Have name changed.

How old do I look? Please be honest. I know I have a fat face :( I am having hair cut on Saturday. Feel like I look frumpy. WDYT? What would you do? My hair is naturally straight.

OP - you've got a very pretty face. A softer hairstyle would suit you, and maybe some highlights.

GiantJellyBaby · 10/02/2015 19:44

OK... I've not read further than the first page. I still don't know how old you are. You have very lovely smooth skin - I am guessing 25-28. Though I am crap at this. You are probably 55 (sorry!)! Will go back and read now!

Instituteofstudies · 11/02/2015 07:28

I guessed early 30's. My hair was in a similar style to yours for years. My hairdresser wouldn't cut it shorter and I felt it was too heavy for my face. I changed hairdressers and she cut it into a long pixie and I have never felt as pretty or received as many compliments about my hair, ever. I'm lots older than you at 54. I wear glasses and have a little face and the combo of bob and specs really seemed not to be working for me. I think a change of hairstyle will really make a difference. You don't need work one bit.

DidThatSeriouslyJustHappen · 11/02/2015 11:47

Personally, I think if you have a round face, you should avoid a round cut and with the fringe and the length, it's looking a bit like that....

I would say either have it cut into your neck (not as painful as it sounds Grin ) so it looks lifted at the roots and have a softer finish to your fringe if possible. Or in a completely different direction, have some subtle hair extentions. I'm not thinking katie price style, don't worry, I'm talking about the less is more, classy look. Maybe look into having your hair a slightly lighter shade too.

Oh and I'd say you were about 36.

polyhymnia · 11/02/2015 12:02

Did you have your cut on Saturday OP and how did it go? Everyone who's commented on this thread and offered advice - a lot of people -would love to know if you feel like telling us.

TheCowThatLaughs · 11/02/2015 12:40

You look late 20s early 30s to me, and you're only going to look younger as you lose more weight. Better get some ID ready for pubs!

ScarlettDarling · 11/02/2015 12:48

You look miles younger in the second pic...I'd have guessed 42 from the first photo but late twenties in the second. Ask your hairdresser what would work with your hair type and face shape. I need a hair makeover too, should follow my own advice!!

oldladyhair · 11/02/2015 17:53

Sorry for late update.

Had hair chopped and side fringe put in, it is shorter but I will be growing it a bit now it is in the new style if that makes sense! More layers as well.

You look lovely- I love it!

Nextwednesday · 11/02/2015 18:08

Yes your fringe looks much nicer!

TheRealMaryMillington · 11/02/2015 18:17

Good call on the haircut - that works! I actually think it takes years off your look (even though your face always looked young)

FWIW I was going to say the glasses are nice, but not in combo with fringe - but as you've already sorted it no need

I'd ramp up the lippy a smidgen too.

Greengardenpixie · 11/02/2015 19:04

That is so much nicer :)
Do you like it?
It takes years off you [ you did have a young face anyway, it was just the fringe and glasses dragging you down!]
Its funny cause your glasses are much more up to date looking even although they havent changed!

321zerobaby · 11/02/2015 19:15

You remind me of Sarah Millican now, what a lovely haircut and a lovely smile Smile

Mulligrubs · 11/02/2015 19:30

Love the new hairdo OP! You look great, the new softer fringe really suits you Smile

polyhymnia · 11/02/2015 19:33

Much better - good call. Glasses look better now, though I'd still try some less rectangular and heavy ones as an alternative when budget allows.

Pengyquin · 11/02/2015 19:37

You're 30 and people think you look younger?

I need these people. I"m 40 and could have sworn you were in your 50's Blush sorry!!

However, back to the question, I actually think your hair is lovely. Clearly in beautiful condition, it's shiny and I think it suits your face shape.

Millionsmom · 11/02/2015 19:40

Love the new hair cut!! You look younger and you can see you do have a neck.
Well done for losing 3.5 stone too!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 11/02/2015 19:55

You remind me of Sarah Millican and I luvs her!

Wigeon · 11/02/2015 20:51

Lovely! Like the new fringe! You definitely don't look 40s btw.

ChippingInGluggingOn · 11/02/2015 20:57

Penygquin. Spec savers have a good deal on at the minute :)

Or as your Granny should have taught you. If you can't say something nice, STFU don't say anything.

What do you get out of being deliberately insulting? Does it make you feel big & clever? Because it's not big & it's not clever. Just nasty.

polyhymnia · 12/02/2015 00:01

Also like the simple V neck in the latest photo. Think the top/jumper in the first pic contributed a lot to the aging effect. I would avoid it and I'm way older than you - and may well be older than your DM. Maybe to be put away and only worn when your DM comes if you think it'll please her.

polyhymnia · 12/02/2015 00:04

And the fact we can now see your eyebrows framing your eyes helps too.

GooodMythicalMorning · 12/02/2015 00:05

Ah beautiful.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones1984 · 12/02/2015 00:16

Side fringe is much nicer. You look really lovely and smiley- full of laughter. V necks are much nicer on you. just bin that jumper in pic 1 - it's awful

You certainly don't look 50 Hmm I'd have guessed late 20's/30. You have lovely skin.

Ohmygrood · 12/02/2015 00:26

I think you look to be in your 20's.
The side fringe really suits you. Smile
Have you thought about highlights to break up your hair a bit?
I have fine hair too so know the pitfalls.
