What on Earth is this and what do I do with it?!

This is in a VERY delicate area and is absolute agony.

OP posts:
Queenie24 · 11/06/2022 18:44

Is there any updates

summer22now · 11/06/2022 18:48

definitely either go to a&e or GP - I get these. They can take months and months to heal in awkward areas, 8 months for one, into the 5th month so far with another.

If anyone gets lots of these and has any clues why, and what helped prevent them I'd love to know, I've noted the oregano capsules. Or if anyone has had a pattern of slow wound healing and found something that worked...

Goodness knows how many rounds of antibiotics and dressings and nurse and GP checks to get them to heal....

good luck @MrsDrake not surprised you didn't fancy having a go - do watch out you may very well need antibiotics the risk it turning into a generalised infection is a real thing.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 11/06/2022 18:50

I fear I may have the start of something similar in my nether regions.

there are some top tips on here to get me stated….

Jengnr · 11/06/2022 18:51

My husband has something like this on his head. I’ve just taken delivery of a set of sterilised scalpels and I’m having it!

MumE78 · 11/06/2022 18:51

I get these... poor you OP
I know it's going to hurt a lot but once it's popped it will feel better.

Mag sulphate, cover it over with a plaster

Hot bath & sterile pin just to see if it disperses - it pob might smell, but if it does ooze give it a gentle squeeze
If it doesn't I'd contact Dr and get the nurse to lance it

Inthesameboatatmo · 11/06/2022 18:52

That looks agony op. I had one years ago on one of my labia, god it fucking killed. But oh the pain and relief when i burst it in a really hot bath.

Iamacatslave · 11/06/2022 18:57

How are you OP?

My god. We are ghouls on this board.

Like salivating demons just waiting for more information.

😆Thing is, I'm genuinely salivating, it's so deliciously revolting! 😊😛

ThistleTits · 11/06/2022 19:05

Sunshinegirl82 · 10/06/2022 19:26

I'd put a hot compress on it, hot as you can stand but obviously be careful not to burn yourself. Hot bath will have the same effect. That might be enough to burst it.

Definitely this ^ or pharmacy. Probably be burst by the time you see this. Be a relief once in pops.

MMUmum · 11/06/2022 19:06

Get proper medical.assessment, prob needs antibiotics and dressings

user1493559472 · 11/06/2022 19:10

You need to get medical attention. Do you have any walk in centres near you?
Or minor injuries unit. Don't try to pop it or anything, it can get very infected. Good luck.

skybluee · 11/06/2022 19:12

This isn't medical advice but what I would do personally is soak in a warm bath with lots of sea salt so it is very clean, and then nick the surface with a sterlised needle to let it out. Then soak it again. I wouldn't squeeze it or mess with it, too much risk of forcing it backwards but by giving it a route out, it must be better than just letting it sit like that. The pressure would make it come out anyway.

OP I hope you're OK.

CoastalWave · 11/06/2022 19:15

How big is it?! Surely just whack a needle in it! Seems somewhat dramatic to be saying go to a&e etc.

My bet is it's an ingrown hair. I would pop it under water tbh!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/06/2022 19:16

Yep, there's a huge hair in there, you can see it in the photo, even with antibiotics it will still need to come out.

fetchacloth · 11/06/2022 19:20

AlternativelyWired · 11/06/2022 10:35

If you aren't feeling well then definitely see the GP out of hours as you'll need some antibiotics.

Totally agree with this advice. I had the exact same problem myself, in the same place, a while back and had to get an emergency GP appointment to sort it. I was given antibiotics straight away and paracetamol which sorted it.
Warning : when it bursts it makes a right mess so don't wear your best pants for a while😃

Pointynoseowner · 11/06/2022 19:20

Magnesium sulphate is your friend. Put it on apply dressing ,leave over night, the boil will have been drawn out with out pain

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 11/06/2022 19:24

I’m equal parts desperate for and frightened of more updates about this 🫣

Tigger1895 · 11/06/2022 19:25

Make a poultice of charcoal powder. Put it on for an hour and it’ll draw stuff out. Rinse and repeat. Trust me it’ll work

moofolk · 11/06/2022 19:25

Pop it pop it pop it!

Tigger1895 · 11/06/2022 19:25

Forget to say cover the poultice with a plaster

Mirw · 11/06/2022 19:30

Don't use Bath salts, it will be agony. Warm water and table salt. But go see your GP or the practice nurse to get it drained and packed. You might need an antibiotic to make sure it's not infected. Until you get it drained, warm water with table salt compresses and paracetamol.

MsOllie · 11/06/2022 19:37

They won't drain and pack that! I had this which was infected down to my boob and they were reluctant to drain it, and they generally have to do a GA because they can't numb infection
They might give antibiotics but again, probably not unless you're unwell with it

WhackyJac · 11/06/2022 19:41

Yes Mrs Doyle 😂😂😂😂

WOHA NELLY, THAT'S AN ALIEN GROWING IN YOUR PIT😱😱😱😱

Ddot · 11/06/2022 19:51

Do not stab, pierce or squeeze that bugger. Leave it alone, bathe and put hot flannel with water from kettle that has boiled then cooled. See a doctor or pharmacist if it too painful to put up with till it pops. If you feel ill then definitely see someone. Oooch
