Oh - a request for help. I'd like a flow-y, pretty white blouse - something like this would be ideal but it has to be cotton or silk/cotton mix and ideally under £50. Has to be soft rather than 'crisp' cotton and not too see through fussy, moi?? Please let me know if you see anything suitable Smile

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 07:40

Morning all. I haven't posted n here for a few days as feeling totally uninspired style wise. I've been lurking though and some great links though. Good shopping ladies.

Yesterday little dd was in nursery and the big 2 wanted to go to carluccios for lunch spoilt middle class children so I jumped at the chance to take them into town and nip into monsoon. As suspected the navy lace dress was gorgeous and was love at first try on (monsoon dresses seem to fit my weird waistline) so I bought it, along with this top which is perfect as a going out top with black/navy cropped trousers. Dd insisted on trying pretty dresses on too so I bought her this. I made dd phone dh to tell him we'd been shopping Grin. Luckily he said it's fine as long as I don't make a habit of it. Phew Grin. I will be wearing the dress to both parties in June to maximise cpw but that's fine because I love it. I might need new sandals though as I think it needs a bit of a heel and the heeled silver sandals I have are a but dated.

Also dragged them into zara but couldn't find the star print that I'm lusting after.

Has anyone ever shopped at pull and bear? I've heard of them either in a magazine or on s&b but was pleasantly surprised to see one in bristol (a lot of stores like that often don't make it to the south west). I didn't feel that I could drag the dc in there too though.

Still waiting for my esprit order so will d links for that when it arrives.

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 07:53

liberty any good?

Fedupnagging · 16/04/2014 08:18

Morning,

As predicted, I have worn the blue Gap jacket everyday since purchase and had lots of nice comments too.

Topaz, love that denim dress from AR.
Amber love the scarf - I have had my eye on the parrot one for ages.
Liberty I ordered those boden trousers last week and sent them back too-not a great fit although I did like the colour.

I love the dresses and tops from Monsoon Queen, especially the navy lace dress. Think I need to pay Monsoon a visit.

One, glad the interview went well. Fingers crossed you get a place.

Turquoiseblue · 16/04/2014 08:32

You forgot to link Sven Amber Grin

Great links and shopping.

Was it grumpy or Mara that linked green jumpsuit up tread, I just keep thinking of it.

Haven't ever gotten anything in pull and bear Queen, did you spot anything nice? The monsoon dress is pretty.

When I was in Sydney - I spoke about 'rooting' (searching) - my Aussie pals cracked up. I haven't heard delft for years (hmm probably at a 'station' ......)
Beautiful bright sunny day here and I was in a rush so am very grey and uninspired - grey skinnies, leopard print ballet flats, grey silk Bella rose top, with yes you guessed it .. grey pea coat - oh but cobalt blue kooples scarf.

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 08:49

turq I didn't go in pull and bear unfortunstely. By that point the dc were desperate to get to the park.

Taking 5 kids out today. What to wear Hmm.

It's my hair that's the problem at the moment I've realised. If my hair looks crap, I feel crap. I don't think there's enough layering/thinning in it so it sort of just hangs there lankily. Might try a new hairdresser.

Fedupnagging · 16/04/2014 09:46

Depends where you are going Queen but jeans, jacket and flats are probably the way to go. Can you tie your hair up today? I hate bad hair days, you are so right saying you don't feel great if your hair isn't great.

Have had a plea from a friend - she needs help choosing clothes and wants me to go with her today. (Am no fashionista but still!) So, am ready and raring to go leaving ds2 in charge of the workmen and ds3 in charge of making sure the dog doesn't escape Blush.

Am hoping to find a little something for me too along the way although not sure what I need except a summer bag.

Am wearing maison scotch skinnies, French connection navy t, elephant scarf, gap biker jacket and gap suede flats from last summer. They are looking a bit worn but are so comfy and look great with the jeans.

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 10:05

Yep, fedup definitely jeans and flats. The Hmm face was more because I kind of think why bother dressing up for 5 kids. I'm going to be dragged on climbing frames, slides and the jumping pillow Grin. Have a good day shopping. There is sooo much I could buy at the moment. Hair is too short to put up. It definitely needs a good cut despite only being done about a month ago.

Topazandpearl · 16/04/2014 10:06

Love that Monsoon dress Queen. It is on my 'to be considered' list for the wedding I am going to. Have fun in the park!

Have fun shopping Fedup, I'm sure you will advise your friend well.

That jacket is a great bargain Liberty.

The DC have confirmed their comings and goings this summer (ages 21 and 18 so it takes a lot to pin them down so far in advance), and 5 July is free so I am coming to the mu! (Feeling slightly terrified and what will I wear!)

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 10:19

Yay! I'm so looking forward to catching up with everyone on 5 July Smile

Stokey · 16/04/2014 10:35

Great AR buys ladies, love the scarfs.
And the Monsoon dress is lovely QueenC. Monsoon are a big culprit for me in the too-big shoulders category but they do have some gems.

I think Pull & Bear is Spanish - I used to go there a bit when I lived in Madrid, maybe Umlauf can enlighten us? I think it was a bit like a Spanish Gap, but I tended to prefer Zara & Mango.

Think my skirt is a bit shorter & yellower Liberty like this.

Anyone else waiting for primary school admissions? Fingers crossed we've got into at least one of the top three.

BrandyAlexander · 16/04/2014 11:26

Afternoon all! It's 36 deg here and currently hiding under big umbrella. I am wearing a copy of the Ursula Andress Bond girl bikini. Dh looks suitably impressedWink

QueenC that monsoon link didn't work for me? I find monsoon so frustrating . Dsis gets amazing head turning outfits from there, and like a sucker I always go in there after I have seen her and then can never find anything.Hmm So am v keen to see what you have!

BrandyAlexander · 16/04/2014 11:46

I should add not feeling v fashion-y at all, as I have been obsessing with house decorations for weeks!

The decorators have been with us for 5 weeks and have done 5 rooms- both kids rooms plus our bedroom, dressing room and our bathroom. (They've done our master suite while we have been away so v excited to see it). Next week is the dining room and the week after is supposed to be our nanny's room. Now dh (much better nowHmm) is insisting we do the kids downstairs playroom before our nanny's room. Except....She's chosen her decor, we haven't chosen the decor for the playroom yet.Shock oh and he didn't like what I chose for the bathroom or living room. If he hadn't been so sick I would swing for himGrin

Anyway, i had a flash of inspiration last night on the playroom no thanks to him. Does anyone else have foam stickers on their walls?

Decameron · 16/04/2014 11:48

I love that dress and top, will be gorgeous on you, QueenC. I laughed at you getting your DD to call DH about the shopping. I am so bored of playgrounds. Won't miss that when they grow up! I am about to take them to Fulham Palace near where we used to live. I need a change from the local playground! And I like the café there.

I can't open your blouse link, Liberty but re trousers, have you tried Gap skinny khakis? I have navy (not online) and grey, I think you could get away with them for work if it is not too formal.

Sounds like your DH is on the mend, Novice!

This skirt just arrived, will try it on when DH goes out later.

Hope you get the school you want, Stokey and anyone else. It is so nerve wracking in London, the catchment areas are tiny here.

Have a nice day out with your friend, Fedup.

I'm leaving DH in charge tomorrow morning and going to the Italian fashion exhibition at the V&A and maybe a little bit of shopping. :)

LinusDKD · 16/04/2014 13:40

liberty I like this but maybe not flowy enough.

queenc that lace dress is lovely, a real classic.

novice 36 degrees!?

So I went into town today to try on the Burberry trench and it is gorgeous. Surprisingly the size 8 fit perfectly, very happy about that so it would have been rude not to buy it. Wink

Then I went to the Céline store to see whether they were going to get the cobalt hobo I have been lusting after, or whether I should just give up and start thinking about another bag.

Lo and behold, what did I see on one of the top shelves? A cobalt hobo!

According to the SA 'they received it yesterday and were going to call me today' Hmm

Anyway, it is perfect even though the colour is more indigo than cobalt but that is splitting hairs. So I bit the bullet and bought it. Finally!

And to finish off a successful expensive shopping trip I went into Cos and bought that yellow cotton blouse. Blush

Stokey · 16/04/2014 14:23

Woah Linus great purchases

The trench and Celine bag are classics, and yellow & cobalt will look great together Grin

MarshaBrady · 16/04/2014 14:31

Linus great news! How exciting. Bit Hmm at the sa they sound snooty. Still, you're the one with the Celine Grin

I need to catch up properly. All I can say is I am so grateful for this weather. £30 odd in extravagant picnics each day, the dc muck around and I can read my new book.

LinusDKD · 16/04/2014 14:50

Ha marsha the SA was squirming a bit when he recoginsed me and came up with that lame excuse.

If it wasn't such a difficult bag to get hold of I would have taken my custom elsewhere and done a Pretty Woman on him and gone back and rubbed his nose in it

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/04/2014 15:03

Linus amazing shopping! So lucky that you popped in and saw the bag, when were they going to ring you? Hmm Would love if you could put a pic of it on the thread.

Pull & Bear is owned by Zara/Inditex so yes Spanish. Never bought anything in there but it seems to be the cheaper version of MD/Zara.

Topshop cropped tee arrived ready for tomorrow, will try on later. Really looking forward to it - yep the weather is gorgeous atm Marsha, hope it lasts.

novice where you are sounds fab. How nice to get back to all those freshly decorated rooms! :)

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 15:34

Yay linus congratulations. You really must come over in July so we can see some of your fab things.

dec I am so bored of the park thing too. Yesterday I took them to one the other side of town as I needed a change. Went to a country park today and it was nice to have 2 extra kids as mine didn't get so bored. Have just bought them all back here. The boys are on the wii and the girls are painting nails-including dd who is 2. She's v proud of her pink nails Grin.

Esprit order arrived just as we were going out. I've just had a quick try on and love both tops. here and here. I know I've spent a huge amount in the last month but I'm totally happy with everything.

Glad you all like the monsoon dress. Some of the stuff in there hasn't changed in years but there are some gems.

Stokey · 16/04/2014 15:40

Love that grey Espirit top QueenC

Did anyone see this article in the Guardian about grey being the colour of the decade?

Excited the weather looks like lasting over Easter - wasn't it snowing last year?

Thanks for support Decam, unlikely to get our top choice as last year's catchment area was only 0.25 miles and we are 0.35 but hope we get second or third at least.

MarshaBrady · 16/04/2014 15:40

It's gorgeous QueenC and even better it's perfect for you. Mu outfit sorted? Grin

OneLittleLady · 16/04/2014 15:43

Fab shopping haul linus

I've not bought anything really recently. I just haven't felt inspired by anything. Think I might chance a rummage in the HoF outlet tomorrow though, see if there's anything worth buying. I missed the zatchels flash sale and was gutted, I really want a satchel (would be so handy for uni if i get in) but full price is a bit beyond me right now Sad

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 15:47

stokey I think grey has been my colour for about the past 2 decades Grin. I pretty much lived in a grey tee at uni.

marsha the mu is at least 2 months away. Plenty of time for further purchases Grin

stokey you may be lucky and get first choice. A lot depends upon how many siblings there are that year.

QueenCadbury · 16/04/2014 15:48

one I'm sure they'll be another zatchels sale before uni starts and loads of other places sell them too so might get a good discount on one elsewhere.
