Autumn/Winter - what will you be wearing?

CaitAgusMadra · 01/08/2016 22:20

So now that it's officially autumn (kinda) and the weather has been crap here today what do you think you'll be wearing this autumn and winter?

Inspire me before I spend yet another winter wearing skinny jeans, ankle boots and slouchy knits

Are boyfriend jeans doable in winter? (I normally wear mine rolled up and I'm not a fan of cold ankles!)

My DMs
They are going to take some breaking in though!

I plan to wear them with black opaques and over the knee skirts/dresses.

I got the coat!!

It's really, really cool. A coat for kicking ass.

Thanks everyone for geeing me up. I don't know why I was farting around.

Well done Flo - it was obviously meant to be as they say!

Really like those DM's Remus - off to google

Yay Flo! Can we have a photo please?!

My AW budget has just been trashed by needing glasses and my car deciding it's not going to work properly. This is unfair and means I now only have about £100, with which I want a winter coat in a dark colour, black ankle boots, some proper grown up trousers (possibly wide legged), burgandy jumper and various other suggestions you've come up with. I have invested £2 of this budget in a lotto ticket for tonight and failing that, have just accepted it'll be more like end of September before I can start thinking about AW fashion. Sad

DinosaursRoar · 13/08/2016 15:20

Actually, I think I'll take my AW budget and start with boots this month then take it from there, as I have a lovely leather jacket for early autumn already. So, black ankle boots that aren't mum boots.

Black ankle boots that are currently on my 'To try on soon' list (they may or may not be mum boots - I don't give a flip):

Clarks pair one

Clarks pair two

Also pair one

KG but don't like the gold much

Office

Found a gorgeous dusty pink Brora cashmere jumper in a charity shop today. Was just about to snap it up when I realised it had a big hole in the sleeve. :(

I'm having the same problem as last year (despite all the excellent advice I was given here then) - I also want some ankle boots, but am finding it tricky to judge which ones will go best with the types of dresses I tend to wear regularly (generally knee-length, A-line style skirt cuts)! I particularly like the Clarks Breccan Myth ones, but wonder whether something with a slightly less chunky heel in all-black would be better. Decisions, decisions!

A photo?

Shock

Let me see what I can do.

Remus we seem to be after the same mum boot.

Your Clarks Two I am trying on tomorrow along with my Clarks One and hoping to buy both.

Already have these so I'm basically after the same boot in different heel heights Confused

Really like your Aldo ones but think they would cause me a sock headache with the gap detail. I speak from bitter experience.

The office ones I am tempted by too but they look a little more harder of leather and more turned up of toe (technical terms Grin) than Clarks Two.

Also just got these Docs thanks to Jelly which have divided others over on another thread due to their orangey colour but they're keepers for me.

Wine -
I v nearly bought your Clarks one earlier this year, but the 4s were a bit too big for me, and the 3 and a half a bit too small.

I love the shape of those Docs, but would need to see irl re orange-ness or otherwise!

The heeled ones you already have are lovely too. I have these beauties for my not walking v far nights out!

Remus those Whistles boots are stunning!! The cut, colour and heel height are perfect for me. How did I miss them? I tend to buy all my wardrobe boots out of season to get sale reductions on things I really, really like but probably don't need. Although those, I do.

The Docs are lovely and at £53 with the EXTRA code including delivery, a bargain. They aren't scream-in-your-face-orange in any way. Worth ordering as I'm slowly realising from the other thread it's a subjective shade of tan!!

Damnit. Shouldn't have clicked on the Whistles link because www.whistles.com/women/clothing/leather/lexi-leather-biker-23101.html?dwvar_lexi-leather-biker-23101_color=Black It's too expensive. I think 😫

Whistles bikers are indeed lovely - but I am convinced that my Oasis ones are just as lovely! The Whistles hardwear is a bit lacking in subtlety, methinks.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/08/2016 19:11

Although that one is nicer than the one I tried on, to be fair.

I am back to work after mat leave and have come around to trousers after at least 10 years of avoiding them and living in dresses.

Got the following:

Ankle length kick flare j crew teddie trousers www.jcrew.com/uk/p/E8366

Banana republic straight leg trouser in grey (LOVE THESE, lovely relaxed shape but not baggy) bananarepublic.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=65552&vid=1&pid=000257643SB13-15017

Also these skinny trews which will be great in the winter with boots. bananarepublic.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=57998&vid=1&pid=000375383SB15-18420

Got a couple of great tops in cos, a waffle weave top in a scuba type fabric, long sleeved but loose. Fab

Then a cotton bib front blouse with short sleeves and the non-bin bit in a lovely stretch jersey cotton fabric. So forgiving.

Also ordered 3 tipi merino wool jumpers from j crew in the sale (£39 each in black, grey and a copper colour). I love these jumpers. And a excellent price for them.

I need an Autumn coat though. I bought the whistles parka last autumn and wore it to death but it's a L and now drowns me (I used it with a sling and zipped the baby up inside! Was fab!) will eBay but need something more work appropriate but still a bit relaxed. I think I need to try lots of stuff on.

Remus An Oasis one wpild be far more sensible too. If I get that Whistles biker I'd have to cut my wants list right down. I need to get some to try on,
