Well done, Herbs, that's fantastic news - I think the TofT can have a night off - break out the champagne.

My thoughts are with all of the DC who are doing exams or SATS: I still remember with horror DS's A Level results, it will stay with me for ever. But we worked through it, DS went to uni and is now very successful. Not saying this is going to happen to any of your DC, but it isn't the end of the world, it only feels like it!

Another one here who thinks the emoticon should come after the full stop.

When you say "mature"...how mature

Well Bindi... frankly forty to fabulously fifty ish... that sort of old "mature". We're not the other sort of mature, well not all the time anyway.

Can we tempt you to linger a little or are you less "mature"?

I'm, ridiculously, on a fast day, but may treat myself to a glass of wine after choir. Get me, living the high life.

I know it sounds like false modesty, but I really really thought I'd done so badly. I felt embarrassed when I came out, that I'd wasted their time and let myself down so badly.

I'm now coming over a bit Groucho Marx - can it really be that great!

How long is the course, Herbs? And when does your new life start? So exciting.

The full time course is a year, the part time two years. Full time would mean getting it over with, meaning new life can start, but part time would enable a bit of money to be earned and not be so full on.

Herbs, my feeling is do it full-time. Part-time will expand to be full-time anyway.

Agree with MI part-time has a habit of expanding. Go for full on - that year will go really fast.

It is a bit, thank you. Saw lovely helpful new doctor today who has given me a prescription for new painkillers. Came home at four and have only answered a handful of e-mails. Had to get DH to help me put my tights on this morning and couldn't bend down to plug in the curling tongs when he had gone .

My only thoughts re part time are a) I can 'keep my hand in' with writing, and thus keep it going as part of my 'portfolio career' once I become a teacher, and b) the money I could earn would stop DP being quite so pursed-lipped about the whole thing.

But I suspect you're all right - get it over with, and new career by 50!
