Do we have a 2017 'princessing' thread?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/01/2017 14:26

Last year I joined a lovely long running thread which really motivated me to take a bit more care of myself and massively boosted my self esteem. I ended up quitting sugar and losing 2 stone.

Would anyone like a similar type thread, or is there currently one running?

My goals for January are:
No drinking in the week
8 glasses of water
Cut out the sugar and half the carbs (BSD)
Give my lumea one last chance before I give up on it and Ebay it
Get a skincare routine going (starting with removing makeup everyday!)
Get myself a footner online and do my trotters
Sort out my eyebrows (currently look like two sleeping cocker spaniels on my face)

Anyone with me?

RealHouswifeofBury · 04/01/2017 23:25

Had a day off today so really got stuck in.

Walked 10k steps
Had a bath
Hair removal
Sorted eyebrows
Deep hair conditioner
Body scrub and lotion
Did nails and painted toes
Drank 1ltr of water, I really need to up this.
Also sorted my wardrobe out and put outfits together for the rest of the week

Little bit of early morning princessing: washed and blow dried hair with the wonder balm and hair oil from my M&S advent calendar Smile it's almost duchess of Cambridge worthy Grin

Not feeling particularly princessy today, although I had a reasonable nights sleep for a change. Tonight, definitely, is bath night! I have loads of lovely products for Christmas and haven't managed to coordinate dh being home, kids not being demanding, and remembering to put the water on yet!! I have filed my nails though, and done my eyebrows!

Golden the shampoo is their own range (cien I think it's called) and I have used the green one. They do 2 types at my lidl, this is the more expensive one (99p rather than 59p!!) and it looks like a copy of Pantene in a white bottle.

Not such a great day for me in terms of princessing. Didn't sleep well last night and this morning the scales say I have put on weight. Sad However, skin is looking really quite nice at the moment, so not all bad.

Moaningmyrtille · 05/01/2017 13:33

I'm on my 3rd day of super healthy princess eating. I think im getting used to it now. This has been the first lunchtime I haven't been desperate for bread. Really focusing on just getting to the weekend. Hopefully by then I'll have lost a little bit of bloat. I've never given up bread before so I'm not sure how long it will take.

I gave myself a manicure yesterday and it's holding up quite well. I feel a bit special with my colourful finger nails today.

Next week I'm going to copy the previous posters and start focusing on my water intake.

Amazon told me my footner was dispatched today!

Princessing on hold until I have a working boiler. What I'm doing now is more like 'tramping' - I can't wait for a warm bath and a hair wash!

Scarf you're in for such a treat!!

Not particularly princessy today as I'm decorating so in my oldest clothes and covered in paint. I think this is actually me at my happiest! I have lost 3.5lb after 5 days on BSD so I feel a lot less bloated as most of that is water weight off my stomach. The weekend is my danger zone so will need to tread carefully around snacks and alcohol!

Have a great weekend princesses!

I've been rubbish so far but I have eaten some fruit and done my Davina Fit DVD today glosses over the wine and chocolate last night

Hope the hot water is back on Moogdroog

Moaningmyrtille · 06/01/2017 15:17

Thenewaverage what's BSD? I think I need this if you can loose 3.5lb in 5 days.

I'm on day 4 of healthy eating. I don't own scales yet but I know I've been good. The weekend is so hard for me, if I can get through this I'll have made progress.

Do you think drinking litres of pierrier count as water intakeWink

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/01/2017 16:13

Moaning it's Michael mosely's blood sugar diet. There's a long running thread in the fasting /5:2 section.
The basic premise is : less than 50g carbs, and no refined sugars. He also recommends for people who are type 2 diabetic to do 800 calories a day. I did it very successfully for 8 weeks, but probably only managed 1000 calories a day, and still lost 21lb in 8 weeks. I then lost another half stone on a maintenance plan. I have since reintroduced all the carbs and have put a few back on so I'm trying again. I haven't calorie counted this week but I've had low carbs, no sugar (except for my little binge on Tuesday!).
It works for me because the high fat/low carb is very satisfying and it really does stop me thinking about food all the time. Some on the thread do a sort of 5:2 approach where they don't calorie count for 5 days and do 800 cals on 2 days a week.

Plan for today is having my eyebrows threaded in town and getting some hair treatment/mask- I need volume and bounce and shine!
I also got a water bottle for home, trying to keep that up.
My skin is awful!! So I'll attempt a facial (home made) too. Nails need doing too. I've got very sparkly silver glitter nail varnish on my toes, it's fun.

FishlessCake · 07/01/2017 06:50

Footner done last night and I've now been soaking my feet in a pan of very hot water for the last hour. Last time I did this twice a day and it really helped. I've done the exercise DVD every day and I've got some weights coming today. Will weigh myself on Tuesday Smile

Hello all may I join?
I'm currently cataloging my entire wardrobe. I found an app you can add pictures of all your clothes and use to build outfits and keep track of what you own. So I've pulled everything out and having a good look at what I've got before it goes back in. In doing so whilst trying everything I've realised how much weight I've put on so I'll be tackling that at some point soon also.

JemimaMuddledUp · 07/01/2017 18:18

Week 1:
Walk for 30 mins every day - yes, some days more
Swim twice a week - yes
Eat 7 portions of fruit and veg each day - yes
Drink 2 litres of water every day - yes
Track calories on MFP, aim to lose a stone by Christmas 2017 - yes, but did go over calories on one day (Chocolate Hobnobs were to blame)
Cleanse and moisturise every day. Use the contents of my M&S beauty advent calendar - yes
Hair cut and eyebrow shape every 6 weeks - not due until the end of the month
File and paint nails weekly - had to take nail polish off as it chipped and haven't had time to re-do them, but they are tidy
Moisturise body every day after shower - yes.

So it hasn't been a bad week. Have also booked on to an Aquafit class and am considering Pilates too.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/01/2017 18:26

I've been pretty successful on the diet front this week but not really on the princessing! I just don't seem to be able to make time to do it, and I guess this is why I only really go the extra mile for myself when I really need to.

I've been drinking more water and walking, etc. but I think I've only worn makeup once this week and haven't blow dried my hair before going out for example. Must try harder this week!

Stuck to the Veganuary-not been to hard but maybe not as healthy as could be.

Increased water intake.

And I have booked an eyebrows appointment.

Next week.

Increase fruit and veg to at least 6 a day.

Start a nail regime. Hands and feet

I am adding 2 each week but am also adding.
To cleanse skin properly. I mainly do this but will sometimes be a bit slap dash. So to ensure daily deep clean and moisturiser.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/01/2017 21:08

Now that New Year is out of the way (and I go back to work on Monday) I can plan.
I had a week of holiday to visit my DParents (they can't travel now so we didn't spend Christmas together)

I've discovered my Aldi serums (from my advent calender) make my eyes sting (like all the other Aldi creams I've tried) so they're strictly for below my cheekbones, I can't be having stingy rivers of tears.

I bought myself a Boots moisture lotion ( £4 bargain Grin)
A blue jumper (I don't buy anything pale blue, but I used a blue towel at DParents and thought Oh i like this colour on me so , out of my comfort zone, try something new.

I'm going to weigh/measure every Sunday morning before eating or drinking to keep a check. I want to lose some weight and inches but not sure how much yet.

Need to do another wardrobe cull

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/01/2017 21:26

I'm going to use superdrug body butters on my legs all year round.
Buy quality basics off jaegers outlet site.

Stop drinking during the week.
Save up for ester lauders advanced night repair serum.
Buy Eve lom rescue mask off eBay.

RealHouswifeofBury · 07/01/2017 21:37

I treated myself to Ren 1minute facial mask today out of some Christmas money.
My skin is lovely and glowing
