Thats great MrsW.

Marathon and weightlifting? Shock

MsMartini · 16/06/2017 11:23

Maid, lifting callouses?

MrsW, well done the dds. One up, one down here - dd just got her finals result and all good and set fair for next year. ds managed to stay awake much of the night before two A levels today - has done one, struggled, is off to find a sofa or bush to lie on/under.

MsMartini · 16/06/2017 11:24

And that's amazing about the marathon, Maid. I like a bit of weightlifting (in circuits classes so not heavy, very satisfying though!).

MaidOfStars · 16/06/2017 11:28

PAHusband is not impressed with the combination of increased grip strength and rough, hobnail skin.

Congratulations to all the youngster exam success, and good luck for future ones. When do they finish? End of the month?

Modestine · 16/06/2017 11:35

Hmm, a new aim...lifting callouses...well done and welcome, Maid.

MaidOfStars · 16/06/2017 11:37

I would try to avoid callouses if possible. They bloody hurt when they rip off. Grin

motherinferior · 16/06/2017 12:23

DD1 has gone to her Playgroup BFF's after her last-but-one exams. I am trying ineffectively to focus on a project I find v hard to organise. I suspect some lunch and possibly a trip down the road to get my toenails painted will help!

bigTillyMint · 16/06/2017 14:30

Ooh err MaidGrin

Well done to your DD MsMartini!

IDismyname · 16/06/2017 14:40

Its the one bit of my fitness 'regime' (Ha! What a laughable word!) that is missing. I don't do enough weights.

Not too sure if I want to now Ive seen your hands, Maid - mine are crappy enough as it is!

In other news I went to Docs this morning for more HRT, and she told me that I have the blood pressure of a teenager!! Go ME. The 'regime' is paying off. Just got to loose about 2 bloody stone.

(I told her NOT to look at my last cholesterol test as that does not put me into any teenage category AT ALL)

MsMartini · 16/06/2017 15:01

Airborne, way to go! I have found weights/resistance very soothing on the stress front.

Maid, I haven't had much sleep and read "callouses" as a typo for say "80kg barbell" - not a side effect - duh Grin.

Thanks, BTM she is very chuffed. Having been bonkers with tension for two days she is now bonkers with joy - and off on holiday tomorrow (wish I was).

Yes, that's right! (have reported post as name in it).

Blackduck · 16/06/2017 16:55

Checking in - will catch up later!

I am off home to deal with the bodies from the (bee we think) swarm...

NoCureForLove · 16/06/2017 17:08

Oh God. I'm sorry - what did I post?? Don't answer! I think I can guess. Apologies.

NoCureForLove · 16/06/2017 18:17

Is it safe to come back?

Have just purchased these beauties. I shall probably wear them with socks... www.lottafromstockholm.co.uk/clogs/low-heel-clogs/low-peep-toe-silver.html

MaidOfStars · 16/06/2017 18:54

I can't lift 80kg.

76kg is my PB Grin

I will get there.

NoCure They look excellent with tights. So I see from the ad thumbnail.

bigTillyMint · 16/06/2017 19:18

Love them Love. But not with socksShock

NoCureForLove · 16/06/2017 19:20

I think I could style it out BTM!

Rosenspants · 16/06/2017 21:05

Really trendy Love... aren't they a bit hard on the soles though? Is that why you'll be wearing them with socks? Grin

All quiet here...resting my weary bones. I am worried about the state of the house and us generally. DS1 is bringing his GF to tea tomorrow for the first time. I have very little time to make anything, and even less to tidy up. I suspect we will use the garden. What can I throw together quickly?

MrsKlugscheisser · 16/06/2017 21:07

WEAR THEM WITH SOCKS? ShockShockShock

DD2 thought you were one of the "cool crepey." I am not sure what she will say to SOCKS WITH SANDALS. Are you a 70 year old man called Bert?

bigTillyMint · 16/06/2017 21:24

Grin MrsK.

Rose, stop fretting. I bet your house is plenty up to scratch. Shes probably way more nervous than you!

Stropperella · 16/06/2017 21:27

I say go for the socks. Flowery ones. That's what I do. Grin

NoCureForLove · 16/06/2017 21:42

unless they are hideous / a bad fit / v uncomfortable I will wear them to the next MU - with socks... you can roll your eyes at me in person...

MrsKlugscheisser · 16/06/2017 21:49

I think you should wear a long denim skirt, Rose, a long sleeved shapeless T shirt and a hat, and fuss around the girl non-stop. Grin (Meet the Frummers!)
