  1. As above
  2. Sp*rs, obviously
  3. Taking him to the Legends game today (against Real Madrid)
  4. Interesting to see how the new manager will work. Not too promising so far, as he seems a bit too dogmatic. I think he should temper his desire for the team to play in a strict way to the abilities of the players he has, until such time as he can get other player in at least, as there are some very good player there. We've got to give him some time though, and hopefully we'll pick up some more points after a rather tough start to the season. It would be great to get back in the top 4, although I know there's tough competition this season. A good Europa League run would be fun, and Emery has got form for that!
LeatherTuscadero · 09/09/2018 07:33

How was the Legends game, CardinalSin?

  1. Arsenal
  2. Chelsea
  3. Forcing them to dress in Arsenal gear even though they say their friends make fun of them. I think this is part of the fun of being a football fan, but it may backfire on me massively.
  4. I want to know whether the new configuration of Women's Football will succeed? I wonder if it was a good move to change it from being a summer game to a winter game. Surely now it's up against a LOT more football with all the men's leagues, so it will find it more difficult to attract fans and their money? Why did it switch to winter?
CardinalSin · 10/09/2018 14:14

It was great fun. Towards the end, some of the Arsenal team were stretching their shirts a little! Nigel Winterburn played virtually the whole game, and he's a couple of years older than me!
Mad Jens was man of the match (we needed him to be), and then stole the show, and the last penalty from Rosicky, right at the end.

All good fun.

  1. Which team you support. - Man United
  2. Which team(s) you loathe. - Man City, naturally, Leeds, Chelsea.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team - no hope now.
  4. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/any leagues world wide/fallout from the World Cup.) - we need to stand by Mourinho, as bad as that sounds. Scotland should never have played Belgium. Rashford needs to have an arm round him. I still hate Gerrard and hope Rangers get stuffed every week.

Pan from another time here.

BelfastBloke · 14/09/2018 12:55

Nice to see ya. Whatever happened to Pan, Pan?

New joiner here.
Can't believe I haven't noticed you lot before!! Shock

1)Spurs supporter (Dh is)

  1. Thus, he hates Arsenal.

3)Both ds's have no choice other than to support spurs. Dh always joke they can go and live in the shed if they decide to support Arsenal.
Which they do, majorly, support Spurs and like all football generally. They both play football for our local team. Dh took ds1 to see Spurs v Arsenal which I was dead jealous about. And we went to Wembley as a family. And ds1 saw champions league -Real Madrid -that all his mates were impressed with.

Dh is pissed off that he's been lied to and the stadium isn't ready.

He was supposed to going/had tickets, to see Spurs, the first game, at the new stadium, so is fed up!

  1. Man City will win it again. Liverpool will do well.
BelfastBloke · 14/09/2018 15:03

Welcome Spurs fans even when they’re Spurs fans.

Wink
BelfastBloke · 15/09/2018 17:19

Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool
Bournemouth 4-2 Leicester
Chelsea 4-1 Cardiff City
Huddersfield 0-1 Crystal Palace
Manchester City 3-0 Fulham
Newcastle 1-2 Arsenal

Spurs lose and Arsenal win. Now if Watford would kindly beat Mourinho right now, this will have been a good day's footy.

eh Yvaine1?

OP posts:
Yvaine1 · 18/09/2018 09:08

BB! There was a bit of cross over twix here and work so it was best to adopt the name of the star from Stardust. Seems sensible!

Pogba just needs to get on with his footie. And Sanchez is realising what a step up it is from Arse to Man U. 😎

Yvaine1 · 20/09/2018 08:32

Versus Young Boys its as if I was a soothsayer! Pogba was master on the pitch and Sanchez is benched.

Arses- European football is where we go to the continent and play football and they come to us and also play football. The best at that are given a really big cup.

Just so's you know...

BelfastBloke · 21/09/2018 17:49

Arsenal stadium last night was mostly enjoyable, even though we can't keep clean sheets to save our lives.

Don't understand why the world hates sterling. Do they not see what he does off the ball?

I'm putting this out there that I was there on a rainy afternoon when we lost to Preston North End at Stockport county's ground - not a new fan. Loved the club since I was a kid. Love things a little more now!

Dickybow321 · 23/09/2018 01:28

I love Sterling and dont understand the hate either.

BelfastBloke · 23/09/2018 09:34

Sterling played ok yesterday

Quite a dull game for Arsenal today but came away with the points against Theo Walcott's Everton. We scored a great goal and an offside goal.

Dickybow321 · 24/09/2018 10:57

Yes, Lacazette's goal was awesome. Aubameyang's......Blush

BelfastBloke · 26/09/2018 14:39

Arsenal v Brentford tonight. Then Watford on Saturday.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 26/09/2018 22:08

Glad Derby won yesterday. So far going well for Lampard.

WhiteHartLane · 16/10/2018 09:42

Thank you for starting a new thread Belfast.

  1. Spurs. Go and cheer on my local team Gillingham when I can.
  2. Millwall / MK Dons
  3. Oldest isn't really into football but will say Spurs if asked. Youngest (only 5) recognises Harry Kane and the kit so thats a good start Grin.
  4. City for the title again although will be tighter this year. As for Spurs, the fiasco with the new stadium and not spending in the transfers has most likely defenately ruled them out of challenging for top spot. Am hopeful for top 4 and as ever a trophy.
