You obviously didn't do it right Dry Grin. Time for round two!
Novice glad to hear you're having a lovely Easter, hope DH is fully recovered.
Still got this tummy bug so unable to reschedule Easter lunch today. I have a 40th birthday meal to go to tonight which I can't miss so will have to take Imodium, and drink tonic water while telling everyone I'm on G&T's. Hmm All the maxi dress chat is making me think I should wear my Me&em one tonight.....
Loving all the Chelsea Girl chat, I was scared of the staff in our local store, I never felt cool enough!

BrandyAlexander · 21/04/2014 12:52

Oh Shop you poor poor thingThanks dh is all relaxed which is lovely, pity it's back to work tomorrow.

I am still in my pj's, bliss! My lovely housekeeper dropped in this morning to do some ironing and tidy up downstairs. Totally unexpected but I could have hugged her as we could barely get into the laundry room with post holiday clothes in there.

DrySad, you always have next year. The teenage nieces our joined in the hunt as their eggs were hidden in the same place and they said it was so much fun.

We may have to shift our lazy selfs out to town to get a toddler duvet for ds. Just about to check whether M&S do them. I have been helping dd do a diary of her Easter holidays, printing out photos from my iPhone from our hols. A techie challenge for me!Blush

QueenCadbury · 21/04/2014 14:56

Lazy afternoon here. Went shopping this morning as ds had Easter money burning a hole in his pocket Grin. Bought these shoes to go with the monsoon navy dress. I was going to get something more strappy but tried these on and my feet fell in love. I can definitely dance the night away in these. I may take the dress back though....I absolutely love it but at the moment there are only 2 occasions I have to wear it which makes it £50 per wear. I'm wondering whether I'm better off sticking to cropped trousers and blouses. Thoughts...?

MarshaBrady · 21/04/2014 20:39

QueenC keep the dress!

MarshaBrady · 21/04/2014 20:40

If it wasn't so perfect for you I'd say return it, but I think you should keep it. Even for going out to dinner with your dh etc

libertychick · 21/04/2014 20:53

Another vote here for keeping the dress QueenC. You will get the wear out of it over time. As Marsha says wear on a night out with DH - it doesn't have to be occasion wear only.

No news from me, quiet weekend. This scarf arrived and is going back background colour is almost beige rather than white.

Shop and Linus hope you are both feeling better.

How do you do it Novice I had one child only to entertain and I didn't organise an Easter Egg hunt.

justasecond · 21/04/2014 21:25

Think I missed your Monsoon dress Queen can you link again?
I made a quick trip to shops today to get dds swimming costumes, goggles and hats. I also bought
this and an oversized long trench in a sort of flowy fabric that has disappeared off the website. I also ordered this one to compare the two helmut lang trench
Anyone watching Jamaica Inn? I did it at school but have completely forgotten the story.
DD are back to school tomorow, thank goodness! Not sure how they will get up on time though..

Drywhiteplease · 21/04/2014 21:58

I missed the dress too Queenc too busy eating ice cream in Italy .
Lovely lazy day....DH went to the garden centre in the most hideous crime to fashion ever, his "gardening clothes", a pair of the baggy old Next ljeans circa 1998 and a grey t shirt tucked IN Shock my GOD! But he did me some lovely pots bit early, prays for no frost
Our Framily friends who are like family now kept popping in and we cooked impromptu dinner. Lovely. I like spontaneous days.
I wore my new silver flt, pointy sling backs with Gap dark rince legging jean that fit me , blue grey boxy sweater over long line vest top.....felt good ESP compared to DH Grin

Good god......"flat sling backs", "dark rinse"....

Topazandpearl · 21/04/2014 22:00

I have those shoes QueenC, they are very comfortable but turn my feet blue!
I like that shirt justa, looks very useful. I read Jamaica Inn years ago and have also forgotten the story. Not watching it (Game of thrones on here -DP and DS need their fix) but might catch up if the reviews are good.
Shame the scarf didn't work liberty. I find AR's photos often make creams look white. My lace top is creamier than I expected (I still like it so am keeping it tho).
Back to work tomorrow - will be a manic couple of weeks so have to gear up for it. Must check the weather forecast and decide what to wear. I always find it hard to get back into work clothes after time off. I find it particularly hard at this time of year. I don't feel opaques are right but it is too soon to go bare legged. It will probably be cropped trousers. Thinking about it, I probably wear trousers more in summer than winter.
Good luck to all those with early starts tomorrow and enjoy the holidays to everyone else.

Topazandpearl · 21/04/2014 22:01

Sounds like a good day and good clothes Dry!

QueenCadbury · 21/04/2014 22:19

monsoon dress. I won't have a chance to return it until the weekend so will think a bit more about it...

OneLittleLady · 21/04/2014 22:22

Thanks for Shop hope you feel better soon

I'm very jealous of your ice cream eating escapades Dry Grin

Lovely dress QueenC I agree with others that you should keep it, it's very 'you'

No fashion news to report her, today's outfit was centred around a mint green My Little Pony t-shirt, stylish is not something I'm often called, though quirky is used often Grin

Drywhiteplease · 21/04/2014 22:33

Oh QueenC it's very you???why are you thinking of returning it?

OP posts:
justasecond · 21/04/2014 22:40

Ooh yes you should keep the dress Queen It is really lovely and quite classic looking, you could also acessorize it in so many different ways.
Dry where did you get your silver flats from? I was considering getting the Next ones as don't want to stretch to Boden ones even through they are leather but not sure how comfy Next ones are.
Topaz trousers sound like a good plan, too cold for bare legs!

shopafrolic · 21/04/2014 22:52

Two Immodium, lots of sparkling water and I have made it through. Wore my Whistles Bella dress and LKB nude Floretes. Felt good, v fun night despite illness.

shopafrolic · 21/04/2014 23:29

Keep the dress QueenC it will look fab on you

Drywhiteplease · 22/04/2014 07:50

Well done Shop
Justa I bought the Next ones....squished my toes but now have loosened nicely. V happy with them. Didn't want to spend a lot on a fashion shoe .

Fedupnagging · 22/04/2014 08:01

Queen, your dress is lovely and if it suits you, you should keep it.

Those next slingbacks are identical to the boden ones - but do they make your feet squeak? My feet squeak in the boden ones. Dh wouldn't let me wear them to the theatre last week just in case I annoyed everyone with my squeaky feet Hmm. Am hoping once they are worn in, this will wear off!

Have some eBay items finishing soon so wondering what to put the money towards atm.

shopafrolic · 22/04/2014 08:51

LOL at squeaky feet! Morning all. Hope work isn't too tough for those heading back today.

shopafrolic · 22/04/2014 09:08

A bit random but if any of us have music industry contacts then have a read of this thread.......
Noel Gallagher Bucket List request
I thank you

Stokey · 22/04/2014 10:14

We used to have Jamaica Inn as a tape read to us when we were going to sleep at boarding school. I remember it being very scary aged around 11!
Will have to watch it - we finished Breaking Bad last night and feel slightly bereft.

And definitely keep the dress QueenC , you could wear it anywhere.

Don't really have music contacts Shop, hope they find someone Sad

Going to visit J Crew at lunch, they seem to have a bit of a sale going on and think I need to try on before I decide what to get.

QueenCadbury · 22/04/2014 10:22

Morning all. Inset day here so have sat dc in front of telly to chill whilst I do mumsnet stuff housework.

Unanimous vote for keeping the dressGrin. Still not convinced though. I think I'm better off spending the £100 on the sandals and/or a couple of nice tops instead. Yes, it's a gorgeous dress, yes, it looks fabulous on but it niggles me that it will sit unworn in the wardrobe. I just don't go to places that require dresses. Even if dh and I go out it's for a curry or informal meal so I don't need to dress up.

one you are stylish in that you have a very definite signature style. And quirky is good.

shop glad you had a good night

QueenCadbury · 22/04/2014 10:24

Isn't this taking ripped jeans a little bit far Confused

OneLittleLady · 22/04/2014 10:32

Thanks QueenC I suppose I do have my own 'look'!

I agree about the ripped jeans, too far, she might as well be wearing shorts
