08/2017 08:55

Magi is right, Crem - their fork supper will be be vastly better because you are there.

motherinferior · 03/08/2017 09:46

And if they look snootily at you they can fork off.

Just finished The Reader on the 6.27. Strange storyline, but kept me reading and I was a bit disappointed it ended so abruptly!

magimedi · 03/08/2017 20:02

Good news from here - DIL has had the results of her foetal (sp?) blood test back & all is OK.

I am very relieved & looking forward to the arrival of PFGC mark 2 in mid January.

MsMartini · 03/08/2017 20:47

Magi, I am grinning for you, great news!

msmargarita · 03/08/2017 21:30

Good news, Magi!

Crem, I'm with whoever said rocky the arty look - so even if it's not a silk dress do you don't wear it like that - you are fab.

ps Would have known it was NI from the 3 or 4 puddings on offer ... no skimping in that area

motherinferior · 03/08/2017 21:57

Yay to the Magibrood!

IDismyname · 03/08/2017 22:35

Just read your thread MrsS and am horrified at what you (all) went through. However, I feel sad that we could find ourselves in a similar situation with SS and or GP. The situation with those agencies has got worse- not better in the 2 years since it happened.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/08/2017 23:37

Airborne - the only helpful people were the police when I called 101. They went round and saw what he was like and got social services to engage... for a few weeks. But he kept refusing the sheltered accommodation they offered him, and once he had refused three, I think they were no longer obliged to help him.

NUFC69 · 04/08/2017 07:26

MM, that's excellent news.

Crem, how are you today? And what about you, Auriga?

DH got his new varifocals yesterday, so the first thing he does this morning is miss the bottom step of the stairs and end up in a heap. Fortunately he is fine, if bruised, and it's not stopping him going out on his bike today. I, on the other hand, will finish the shopping and wait for DSis and her DH to arrive this afternoon. At least the weather forecast for the weekend has improved.

bigTillyMint · 04/08/2017 13:59

Great news MM Smile

Cremo how are you doing today?

Eeek re varifocals NU. I am dreading the day I have to get them.

It is 38 degrees here today #fightingovertheparasols Grin

MsMartini · 04/08/2017 14:14

I love my varifocals - you do get used to them but they are pricey!

MsMartini · 04/08/2017 14:14

BTM, how are you all coping in the heat?

msmargarita · 04/08/2017 14:23

BTM and NoCure - how were the queues? we are heading to gatwick tomorrow morning - apparently one of the busiest of the year, so wondering how many extra hours to leave ...

motherinferior · 04/08/2017 15:40

I love my varifocals too!

Cremolafoam · 04/08/2017 16:44

Another who loved my vfocals.now just have reading specs, but finding it weird not to wear specs all the time.

Doctor took more bloods and nodded head a lot. Says i am tired because Im depressed or other tosh. Wont increase levothyroxine bc its the 'correct dose.' I disagree. Came away FURIOUS Angry
Only just calming down now.
So ill just shut up then.Sad

bigTillyMint · 04/08/2017 16:48

MsMarg, Gatwick has got to be better than Stansted. Allow plenty of time just in case!

MsMartini, by hopping in and out of the pool, sitting under the parasols when feeling red and lying on the bed with a fan blasting on me! I am quite looking forward to the journey in the aircon car tomorrow!

IDismyname · 04/08/2017 16:49

Ringbefore they close Crem and go and see diff GP on Monday.

You need second opinion - and soon.

bigTillyMint · 04/08/2017 16:50

Oh Cremo Sad Is there another GP at the practice that you could see to get a second opinion? Or elsewhere?

Rosenspants · 04/08/2017 16:59

Oh no Crem. Is there no way you can to a consultant endocrinologist?

I don't mind admitting that I am glad not to be in red hot Southern Europe at the moment. We nearly melted in Montreux last summer and the hotel only had fans...they said they rarely ever felt the need for AIrCon in Switzerland. Well blimey there's a first time for everything...it was in the mid 30s even then....

magimedi · 04/08/2017 17:12

Crem you must push to see someone else & keep pushing until you do.

NoCureForLove · 04/08/2017 17:52

We flew from Stanstead and got there 2 hours pre flight and it was fine. Security queue looked horrific but moved quickly. We only had hand luggage s9 didn't have to do luggage drop and had done boarding passes at home. Good luck.

IDismyname · 04/08/2017 18:50

In LEL news, she's taken a turn for the better...

On my last visit, I told her to get dressed and go and see the docs for blood tests the next day, and to call me when she'd done so.

I think she feels that nobody cares for her much, and the fact that I go round and give her a (gentle) kick up the arse, and tell her to report back, seems to do the trick.

She was at the docs at 0815 yesterday morning...

However, I am aware that things will not generally improve...

In Design News (because like it or not, you may be getting some...) I visited Charleston today - the country house of the Bloomsbury Set. Fascinating place - quite inspirational. Went with my old ladies who cackled all the way along the A272 about pelvic floors, and were very good companions.

I do want to be an old lady soon, as they have a huge preoccupation with cakes. Until you're an old lady, its just not the 'Done Thing' to be that interested.

msmargarita · 04/08/2017 18:50

Thanks, BTM and NoCure. Will allow extra time in case - luxury breakfast at eat or pret not really a problem.

Crem - that's appalling. Agree with others - different GP?
