Frugal I like it! But you know it's my colour.

My latest is kiko sheer lipstick it makes darker colours easier to wear especially daytime and the packaging is gorgeous 😀

FreeButtonBee · 20/02/2017 12:05

Finally nearly finished the body shop rose atlas shower gel. Won't be sorry to see the back of that. I don't think I have much else in reserve for shower gels. Exciting!!! I get to go shopping!!

Other than that, finished a facial oil but have purchased another one (clarins blue orchid oil - v nice).

I have been under the weather so not much progress really. Certainly not on make up. Must do better

FrustratedFrugal · 20/02/2017 12:55

Thanks for encouragement, l do look slightly vampire-like post lunch with multiple layers of dark lippy but nobody has died yet Wink Enjoying the 1997 vibe...

Dragon I need more details / a pic re Kiko lipstick

I've been good for a long time and had strong urges to do some serious damage at &Other Stories last night but the shop had closed early

ButtonBee lots of bugs everywhere atm, hope that you will feel better soon!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 20/02/2017 13:11

Love it frugal. Will find a pic of my new Kiko plum lipstick. Lovely and smooth and on sale! Go wild ( and post pictures!)

Hi Plum welcome and so good to hear of others with overflowing drawers! I hear you on make up. The only way I use up things is conjuntivitis!
Foundation currently open is 2 bougois healthy mix (work and home!), Korean one (jelly thing I think, which I keep forgetting but love), mischa compact (car!), Charlotte tilbury, Kiko universal, 2 BB cream. Good grief. Must use up one!

FrustratedFrugal · 20/02/2017 17:14

I realized using up becomes progressively harder. When most samples and nearly used or half-used products are gone, progress is slower and a lot of dud products remain.

I am facing this hard, fruitless phase right now...

applesandpears33 · 20/02/2017 18:09

I know exactly what you mean Frugal. I'm slogging through a few full size products that I like but are taking ages to use up. I tried to make up a list of 12 products for the new challenge and was struggling to find 12 that I'd use up before Easter. Maybe 6 or 7 if I'm doing well.

woodhill · 20/02/2017 18:13

I'm using up other family members empties. A half full simple face wash with no lid (not me) but is ok in the mornings.

The big things do take ages to use.

Needastrongone · 20/02/2017 20:37

Really love that colour on you frugal, suits you very much.

Nothing to report here, spent a fortune on clothes but holding out on product. Smile

plum1304 · 20/02/2017 21:03

This is reassuring and good to be in like minded company!

My foundation stash is currently
A bottle of Nars sheer glow
2 bottles of Bobbi Brown in two different formulas and colours.
A Bobbi brown foundation stick
A Bobbi brown powder foundation
A Mally cushion foundation
A tube of Tarte 12hr coverage foundation
And at least 3 tubs of Bareminerals foundation in a range of colours.

Thats ten... really really bad!!

FiveShelties · 20/02/2017 21:58

Exactly the same here frugal, in fact most of my stuff does not seem to be even going down. I was hoping to have made a major dent by now but at least I am not buying so the stash is not increasing.

AlfaMummy · 21/02/2017 08:27

I have a couple of empties to report: a midi size Elemis Sharp Shower (nice minty smell which has helped with a cold) and a Charles Worthington shampoo (good but not amazing - did the job).

Good thing is I now get to 'go shopping' in the stash to pick out a new shower product!

FrustratedFrugal · 21/02/2017 08:41

FiveShelties and ApplesandpearsI am thinking of doing a revised list, 12 by Easter is probably too ambitious, five would be more realistic.

Whatever works - the key thing is that my stash is not growing uncontrollably and that I am enjoying and rediscovering products!

I am smitten with the black cherry lipstick. It looks good with anything winey and burgundy, but I discoverd that dark lippy can also work with a really bland outfit (pale blue 501s, soft white sweater, soft white coat).

This is what I love about using up: instead of always having to buy the newest thing, serendipitously finding gems in my stash and coming up with new ways of enjoying what I already have 💖

Re: dud products - what does not work for you may work for someone else.... maybe we could have a "swap shop"????!!!!!

May have acquired some bare minerals complexion corrector. But didn't buy it. or steal it

Am a mumsnet tester. Yay!

moogletea · 21/02/2017 19:59

I'd love s swap shop. I've got loads of bits I know I won't get round to (my beauty box habit may have enabled this 😳) or things that are just not right for me

kwick · 21/02/2017 20:12

Well done em I am very jealous

okay so how can we organise this swap shop...
