I would be quite happy with a package to Spain, as long as I can sit and look at the sea and swim in it, that will do me fine. He doesn't like beaches, people, the sea...

WE NEED ANOTHER THREAD TITLE

Dd1 is being arsey at me. She is tired and hungry. I'd suggested we went out. She went to sleep. I fixed myself supper. Now she's awake and saying it was 'kinda mean' of me. AIBUAngryAngryAngry?

I am in a particularly vile mood this evening. Was supposed to go for a drink with a friend, but he cancelled. Didn't get a place on a language course I'd applied for (in country), despite being told, when I put my application in, that it was "very strong." Friend who cancelled drinks asked me if I could do coffee tomorrow pm, despite me telling him that tomorrow was out, as going to another friend's funeral. I am having to do this via his PA who is very defensive of him and quite officious, and asked me "how well do you know him?" I refrained from saying "I've seen his cock" and merely said we were old friends. Going to Cornwall for a few days with DD2, to stay with friends (that she knows) and she said she doesn't want to stay with people she doesn't know well. (They have a daughter her age and they get on well.)

Have decided on September for a holiday with DH but he doesn't know where he wants to go or what he wants to do...

It was horrible getting in but blissful once there! Now enjoying fish and chips (without the chips).

Blimey - I bet N sea was icy!

The sea here is warmer this summer than I have ever known it - last time I looked it was 19.5C which is pretty warm for here.

Lots of swimming action on this thread! Just back from bracing swim in the North Sea. Brrrrrrr. But warm glow of satisfaction afterwards. Having a nice cup of tea and a sit down now.

Good to hear your hol was so peaceful. V happy that the fleece got used.

I am shortly off for a swim on the 'top of the tide'.

Report
MsMartini · 14/08/2017 12:52

Back from lovely hol. Magi, I wore your fleece every day, perfect after swimming (warmed me up very quickly but very light to wear) or sitting out in evening catching evening sun. Unusually harmonious, not quite sure what came over us, our holidays usually involve at least one major meltdown.

Crem, that sounds gorgeous! Hang on in there.

Airborne, does your course start soon? I like having the tv to myself, even when all is peace and love here (relatively).

He just forgot to send me his usual 'ok' email that morning. And then I couldn't get hold of him.

V excited to discover a friend of mine has another friend who has just finished the course that I'm due to start. (Are you still with me?)

I don't want to scare her off with too many questions, but can't work out where to start... Did you enjoy it? Is probably a good start.

MI sorry to hear about DF but a big PHEW that he's OK. I've had 3 occasions in the last. 36 hours where I've had to take a deep breath to avoid losing it, after having to refer to stuff about my DF. You think you're starting to get over it, and then WHAM!! It's back....

Got 36 hours of solitude in the house. DH headed north with hobby kit. Going to do Footner tomorrow and catch up on TV stuff. If I have to watch another BBC4 programme about something factual and war related, I'm going to crack. They're good programmes. Just not what I need at 8pm.

MrsS Needs to start with "I'm Tallin You..."

Oh Rosen , I can see what you mean, but honestly I don't think it was an attack.Flowers

Very jealous of Hampstead pool MI. And very sorry to hear your ddad disappeared. Can't wait to get into some wild swimming pools up in the Garrotxa in Spain. Wish I could find a decent pool here as swimming would suit me at the minute.

Grrreat shoes Flipflops. Good standing about height and super colour. Star

Have been distinctly off colour today. Very strange and unexpected d&v and extremely tired.
Have done nothing but loll today. Hmm

Back to reading recommendations: I've just finished The Girls (bought at the airport last summer but never read). It's a very good picture of what I imagine life is like as an ignored teenager - not unloved but unnoticed by parents with issues of their own. And the awful consequences. I imagine it's accurate because thankfully my growing up was nothing like this. And given the author credits her parents in the acknowledgements I assume it's imagined on her part too. I certainly hope so.

No, I don't think that was an attack, Rose.

Ds has been packed off for his first festival with one of his best buddy and his interesting dad! Camping for three days then festival from Thursday to Sunday in Wales.

Tomorrow dd comes back from her festival tomorrow Grin only two more for her this summer!!!

I honestly don't think that was really an attack, Rose, but sympathise.

(I have as you know MAJOR ISHOOS about my looks/body/weight and find it very hard to find anything nice about them on a bad day, even now.)

Do you like these, Mrs S?

I might team these with my red Phase 8 dress for the wedding, but I need to see the red in RL, as it may not be right for the dress.....

We need a new thread title.

In S & B news, I want a pair of red flattish shoes for work. Not completely flat, because I waddle when I walk if they are completely flat. I had a wonderful pair a few years ago that got ruined in the rain at a BP garden party (hat had to be thrown out too) and have never found any as good since. I am like Carrie Fisher in When Harry Met Sally (one of my favourite films) "Oh - I've been looking for a red suede pump." Grin I also need a good haircut, a new face and to lose three stone, but I think the shoes will be easier.
