Do people still wear dressing gowns?

Do you wear a dressing gown? I feel like people don't anymore. I was thinking about what I wanted for Christmas. I have an old one on the back of my door but it isn't a nice colour or cosy so I don't wear it but would I wear one if I had one?

I wear mine all the time! Literally as soon as I get in from work I put it on and it doesn't come off until I go to bed, I luffs my dressing gown Grin

poochiepants · 23/11/2016 22:49

I do. It's very fluffy grey towelling and long, and was my 'comfort blanket' when I lived overseas....my OH calls it my Womble suit!

MarklahMarklah · 23/11/2016 22:49

Wore mine until lunchtime today mainly because I felt terrible and went back to bed wearing it as I was so cold.

Ellieboolou27 · 23/11/2016 22:51

I do in the winter

overwhelmed34 · 23/11/2016 22:51

I'm wearing mine right now!!

merrymouse · 23/11/2016 22:51

I think bath robes are good for pottering around after a bath or shower.

However, for just being cosy in the house I'd be more likely to wear a jumper and pyjamas.

All the time, me, both DDs and DS1s girlfriend are all sat watching telly in ours right now and I've brought DS1 a deessing gown for Christmas and I do believe DS2s gf has brought him one too!

BretonStripe · 23/11/2016 22:52

Loves my dressing gowns!

I have one big fluffy one, one waffle cotton one, and a thin silky one for summer Smile

sglodion · 23/11/2016 22:52

I wear mine every day. I have two on the go at the moment.

Passthecake30 · 23/11/2016 22:52

I love putting a dressing gown on... I have a summer one, a mid-year one and a floor length thick winter one Smile

misson · 23/11/2016 22:53

Yes. Otherwise I get cold eating breakfast shouting at the children just in my pj's.

Are your pj's really warm?

RealHouswifeofBury · 23/11/2016 22:54

I wear it all time. I love a soft, fluffy dressing gown

Judydreamsofhorses · 23/11/2016 22:55

I have a really lovely white waffle dressing gown, and very rarely wear it. I might put it on after a bath while I get ready to go out on an evening, but on weekdays just go straight from bed to shower in the t-shirt I've slept in. My DP sleeps naked and wears his more.

notangelinajolie · 23/11/2016 22:55

I live in mine Smile

DramaAlpaca · 23/11/2016 22:55

DH and all three of our adult sons are currently pottering around the house in theirs.

Two of the boys have asked for new ones for Christmas.

BUNMUM · 23/11/2016 22:55

I have a lovely soft fleece primark one, with a hood. Best present ever from my girls!

crunched · 23/11/2016 22:55

I do!
Cozy spotty one, velvety black one, summer silky one and sexy, sort of transparent one. HTH Halo

LtGreggs · 23/11/2016 22:55

I wear mine every day. Out of shower, dry off, dressing gown on while I sort of contact lenses, nag kids etc then go back to bedroom to get dressed. Lovely & cosy.

Also essential for kids night waking hassles (luckily not so many if those any more...)

It's currently -5 degrees here (urban Scotland). The dressing given is a fleecy lidl number :-)

sooperdooper · 23/11/2016 22:56

I put mine on every morning after I get out of the shower while I put my makeup on and ting

snowinafrica16 · 23/11/2016 22:56

I'm surprised at the question - surely anyone with small dc that get up at 4/5/6 wears them at least a couple of hours per day. I have 2 as the dc quite often smear breakfast on me or I drip coffee on myself when sleep deprived

1happyhippie · 23/11/2016 22:57

Yes. I love mine. It's fluffy and pink and so warm!
My dd have them, but they prefer onesies now.

Ditsy4 · 23/11/2016 22:59

I have a red one I have had for years and last year asked DH for a M&S. Purple one then I saw them and just bought it because the year before he left it too late and they had a horrible one left. Even DH thought it wasn't very nice. It is really cosy.Thick and fluffy. I kept old one in case I need to let hens out. Not risking hen poo on my new one.

notagiraffe · 23/11/2016 23:01

Every day. I have a fluffy one that needs replacing as it's quite old now, a silk embroidered one, a Japanese kimono and an elegant golden cotton weave one that DH bought me years ago. Also craving the silk giraffe one from River Island but don't need it. Just fancy swanning round in it. I'd live in them if I could.

gottachangethename1 · 23/11/2016 23:05

DD bought me a gorgeous M&S 'Rosie' one, super soft purple with a hood. I hate taking it off, tis so comfy.
