Do we have a 2017 'princessing' thread?

Last year I joined a lovely long running thread which really motivated me to take a bit more care of myself and massively boosted my self esteem. I ended up quitting sugar and losing 2 stone.

Would anyone like a similar type thread, or is there currently one running?

My goals for January are:
No drinking in the week
8 glasses of water
Cut out the sugar and half the carbs (BSD)
Give my lumea one last chance before I give up on it and Ebay it
Get a skincare routine going (starting with removing makeup everyday!)
Get myself a footner online and do my trotters
Sort out my eyebrows (currently look like two sleeping cocker spaniels on my face)

Anyone with me?

Really enjoying reading what others have been up to. I especially love the idea of deep cleaning the bathroom in preparation for lovely relaxing baths!

I've been quite busy today: as well as keeping my food resolutions, I have washed my hair using the condition-wash-condition method. Really nice. Also used my new House of Mistry shampoo and conditioner: SLS and silicone free and smells gorgeous. Unfortunately hair is still looking fried at the ends, so I think there's no avoiding it - I need a good few inches lopped off at my next hair appointment. Sad

I've also done a posh REN face mask today (found a free sample when I was clearing out my drawers - hurrah!), tinted and tidied up my brows, dealt with a bit of facial hair and had a go at polishing my teeth with my (v. old fashioned) Eucryl tooth powder. As I type, I am sat with my feet in an Epsom salt bath. Am going to have a go at filing down my hooves in a min.

Today has been quite good:
Cleansed and moisturised morning and night, used an acid peel after cleansing tonight.
Moisturised after my shower this morning
Stayed within calories
Drank 2 litres of water
Went for a 30 minute walk at lunchtime

Packed my bag ready to go for a swim before work in the morning.

FuckingHateRats · 03/01/2017 21:40

Mixed bag today - did my hair and make up (because I was getting my passport photo taken haha), but day 1 of period and just generally feel like a mess. My skin is dire :(

Upsides. Started veganuary and can't wait to see my skin improve (and hopefully lose a few pounds!). Drinking she'd loads of water. Found an outfit for an interview next week that makes me feel good about myself.

Good day here!

Managed 9 glasses of water, had a face mask on and used my new hand creams.Grin

No need to be scared of footner, scarf, the results are AMAZING (if somewhat grotesque...) Grin

immaturecheddar · 04/01/2017 13:35

Don't be scared of footner, scarf! I have such fond memories of using mine back in the summer. Grin

StorminaBcup · 04/01/2017 14:15

I really want to try footner but I have swimming lessons every week and I don't want to scare the others with my peeling trotters. How long does it usually take?

Moogdroog · 04/01/2017 14:20

Can I join you too?
I managed to keep last year's resolution of being more groomed/less unkempt - my skincare is better, I'm enjoying make up again, been doing curly girl since Oct, got contact lenses and for a while got my PCOS hairy face under control.
I was hoping that this might break my feel shit/look shit/eat shit cycle and would result in some weight loss, bit despite doing intermittent fasting for about 4 months I lost nothing...

So this year:
Continue with good skincare/general grooming
Stop self destructive stress eating
Fire up the Lumea again
Henna my hair more often
Go for more walks, improve my fitness
Lose some weight
Make time for hobbies and relaxing

I'm very excited to have ordered my copy of footner off Amazon. Give your feet a good soak first, then soak every night until they start to peel. Exciting times! My dinosaur feet need a good peel, they are horrendous!
Dm bought me a foot filer thing for xmas, it's like an orbital sander for feet, but it literally hasn't done anything at all

I had my hair cut yesterday, nails painted and a big pot of lentil soup made. Still waiting on the footner to arrive hopefully tomorrow. I've had to go for the proper brand as the cheaper versions did nothing for me, but worried better for my mother. Been going to bed nice and early and up at 4.30 to do my fitness DVD. Grin

FishlessCake · 04/01/2017 15:58

*worked not worried Confused

LittleOyster · 04/01/2017 19:21

Welcome, Moogdroog.

Ooh, jealous of everyone who is doing footner. Can't justify any more S&B-related purchases this month - boo hoo.

StorminaBcup, a week sounds a bit dangerous. I am sure mine were mid-shed by then. Could you wear some of those rubber verruca socks, or would that be too weird?!?

What I have done today:

  • Kept to eating resolutions.
  • Removed old gel manicure and applied new polish.
  • Put pump bottle of hand cream in the bathroom to apply after hand-washing.
thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/01/2017 19:41

Fishless yes, I have also heard some stories of the copies not working, but I got 2 pairs for 4.99 instead of £15 each so I'm hoping that if the first one doesn't work then the second might! I'll keep you all posted!

I've been good for the last few days and tracked on the MFP pp - sneaky peak on the scales is currently showing a loss but i'm bloody starving and I'm about to do my nails if I can decide on a colour!

Golden the nicest conditioner I have found in recent months is, believe it or not, from Lidl. I think it's 99p a bottle! I have very thick hair but it goes very straw like and is prone to frizz. This find has revolutionised my hair!!

Moaningmyrtille · 04/01/2017 21:04

Thanks to all the posters talking about footner! I Google it and it looks like I need this in my life. I've just ordered it and can't wait for it to arrive and fix my horrible feet.

Princess wise I've managed to stay on my diet for 2 days now. I also did a hair conditioning mask, body hair removal, and gave myself a reasonable manicure today.

I love this thread, it's keeping me motivated.

Ferventfeminista · 04/01/2017 21:11

Can I join please?

My goals are:

Lose loads of weight (am low carbing on another thread)
Walk most days
Use sunscreen
Get my nails done regularly
Sort out my feet - have never tried Footner, may do that
Be happy!

I've just googled footner photos! LittleOyster I'll probably look a complete weirdo but the end results look great!

Fissplaps how are you getting on? I appreciate how hard it can be planning and coordinating all of the little things (which aren't so little when you're trying to do them).
