Ooh, that Prada bag... I am in lust.

HoneyDragon · 22/01/2017 11:02

I like the bright blue one Agent it would match my M&S shoes lovely Grin

Ollycat · 22/01/2017 11:04

The APC half moon is a great bag - I have been debating getting one for a while - they were oos but are back in - only just over £300 (obv not a touch on a Prada)

Spice22 · 22/01/2017 11:06

With that, I'd get the 'Miss Dior Promenade' . I feel Dior is so overlooked but gorgeous ! If you had £1k more, I'd say the Diorama.

The ones are mentioned are more evening bags though. If you want Day bags, I could recommend: Balenciaga city, Celine belt bag (might be above budget - can't remember), and Louis Vuitton

titsbumfannythelot · 22/01/2017 11:06

Enjoy your new bag whatever you choose op.

I bet your mum would have been delighted that you got a mulberry bag Kirriemuir Flowers

LBOCS2 · 22/01/2017 11:12

OP, I know nothing of bags (but there are clearly some people here who know a lot) but I just wanted to say that when we had our third loss on the bounce, I spent some of the money we'd been saving for my potential maternity leave on a Kitchenaid. Because it made me happy, and I was sad.

And you know what? It still makes me happy.

Buy the damn bag and have absolutely no qualms about doing so. Sometimes buying stuff does help.

RainbowDashing · 22/01/2017 11:18

Fuck me some people are sanctimonious. OP has the money, she has her reasons (which incidentally are NONE OF OUR BUSINESS), she's clearly stated in the thread title what the thread is about, and people still think it's OK to slate her? Her £1300 is waaaay more than I'll ever have to spend on a single item like a bag but I wouldn't dream of pissing on the OP's chips because her budget is more than mine. Very odd behaviour.

OP in answer to your question, well I have no fucking idea Grin but I love to live vicariously through these threads. Can I ask, if one spends this amount of money on a bag, do you treat it better than say a £50 bag from dotty P's or a 5p carrier bag from tesco? I tend to be a bit rough with bags and I'm not sure I could spend that much and then live in fear of damaging it... Does the £££ make them more robust?

I'm off to etsy now to dribble over hand made natural leather bags. Mmmmm.

UptheAnty · 22/01/2017 11:22

I recently purchased the large mulberry zipped Bayswater in black. It is beautiful.
I'm very happy with my purchase 😁

I have 5 mulberrys and a Chloe - I covet a Chanel..
I've never felt the need to justify my bags to myself or anyone else. They make me smile and I really enjoy them.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 22/01/2017 11:29

Disclaimer: Not a judgy statement on the OP who can buy whatever she wishes if she has the money (and I'm really sorry about your news OP) but being perfectly honest...
Bags are not my 'thing' and I would never be able to spend such an a amount on myself regardless of the item, a) because I'm poor and b) because I'd feel too guilty...
but the one posted above by FuckDietCoke is actually really nice. Smile

Ollycat · 22/01/2017 11:32

ThoraGruntwhistle but still a judgy post wasn't it - the OP asked what bag she should buy with her money not whether ThoraGruntwhistle would feel guilty...

ThoraGruntwhistle · 22/01/2017 11:36

It isn't meant to be. It's just, I would feel a certain way, I'm not saying she should as well. She can afford it and feels like she wants to buy it and that is absolutely fine and fair. At least I didn't say give it to charity or whatever.

MotherFuckingChainsaw · 22/01/2017 11:41

. I go with the old architect's saying - spend the most on things you touch every day

I bloody love that, I'm going to start using that one.

I know jack shit about bags, (don't have one, I shove things in pockets or do without) and I'm sorry the reason you can afford one is such a sad one. I came on to past a facetious comment about buying a bike with that sort of money - I got a modest cash inheritance when someone dear to me died and did just that. But it tallies with the statement above, I bought something I love and use daily.

Hope you find a beautiful bag and it makes you smile every time you pick it up :)

catinbooots · 22/01/2017 11:44

Oh you absolute martyr you chuck

BULLSHIT

Perfectlypurple · 22/01/2017 11:49

As usual people talking crap about how they would give the money to charity or whatever. It is the ops money to spend as she chooses. She has her reasons, not that they are anyone else's business. I personally love bags but would find it hard to spend that much in a bag as I am far too sensible but I don't slag off people that do. Each to their own. Op I hope you find an amazing bag.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 22/01/2017 11:53

How come you don't see this on other threads? If OP asked for suggestions for a honeymoon or expensive holiday no one would be coming on all Judgy McJudgington. Or a car or a kitchen appliance etc.

I think expensive weddings are a spectacular waste of money but I don't go on threads about expensive weddings and say 'go down the registry office and give the rest of the money to charity'.

ShoutOutToMyEx · 22/01/2017 11:54

But none are 'Hobo' styled. Do you really not see how insulting this is to homeless people who cannot afford a roof over their head - taking their 'style' and making a mint from it? I mean that really is taking the piss.

Are you joking?! The Hobo is the name of a bag by Chloe. That's the 'style' PP are referring to - bags similar to that one. Not dressing like people who are homeless, for laughs.

AgentProvocateur · 22/01/2017 11:54

@HoneyDragon, we could go halfers on it and have it on a bag-share agreement Wink

ChuckSnowballs · 22/01/2017 12:27

Oh you absolute martyr you chuck - BULLSHIT

Sorry - what is bullshit? I do not have a dishwasher, wear jewellery and my phone is a work one. I am not a logo type. My bestest ever birthday present was about 5 tonnes of manure for my allotment. And what has it got to do with you? Are you saying only people with dishwashers, bling and smartest smart phones are allowed an opinion?

Kateallison16 · 22/01/2017 12:31

You could pick up a vintage Chanel, that's what I'd do!
To be fair preloaded Chanel is about that price range. I would. Quality that holds its value over time.

Kateallison16 · 22/01/2017 12:31

preloved Confused

SantaClausMortificado · 22/01/2017 12:36

I don't know OP. I had been lusting after a Givenchy Antigona bag which I thought I was going to buy... I was v. close to deciding to buy it... until on a thread I posted earlier someone told me it was sported by the likes of Kim Kardashian!

I don't think I can bring myself to do it now. It's such a beautiful bag and might spacious.

ShoutOutToMyEx · 22/01/2017 12:40

Oh Santa get it. To be honest I think Kim K owns most designer bags, if you followed that logic there'd be nothing left to buy! Grin

Moreisnnogedag · 22/01/2017 12:43

Oh give over Chuck - well done you've done your virtue signalling. We bow done to your superior way of living. Personally that kind of frugal living (unless needed money wise) seems a bit hair shirt but each to their own.

OP I love threads like these where I can live vicariously and for once change the banner ads to something more sophisticated (I made the made mistake of looking up portaloos last week and they are following me everywhere). Buy what makes you smile Flowers

dun1urkin · 22/01/2017 12:46

I've got a Givenchy Antigona.
I love it, it's perfect for work.
It's unlikely that I'll run into Kim Kardashian so she needn't worry that she'll get embarrassed having the same bag as meGrin
