Oh God Herbs, just seen your post. Does he need a trip to A&E just to be sure?

MI, exactly as I predicted!

We are at BFFs. Had successful bra-fitting trip for DD - 30E (God knows who she inherited her bangers from!) followed by much wine and food and a very drunken (adults - teens were sober I think!) game of who's in the bag.

I'm feeling Ok (though I haven't lifted my head off the pillow yet), DH may not be do lucky!

My turn for crepey head clutching. We went for lunch at boozy friends' house, and god knows how much wine we got through. Enough to make it seem like a good idea to smoke some Cuban cigars on their balcony. Don't remember getting home, then fell asleep on the couch and woke up at midnight with banging headache.

We went up to bed, and while DP was in the bathroom there was an almighty crash and the sound of groaning. I rushed in, to find him on the floor, out cold, with his eyes open and making a horrible noise. I grabbed the phone to call an ambulance, but then he came round and seemed fine. If pissed. I then lay awake all night worried that he'd got concussion, or something. He seems alright this morning, apart from a very painful back where he fell on the bath on his way down. Only 12 hours to go until I can go to bed.

Small world indeed! Folks are on Sudbury Heights Ave - not far from Ridding Lane - wembley high road is the pits now....

BD we were on Sudbury Court Drive. My Dad's GP practice was on Whitton Ave East. I used to get the 182 from the bottom of our road, (outside The John Lyon which is now a curry house (!)) usually to Brent Cross! (And the 92 to Wembley Central…remember that one?) Have had quite a few nostalgic visits to the area recently as DS has a good friend who lives off Whitton Avenue (Ridding Lane, I think.).
Small world.

Yes Rosebag - Sudbury - off the Whitton Ave (although I went to School in Queens Park - 182 bus ride.....)

Well, we had a grand time "up town" today. Took the cable car across the river, went up to the Olympic Park for a picnic (only two years late). Then jumped on a bus down to the City and went to the Tower Bridge Experience (requested by the DDs; it was a bit average, to be honest). Over to Soho for a wander around, and a meal, then home. Lovely day.

You do realise it's colder up there in winter than just South of the river don't you. DS once got mugged in Kilburn after we told him not to go to a party there.

North London's a bit of a mystery to me.

It was indeed BD…she was moved there in the 70's when her flats in Clapton were condemned. We lived in the Harrow area and it was so that she was nearer to us. When I started driving, I used to collect and drop her off…once I'd seen her into her flat I'd run like the clappers back to my car for fear of being knifed!

OMG Chalk Hill Estate! When my dad came out of the army my parents were offered a council flat there - my mum refused (mum is from Kilburn, dad from Hanwell)
It was dire in the 70s....

I don't really know the Wembley/Neasden area at all. Shame she had to move away from where she was happy :(

MrsS I lived in Putney for more than 30 years until just before last Christmas. I luffs it despite it's awful high street. The restaurants and bars have got better, really they have. I struggle out here in zone 3 which has got extraordinarily leafy since Easter - a great bit green fug of rustling.

All my shoes seems to wear out at the same time - hence this weekend's sandal buying. Are these better - I tried on 23 pairs yesterday before I found one that wasn't too frumpy and didn't rub - I was desperate.

OPM Nana ended up on The Chalkhill Estate in Wembley/Neasden…anyone know it? She was SO much happier in Clapton, even with a bath in the kitchen and wall running with damp...

Queen Happy Valley is gruesome…pure evil, but riveting. Excellent acting IMHO…really.
DM has decided that Pa needs a glass of Prosecco daily…it actually improves his mind…he engages much better. My view is that if you can't become an alcoholic when you're 87, when can you?
That VW dress is truly beautiful…but worry about knockers and high neckline, though.
I'm very fat today…another birthday tea, for DD this time…she says she's had a lovely birthday and is enjoying her post cream cake haze and anticipation of being in the same football stadium as her idols. And she did cry when she saw her tix for 1D…she also cried when I posted on my status on fb that on this day 14 years ago we were blessed with the arrival of a brave and tenacious little girl, which she indeed was, and is still. She's had a lot of challenges. Feeling the lurve today. Probably be my usual, shouty, crabby self tomorrow Grin

I have some incredibly fugly sandals - they are Merrell slip-on ones. I've had lots of nasty incidents with DS3 on rocks so I needed some that are quick to put on - so no buckles - but ok for rock-climbing in.

I like a pair of fugly sandals for the summer!

Crem, glad something is in motion to help you even if you are still suffering as we speak. Hope Tuesday doesn't feel too far away.

Yes to prosecco! Am lolling about with a glass in my hand right now - while dh makes supper (roast chicken) in the kitchen next door and keeps asking me questions - still a lot better than actually cooking it! He thinks having to cook merits opening a bottle of fizz - perhaps I should adopt his approach Monday to Friday?

Nice dress! VW is such a good choice - lovely but never in / out of fashion iyswim.

Am planning to watch episodes of Happy Valley on iplayer later... can anyone recommend / warn me off it?
