Yes, the Cut would be better and might tie in nicely with the previous cocktail bar GrinGrinWine

Well, someone needs to make an executive decision as to which branch and attempt to persuade them to take our booking for 14 rowdy, opinionated old hags... First issue may resolve if not all branches can do that... Any takers?
I'm easy as to which branch... All very central.

Right, I will be social sec and attempt a booking at The Cut - fingers crossed! Shall I make it for 7.30 so that we can meet up with non-cocktailers relatively early?

Cremolafoam · 04/09/2013 14:50

Oh yes 7.30 save me from peaking too soon ( cocktail lightweight)Smile

OK it's booked for 7.30!

Are we meeting at Cubana for cocktails first or it there somewhere else peeps would prefer? I don't think we can reserve anything there for just drinking, but I can see?

I shall attempt to make it for cocktails this time, hurrah.

The office is aglow (admittedly it is the best time of day for it), I have done a second coat on the ceiling, DD2 did a patchy second coat on the chimney breast till the paint ran out (we are using a mix of two tester pots, get us) and I have switched the colour of the walls to a warmer coral, just in case you were wondering Grin

BTM - you star Wine.really looking forward to Turkish lavash and dippy dips.

Dds mole was not removed today either. The consultant had to do an emergency graft this am, so we're to come back in two weeks.WinkAngry

Oh BD and CremoSad How crap for them both. And you.

So cocktails place only reserves drinks areas for groups of 12+. How many are getting there for cocktails?Grin

So DS has gone off to his new footy training on his own for the first time - 2 trains awayShock Am a little nervous about the return journey as it will be dark by then and although he looks 14, he is only 12

DH is beside himself with excitement because, for the first time in 3+ years, DD is planning to cycle to school! She has teamed up with her mate to be gym buddies (round the corner from us) and so wants to get back from school quicker! It's only one day a weekSmile

Report
motherinferior · 04/09/2013 20:05

I love Cubana - will hope to make it for cocktails but realistically DP will charge through the door late again...

alto1 · 04/09/2013 20:21

Sorry to hear it BD.

DH was cancelled too, once because his aspirin hadn't been stopped soon enough, then (after he had been fasted, prepped, pre-medicated and hooked up to glucose and insulin for several hours) because of a leak in the theatre roof.

But the reason they have such brilliant results is that they know exactly what they have to get right.

DH coped brilliantly, just switched off and focused on his music. How is your Mum at compartmentalising?

Stropperella · 04/09/2013 20:21

Me, me, I will come for cocktails!
Assuming I survive a day of drug allergy testing at Southampton General tomorrow, that is. Truly a big, fat palaver, as I have to take someone with me, i.e. dh - who is not best pleased about it - and it will take 1.5 hrs to get there if the traffic is kind. Kind neighbour will take ds to school and dd will have to get back from school sharpish to look after him and feed him, as he has tae kwando tomorrow evening. At least the piano lessons don't start until next week (phew). I shall have to get up at 5.30am to walk the dog.

There were so many good thread names last time... I liked the Autumn Term at Crepey Towers, which I think was QQ's...

Report
bigTillyMint · 04/09/2013 20:46

So we are up to me, Cremo, MI, Addle, QQ, Stropps, Beachy, MI (just leave them to itWink)

Surely MrsS and ruby will want cocktails.... so that's 10 - it sounds like it could be a go-er! Is 6pm doable?

Report
Blackduck · 04/09/2013 20:47

Is cubana where we went last time? Believe I owe you a drink BTM!

Alto - I think the aspirin thing is the problem with mum so interesting to hear - they hadn't stopped hers. She'll be fine about it, it's my dad who will go slowly bats....
