Hoping link to previous thread works!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/2320549-Ashamed-of-my-beauty-product-hoard?pg=1

Continuation of the thread where I realised I was not alone in my hoarding of all things make-up/beauty/skincare/toiletries.

Lots of lovely mumsnetters who encourage each other to use and enjoy all those lovely products, and at the same time try to reduce our spending on unnecessaries!

I just finished up this amazeballs aftersun which I think they have discontinued (so I panic bought 4 bottles off ebay awhile back)... I love this stuff - cooling, hydrating and soaks in real quick.

I am on a mission to use loads of stuff up this holiday - my suitcase was over weight on the way out... Am going to be very liberal with what I apply!!!

I'm nearing the end of my Bodyshop Vit E cream but I don't want to use the other random creams I have, they sting my eyes .
So, in the interest of non waterey eyes, I'll use the others from the neck down and buy some more Vit e.

Ememem84 · 27/07/2016 21:28

Im on holibobs in 2 weeks!! My plan is to load up my case with all my samples and travel sizes. And use them up.

kwick · 28/07/2016 14:14

Wowzers had to chuck a Ultrasun Face cream 30 spf as when I applied it bobbled up and I cannot trust it!

dogdaydisaster · 28/07/2016 15:52

kwik, it's by alpha h. I've never paid full price, always get it on offer. It just an acid that you put on a couple of time a week, definitely brightens up my skin.

allyjay · 28/07/2016 20:56

My skin and body care stash Blush. No perfume, hair stuff or make up in this little lot. Nor any of the products I'm currently using!

Meant to add I should probably join this thread.

Ememem84 · 28/07/2016 21:49

Haha ally maybe....

My stash now fits in a 10l plastic box. The ones I'm using are in a basket on my dressing table.

kwick · 29/07/2016 07:20

Thanks dogday!! Where do you buy it?

Wow ally! What a stash!!! Welcome to the thread Grin

Back from the holidays. I've used up one big and one small bottle of Nivea sunscreen and a tube of Biore facial sunscreen. And I finally finished an Elvive conditioner that has been going on for years.

We were in Italy and I broke my cosmetics shopping ban and bought a shower gel, two big bottles of Bioderma micellar water, a taupe single eye shadow for my brows from Other Stories (saw it a year ago, bought it now, pefect shade!), one tinted lip balm and five lipsticks from Kiko, and about a dozen €1 and €2 bottles of nail polish from Kiko and Stories. Lots of lovely and unusual shades, have really enjoyed wearing them. The lipsticks were a mixed success, one bright shade does not suit my coloring at all (it makes my teeth look yellow) and two are a bit bland/meh, but the tinted Kiss balm is terrific and a great shade for me and I have also really enjoyed a pale nude pink and a MLBB mauve. And as always, their quality is very good, they cost very little and their packaging is exquisite.

Anyway, I've now bought more stuff than I should have and will start a new shopping ban. Lots of full-size products almost gone, working on finishing two lipsticks.

dogdaydisaster · 29/07/2016 10:33

kwik, I buy it from QVC or cult beauty. Ususally when there's a sale on. There are a few threads on it if I remember, not everyone loves it but it suits my skin.

kwick · 29/07/2016 19:21

Way to go frustrated!!! I am not familiar with those brands - are they good?

kwick · 29/07/2016 19:59

Just finished a sample size Creme de la Mer moisturising cream. It is official: this stuff screws up my skin - I alwats get a breakout when I use. I am kinda relieved as cannot possibly afford to buy

FrustratedFrugal · 29/07/2016 20:14

Kiko is an Italian budget cosmetics brand - decent products for very little money. Other Stories belongs to the H&M conglomerate (like COS). I like their jewellery and their everyday cosmetics. Their bargain bins give me exactly the same buzz that I get browsing drugstores in the US. Wink

Have just finished a Mavala nail polish remover. I have two other half-empty bottles of remover so no need to purchase anything new.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/07/2016 22:33

I'm going away next week (UK, visit to family) so plan to take a random selection of To Be Used Up stuff. I'll have room in the carboot for a box full .

The change in water (very soft) will cause havoc with my hair and skin though.

FrustratedFrugal · 31/07/2016 11:50

Just cut a jar open. And discovered two lipsticks that are almost gone. And when I looked for the next conditioner in the under-sink cabinet, realized it is half empty and that I have just two half bottles of conditioner left.

kwick · 31/07/2016 20:35

Great progress frustrated Grin

I may have just bought a 70% organic lifting cream in Corfu

dogdaydisaster · 01/08/2016 10:15

Finished a day cream/moisturiser this morning: Elemis marine cream. eally like this, and use it most of the time. However I have a Lz Earle and a coupe of other light moisturisers to try next (before starting on one of the 2 marine creams in the cupboard Blush

kwick · 01/08/2016 12:38

A sad day has come when my all time favourite suntan lotion ends (although if I do rebuy I will go non-spray as this has fertility impacting cyclopentasiloxane Sad)

kwick · 01/08/2016 20:54

I have finished a 30ml Liz Earle cleanse and polish which I got free when I bought a full size of a limited edition lavender one... Hmmm not sure what all the hype is about - The Superdrug Vitamin E or Brightening ones are much nicer Hmm

kwick · 02/08/2016 14:58

I have just finished a Philip Kingsley Elasticizer - travel size - which I think came from a Glossybox. Would not buy... Infact I am in despair with my hair as I never seem to get silky soft locks - I have oily roots, dry ends Sad

I am sitting with a warming mask in ky back, the elastizer in my hair and a yoghurt smoothie mask on my face... Good look Grin

Hello all! Glad to see thread still running, missed you all as was having a proper digital detox....just back from a fortnight's holiday.

Some empties to report:

Took (and finished) a small (125ml) of Garnier Micellar Water, plus small pantene shampoo/conditioners....but have brought the bottles back to refill for future trips as they were the PERFECT size for the 2 weeks.

Thought I would get through a small L'occitane shower gel but even with not skimping I still have at least 3-4 showers left in it, and I wasn't leaving l'occy for the maids!

Since coming home have also finished a Balance Me shower gel that came free with a magazine: was fine, a zesty citrusy fragrance, but nothing I would pay much money for....fine for a freebie! And a small Chloe miniature bought in duty free coming home from last years holiday.....lovely, so might at some point buy the big bottle....but have soooo much perfume have to behave for a bit....

Dropped off the thread!

DH is very upset. He's just found out that his favourite shower gel has been discontinued. Thankfully there are half a dozen in his product stash so he'll be okay for a little while.

I have got one bottle of shampoo and conditioner left in my stash and then I will have to actually go and buy it!

haven't needed to since joining this thread way back at the beginning of thread 1
