Autumn/Winter - what will you be wearing?

So now that it's officially autumn (kinda) and the weather has been crap here today what do you think you'll be wearing this autumn and winter?

Inspire me before I spend yet another winter wearing skinny jeans, ankle boots and slouchy knits

Are boyfriend jeans doable in winter? (I normally wear mine rolled up and I'm not a fan of cold ankles!)

Just been having a look on Office website and they fly boots in the sale - quite the mol's in the Olive.
Are Fly old hat? Thoughts?

Floisme · 14/08/2016 10:31

Thanks all. I really love the simple cut.

The hat is Mr Flo's.

Tanaqui · 14/08/2016 10:51

Love the jacket Flo.

I like Fly boots Nearly, because I have wide feet and they fit, but no doubt they are mum boots (but I am a 45 year old mum!).

Thanks for the Boden link Cait- don't know how I missed them as I like Boden and have account credit! They might be too high on the crew neck though (have a short neck and high boobs so crew necks can be tricky).

Love the coat Flo I really want one. I have a biker but I rarely wear it. The zips annoy me and it has beautiful leather but stains so easily despite ton of scotch guard, it's just not a joy to wear.

Floisme · 14/08/2016 11:11

I like bikers too Stately and I was very tempted to splurge on a Whistles one but I decided I wanted something plain and no fuss.

I started looking in vintage because I just couldn't see what I wanted on the high street. The closest was this link that niminy found which was nearly right but would have been a bit too long on me (I'm 5'3) plus I wanted collar and rever.

I was after a new biker jacket, got the blue M&S one which was awful so I sent it back. Was dropping off some bits at my local charity shop and only bloody found my dream black super buttery soft leather jacket for £12!!!!!! its amazing. Why would anyone give away such an amazing classic item. I am so happy.

EnidButton · 14/08/2016 21:30

Shock Nick I wish the charity shops around here had good stuff in them. The book one has great books but the clothes ones aren't great.

DinosaursRoar · 14/08/2016 22:01

I need my DCs to go back to school so I can trawl the charity shops near me in peace! Last time I made it to our Cancer Research one, someone who was my size had dumped tonnes of stuff from Boden and Joules in there, picked up 2 summer dresses for under a fiver each, then by the time I thought I should go back and get more, others had got there and cleared them out.

I think I want some highwaisted trousers that aren't skinny. Perhaps more of a 30s or 40s shape. Might need to look at vintage themed sites.

nickdrakeslovechild · 14/08/2016 22:07

Ours are hit and miss, but 2 weeks ago in the same one i bought a vintage levis denim jacket for £10. When DD starts school I am going there every friday Grin

i8sum314 · 14/08/2016 23:15

What I want to wear this autumn winter is a single breasted 70s big lapel wool navy coat.

it's in my head. i see it in my head.

Kikibanana86 · 16/08/2016 11:09

I want a new leather jacket l, probably black, there's one on the river island website that looks a nice shape so might go in and have a try on. I also really want a coat with. Furry collar, I tried on a leather biker jacket last year in new look and it had a lovely furry collar which looked nice next to my face, but the leather was fake and really obviously so so have been on the lookout for a better quality one, if anyone sees one let me know!

cathyandclare · 16/08/2016 13:30

Love the coat Flo I had one just like that in 2001 and I still mourn it and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Mine was M&S, that's what they should be re-releasing in their heritage collections

Floisme · 16/08/2016 18:49

Thanks cathy, I'm sure they'll be around again soon.
Especially now I've got one Grin

EnidButton · 16/08/2016 22:58

Saw some wine coloured jeans today, don't remember where (Hobbs email possibly?) but thought I might find some somewhere else and try them but then remembered I used to wear them in the 90's and it put me off a bit.

What do you think? Burgundy/maroon/wine jeans?

burnishedsilver · 16/08/2016 23:57

I bought a pair of dark wine coloured skinny jeans 2 winters ago. I though I'd get loads of wear out of them but in the end I rarely wore them. They were surprisingly difficult difficult to style. Grey seemed to be the only colour that looked ok with them. I've just put them in a charity bag.

EnidButton · 17/08/2016 00:33

I do wear a fair bit of grey actually. Hmm, not sold on them though so maybe stick to replacing my blue ones and get some more black or grey ones.

ivyonmywalls · 17/08/2016 00:37

I can't wait to start wearing deeper colours, especially all the berries, I'm fed up with wearing thin t-shirts.
We might get our wish sooner than we think, with all the, rain that's,on its way.
