Yay kwick hope you were singing "driving home for xmas". I've just finished my last 24hr shift before xmas so treating myself to bacon roll!
Thanks for red lip love guys. Love this and will wear more red.
I've managed to finish a day cream, xmas hand cream from m&s and Liz Earle mask. Lovely and all sample sizes but still. Will be fake tanning like crazy to finish my 12 by xmas list!

applesandpears33 · 15/12/2016 10:39

Well done everyone on the empties. I'm still ploughing my way through some stuff and hope to have 10 empties by the end of the month.

FreeButtonBee · 15/12/2016 10:47

I can tell you aallll about greasy hair! Mine is awful. The tonic isn't so much for the grease as for the build up of what would be dandruff but because the grease, won't fall off so becomes a sort of greasy waxy build up on the scalp that you can scrape off with a nail, which then inflames the scalp. Niiiiiice. It's very soothing but doesn't really do a massive amount. The Philip Kingsley Itchy Flakey Scalp shampoo is brilliant though for the greasy scalp bit. Really deep cleanses, lifts all the crud but doesn't irritate at all. I now repeat buy (for about the past 8 years now!) in litre bottles. The only thing is it can leave your hair a bit dull which is why the search continues for a second shampoo and a conditioner to use after the PK to keep the condition of my hair nice without starting grease-mageddon. Swell (can buy in M&S) is nice although a bit too rich. Hairfix (available on QVC) is an old one I used to use and I am quite liking it again. They have a pre shampoo cleanser which is non-foaming which was amazing for degreasing my post twin babies hormonal hair. I've heard good things about the L'Oreal Clay one which I will try next once I've finished the old bottle of Hairfix.

Button have you tried Redken cleansing cream shampoo!! Love Redken

DragonNoodleCake · 15/12/2016 11:38

I haven't used anything in the last couple of days due to illness. However I plan to shave, pluck, scrub, smooth, slather myself silly tonight in prep for my weekend away

FiveShelties · 15/12/2016 14:34

An empty to report - No 7 Beautiful Skin Sumptuous Bath Milk, which I really liked. Absolutely positively no need to repurchase - many more in the queue.

The first thing I think of as I approach the end of something is how quick I can use it up to post on here about it!

kwick hope you are safely back at home.
Another - enjoy the bacon roll - 24 hour shifts sound like a very long time.
dragon enjoy your scrubbing and polishing---- and the week-end away.

I am off to have a wander around the Trafford Centre this evening - must resist all bargains, must resist all bargains etc etc Grin

kwick · 15/12/2016 18:27

Dragon I hope your intense session has gone well. Grin

free thanks for the advice. I have tried the Loreal clay range - did not really get on with shampoo, conditioner or dry shampoo but the pre-mask is good - I do not use that often. I might try the PK one... but first I am going to go nasty free and try a "faith in nature" or similar - before that I need to use up herbal essence shite.

five I am just the same - buy then want to use up so I can post about it!!

I just picked up a Boots haul - not sure why I ordered so much stuff - think it was for SIL present but not sure I really want to be that generous!

Oh and used the B superdrug micellar water last night... nearly killed my eyes Angry the quest continues!

DragonNoodle hope you are fine.

I had a momentary lapse of judgment today - Yves Rocher are closing their shop near me and everything was 50% off. So I did some quick swatching and bought two Grand Rouge lipsticks. I blame my lizard brain...

#redtillxmas Jungle Red in the morning, Bloody Mary at night

DragonNoodleCake · 15/12/2016 21:15

Just out of bath - I'm de-fuzzed and I used up 2 more products, the mask was 'meh' but I loved the scrub!!

kwick · 15/12/2016 21:28

frustrated you have a Yves Rocher shop near you??? I thought they were only online in the UK!!!

Nice work dragon!

Hmm my secret plan of using up the advent calendar products along the way is not working!! I have a massive hoard again! Oh well c'est la vie!!

kwick · 16/12/2016 07:25

Another gift I can use from advent!!!

Biore baking soda pore cleanser - really do not see what this did..

I have 3 entries left... on track for everything except the No7 cream eyeshadows... DO THEY NEVER END????

I have 7 left I think on my list.

The self tan moisturiser is refilling itself. It must be.

mowglik · 16/12/2016 07:58

Hehe kwick I like your notes under l'occitane body cream Grin

Just having a nosy at your list the glamglow eye bright thing looks interesting - is it any good??

Have one unexpected empty to report, biore uv milk spf50.. great stuff I have umpteen back ups of this (cost about £4 a bottle from Japan so I stocked up). I'm using sunscreen all the way through winter this year so I'm still getting through sunscreen quickly Halo

kwick · 16/12/2016 08:52

mow the Glamglow eye thing really stings and I have not noticed any real difference but I use very spordically. I do find that the application for one eye is enough for both.

My little finger decided to swell up and hurt overnight... nurse I have just seen at FC does not think it is a hormone side effect - so God knows what is wrong now!

Happy Friday!!

Found you!

Vichy Idealia was on my list to try one day but you've put me off with those bad reports, sounds vile.

Two new empties:

Mini cane sugar shower gel picked up from hotel on a trip to Germany last year - not bad for (mid-range) hotel stuff but you know, meh. Happy to have one less in the basket though.

GlamGlow Power Cleanse Daily Dual Cleanser sachet - mud & oil combo that you have to mix in your hand. Bit clatty from a sachet but presume better with real thing, depends what packaging is like. Quite liked the effect on T-zone, did actually feel a bit glowy, but too harsh for rest of my middle-aged wrinkly face at this time of year. Would need to be more impressed than that to foresake my Lush Ultrabland.

FrustratedFrugal · 16/12/2016 16:53

Kwick I'm not in the UK. I got used to having a b&m YR nearby when I lived in Italy. Their perfumes are quite decent. I haven't tried their makeup since the 1980s (did anyone else get free mini lipsticks back in the day?) but I heard good things about their Grand Rouge lipsticks and they are pretty good. I got Rose Sumptueux and Rouge Gourmand, a cool pink red and a blue-toned bright red, and both are lovely deep reds perfect for my coloring. Very creamy and they last until lunch. Like a budget version of Chanel. The only negative is their almond/marzipan smell - I prefer unscented lipsticks.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 16/12/2016 17:21

I too remember YR from school. Loved it!

We're in Copenhagen having a cheeky weekend away but DD has epic cold and no sleep last night so we'll see! And hotel is 2blocks from Sephora. Arghhhh and I bought 2 Bobbi Brown stick shadows which are so worth it in airport but I ignored mac and jo Malone so all good!
But it's happy hour so I'm 2 wines down so all ok! And still #redtillxmas!

Yes yes yes em my fake tan is breeding in cupboard I swear. Will have to smell of biscuits until 2017!
Hope finger is ok kwick
strawberry I love ultrabland too. Best cleanser for complete make up removal.

StrawberryandCreamPips · 16/12/2016 17:43

Lucky thing Pinkie, I love Copenhagen. And yes, I've been faithful to Ultrabland for several years now, it's so non-drying and gets rid of everything.

Joining in with the YR love. I'm not in UK either and we have several shops as well as mail order - like lots of their bits, esp. Serum Vegetal skincare range and arnica handcream. Latter cheap as chips but really works for me, always have a tube on the go. Self-tanning face and body lotions and sunscreens are pretty good too. Their mailshots with the daft stickers and all their free tat are bloody annoying after a while though.

I have Ultraband too - use when I travel although I think I prefer the Body Shop camomile cleansing butter...

Blimey where are all of you????
I love the Serum vegetal day cream - I have that and some serum in my stash Grin

WaxyBean · 16/12/2016 21:26

1 empty - a small tube of pur correcting primer illuminate and glow. Really liked this!

For those who asked about the hourglass foundation - it's beautiful, full coverage but very light. Lasts well on my oily skin (not many do!). You only need the tiniest amount and it's very easy to blend. Love it!

DragonNoodleCake · 16/12/2016 22:57

Where are you kwick?

FiveShelties · 16/12/2016 23:18

I remember YR too. Also around the time they were really popular I used to have a beauty box type thing which arrived every couple of months - cannot remember what it was called though. I used to love unpacking it to see what products were in it.

I have been a beauty products addict for sooooo long Grin

kwick · 17/12/2016 04:11

Waxy it was I that was asking after Hourglass... think this may be my next indulgence!!!

Dragon I am in London - I kinda assumed you lot were all in the UK but it looks like this is not the case!!!

Right must try and sleep some more - today is a big day!
