Draws all the gunk to the surface. I'd also do the hot compress and keep cleaning it with warm salt water (1 teaspoon of salt to a pint of water)

The whole thing is a head! Bit of heat and that will pop straight away.

I think filming the whole process would definitely help it to heal.
