That's awesome Secret. I did 5 miles this morning with a hangover, but was quite quick. Helps if you leave your car 5 miles away and need to collect it before the parking restrictions kick in! Have also started running the 10k home from work to my parents once a week (they collect my kids from nursery) which is quite a nice easy win as it's time I'd spend commuting anyway.

shopafrolic · 19/04/2014 19:57

Welcome back lovely Dry - was it as fabulous as it looked?

shopafrolic · 19/04/2014 20:08

And Marsha I missed the first episodes of MiC!!!! How did that happen?

LinusDKD · 19/04/2014 20:23

Evening!

We arrived safe and sound. DC were very good on the flight and are now out for the count. They are sleeping in the same room (with a connecting door to ours) so we'll see how that works out.

I, on the other hand, still have a temperature, am partially deaf in both ears (omg the pain upon landing!) and my periods are going to start. Sad

shopafrolic · 19/04/2014 20:43

Oh Linus I hope you feel better soon and are able to enjoy the holiday. Sounds as though you might need some antibiotics if you've got earache?

shopafrolic · 19/04/2014 20:57

PM Dry

Drywhiteplease · 19/04/2014 21:01

Shop it was great, beautiful, breath taking....I wore everything I took (apart from two shell tops). I'm dreading getting on the scales but the ice cream was worth it! Fantastic handbag spotting. Italians are so chic.
No fashion news what so ever.
Hope everyone is ok.
Smile

Wow, that's good packing Dry

LinusDKD · 19/04/2014 21:12

shop my ears don't hurt anymore but now they seem to be stuffed with cotton wool.

Apparently according to Dr. Google Sudafed helps. But wouldn't jya know, that is the only medication I didn't pack. Hmm

In fashion related news, I have decided to banish the dress I wore to dinner tonight to my 'only to be worn in the comfort of my own home' pile as it is making me frumpy. It is a jersey Velvet by Graham and Spencer dress that I bought many years ago in London and which always suited me (especially on 'fat days').

But now it just feels wrong. I blame MNV! Wink

Right, off to bed with a nice dose of paracetamol. (Can't have my trusty Lemsip as there is no kettle in the room. Yes, I am turning into a British spinster. And some biscuits would have been nice as well. Grin )

santamarianovella · 19/04/2014 22:20

Bentornata dry, we missed you bella,MWAH.

Oh no, linus, hope you feel better in no time, good thing the dc were ok during flight though,

santamarianovella · 19/04/2014 22:53

Does anyone else think, coachella festival goers are too put togather?
Lots of chanel, marant ,Valentino, that cape is worth £10k ,I wouldn't be too happy if I got it ruined, its exquisite,

OneLittleLady · 19/04/2014 23:06

Seriously?! You can't go to a festival dressed like that!

MarshaBrady · 20/04/2014 08:31

Shop quick, you're missing out Grin

Dry welcome back.

Linus hope you're feeling better.

This is the first time I've heard of Coachella, and every sleb seems to be there.

MarshaBrady · 20/04/2014 08:34

Stokey yes to nude. Where were you to get Country Road, in the UK? I didn't know it travelled that far.

I didn't get the acid wash or is it stone wash, as can remember them first time around, albeit 15 but it's probably a good rule.

Drywhiteplease · 20/04/2014 08:39

I guess if you have the money or free stuff it doesn't matter. I think its bonkers although they all look great. Doubt it's a muddy Glasdo. Love the lace off the shoulder.
Damn Me + Em sending me a brochure of new arrivals and tempting me. I've been looking for the perfect black maxi dress for ages fussy, won't bore you with my criteria and they have 2 but are they really long? Maxis always drown me

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 20/04/2014 08:44

They do look great. Not sure on Me&Em. Are you happy to have them altered if really long Dry?

Stokey · 20/04/2014 09:11

Coachella fashion is crazy - guess they know it's not going to be a mudfest.
Linus hope you feel better, miserable being ill on hols. I swear by Nurofen cold & flu - think ibuprofen is better for ear aches as it helps the swelling?
Marsha think it was Country Road style rather than actual Country Road, in fact pretty sure it was Laura Ashley rubbing up against my far less posh Chelsea Girl (remember that shop anyone?) buys.

I ended up getting snakeskin mid heels from Dune, just preferred them to the nudes and a good height for a day out with two dds!

Also bought a Zara cream blazer which looked better over the dress that the shorter ones. So think I am done, phew. Good thing is, I can wear the blazer and shoes with almost any dress so can always rethink on the day.

Right - need to get out of bed and get cooking Sunday lunch and hiding Easter eggs, hope the rain holds off. Enjoy chocolate everyone.

QueenCadbury · 20/04/2014 09:17

Happy Easter Easter Smile

Coachella just seems to have become a fashion fest as every year there's pictures of the clothes in magazines (grazia is always pretty obsessed with it) yet I couldn't tell you who plays there.

Welcome back dry. I just saw easter20 on another thread as 20% off me& em but not sure what dates it was for.

amber I remember those days in London of leaving the car somewhere and having to run to pick it up in the morning before 8.30 ( that was pre dc when I actually could run without my back hurting or wetting myself Grin).

QueenCadbury · 20/04/2014 09:18

linus hope you feel better soon.

AmberNectarine · 20/04/2014 10:06

It's good motivation if nothing else QueenC

Finally got round to booking a holiday at the end of May so after today I am going to being drinking 9 litres of water a day and eating only celery. Well, that or I might just drink a bit less wine and add in an extra gym session.

Obviously now need to buy lots of summer clothes. I actually hate summer clothes shopping as they all seem quite girly which is not really my MO. That or shorts

Drywhiteplease · 20/04/2014 10:47

When I leave car I get DH to drive me to it the next day lazy
Amber I'm with you on the water and celery, have 6 days to get rid of ice cream damage and get into unforgiving but damn sexy red dress on Saturday. Also agree with you about summer clothes eek
Marsha I know an excellent alterations lady! I'd be happy to shorten if the quality and fit were as fantastic as you have all said.

STJ great article on daughters obsessing about their looks weren't we talking about that a few weeks ago Sleep? Hmm
I'd like to read about the "Women and their hair". There's something psychological there. How can our hair effect us so much? From the frivolous 'bad hair day' to the deeper reasons why women change their hair when big things happen in their lives and then the psychological effects of hair loss. Would be fascinating looks at mop, switches on straighteners

Fedupnagging · 20/04/2014 10:56

Morning, Happy Easter everyone. Hope I'm not the only one who had chocolate for breakfast?!

Not a great start to your hols Linus so hope you feel better soon. Have had the same as you for the last few days but starting to feel better today.

Glad you had a great time Dry.

Am still coming to the MU and am easy about where we go although like others need food ( can't take my half pints too well any more) and a loo. Will come into Kings X or Finsbury Park.

Chelsea Girl, that's a blast from the past Stokey. I loved it when I was a teenager.

Thanks for the votes of confidence re the maxi skirt. I am still not sure though so need to try on again. If I do keep it, it will need taking up.

Can't afford the trio, but look what I have come across. Not a bad substitute so think will order. Love the blue colour way.

Need to head to the kitchen as cooking for 10 today.

MarshaBrady · 20/04/2014 11:59

That is a good substitute Fedup. I didn't, but my dc surely did! re chocolate. But once a year hey.

Stokey we didn't have Chelsea Girl but had Sportsgirl. Which I remember we were all so excited about as it was new mid-teens. I'm sure it was pretty bad clothing. But first fast fashion we had in our hick town Grin

Dry I was just thinking we need a test, if they do HAIR in the next couple of weeks. We'll know.

MarshaBrady · 20/04/2014 12:00

Snort at QueenC yep I get that.
