Ear wax lump from hell

I’ve had earache for a couple of weeks, well today I touched my ear and was like “what the hell is that”. A HUGE lump of wax was hanging halfway out of my ear.

Are you ready for this?? I still can’t believe it 🤣

It’s moulded to the shape of your ear!
That’s the most disgustingly impressive thing I’ve seen in a long time!
keep it in a little big glass tube and display it with pride.

Had you lost an AirPod, by any chance?

Haha! I’ve had mild earache for a couple of weeks since I went away and was swimming every day. I’ve been checking every day, even with ear buds out of desperation but nothing doing. Then today it just… appeared! Very very strange 🤣

Are you quite, quite sure that isn't actually a ferrous meteorite that has somehow fallen to earth inside your earhole? It looks rusty.

once, when I was 17/18, my ear was so dry and itchy for a few weeks, nothing was visibly wrong and nothing I did helped, so I just tried to leave it alone hoping it would stop/heal eventually.
I was laying in bed picking at the skin one night as the skin felt so unbelievably tight, when my whole ear shed layers of dry skin, that came off in one whole large piece exactly like a snake shedding its skin.
It that was identifiable, as like a complete cast of my entire ear, including an inch into my ear canal.
It was so weird because you could see every detail like folds, texture, hairs, imprints of blood vessels etc.
Hasn’t ever happened to me again since then, not sure what caused it as I don’t have dry skin in general at all or any eczema etc
I did try to google to see if it’s happened to anyone else but couldn’t find anything so I’ve kept quiet about it since 😂🫣
I was living at home at the time, so I did run downstairs in shock and show my mum the cast of my ear, she still brings it up every few years as it was so strange!

I did have a split second! And wanting to show everyone in my vicinity but I stopped myself. And then one of my next thoughts was “yes I have something epic for the sporners”! 🤣

I don’t understand how it fell out as it’s so big?

Wish I knew! It was a very strange sensation. It was sort of half out and needed some help along the way once I realised.

How did you pull it out?

Many years ago DH and I had a very hot week in Greece and did a lot of swimming. Back in the UK it was much colder and on the way home from the airport a huge lump of wax fell out of one of his ears - he could hear better than he had for years!

It’s a beauty for sure!! Reminds me, some years ago I was laying in bed and I felt a bug moving about inside my ear canal. I was freaking out but there was nothing to be found. About half an hour later a large wax lump fell out of my ear. Just like the ones here and the relief was huge. I guess it must have loosened up and just dropped out. So thankful it wasn’t a beetle! 🪲

Had you been using silicone ear plugs? My DP managed to slice one in half trying to get it out, suffered for just over a week and something similar fell out.

I used to get nuggets like that, but like a PP I now have a bulb thingy to syringe my ears out regularly, before they get to that point.
(And yes yes I know syringing is not recommended anymore but I'm not going to the GP every 2 months to get the other thing done).

I am SO JEALOUS that must have been so satisfying and such a relief!!!
