Once, when I was about 20 my toenail started to hurt, I looked at it and it didn't seem different, but I noticed that the toenail was a teensy bit in the skin. I got the nail scissors out and cut the nail. It was like peeling open a can of ready-roll pastries-there was a small pause and then a pop as a small river of brown pus rolled out over my toe. I spent a happy half hour or so cleaning under the nail, and then over the course of about 6 months it grew out. I was almost sad when I said goodbye to the last thickened nasty toenail.
It has never happened again despite my best efforts to the contrary

NoEffingWay · 01/10/2021 21:06

@Teaandcakeordeath83 I have dealt with necrotic wounds before, once I had stopped retching it was interesting, but I would die on the inside if a toe fell off 🤮

I had a bartholemews cyst earlier this year which started as what I thought was a small spot that very quickly became huge. One night I woke up as I was particularly sore from it and pinched it which is when it finally made a hole and squirted some grimness out. The next morning it was just as swollen so I gave it a good squeeze and all the gunk came out and a solid white lump did too. So far it's not come back.

Underpaidsnackbitch · 04/10/2021 07:30

This thread is glorious! Thank you! I have two stories to contribute and not even NC-ing.
I must have been about 8 or 9 when I developed a very painful whitlow where I had chewed at my cuticle. My mum took me to the GP who offered the options of either, putting my finger in a bowl of hot water to make it pop, or going to A&E to get it seen to. I opted for the later as the boiling water option terrified me. This was the early 80s so I expect things are done differently now. Anyway, the doctor / nurse (can't remember which as it was a long time ago) inserted a mahoosive needle in it with local to numb it. Then out came an even bigger empty syringe which she stuck in and sucked out all the puss. I could not believe the amount that came out! I had to wear a weird cover over my finger for a few days after but it never came back!
Number 2, as an older teen I had to have my nose quarterised under a general. Woke up late in the evening in a side room with what can only be described as an old fashioned Dr White pad hanging under my nose. Was told under no circumstances to blow my nose afterwards. My nose was so full and horrid I woke myself snoringGrin. Anyway, when I finally was allowed to blow it a scab which was long ( well over an inch)and thick came out..it was magnificent and I wish I had taken a picture!

Only just discovered this topic on MN! Love it!

When he was younger my DS had a lovely big verucca which we treated. Expecting to find it in the plaster one day, it had gone missing leaving a lovely clean hole.

We never found it and reckon it would make a good title of a book: (DS) And The Missing Verucca...👍

On a separate note his new girlfriend loves pinning him down for a blackhead squeezing session. She'll fit in just nicely!

Iggly · 04/10/2021 12:00

I remember getting a regular spot in one of the glands in the corner of my mouth, edge of bottom lip. It would grow and grow and then finally, develop a head. Give it a pop and it would hit the mirror and I’d squeeze out a couple of centimetres of white stuff. Ah it’s only happened three times in my life but love it.

orangejuicer · 04/10/2021 21:38

Several pages in and I finally remember mine. Two massive (palm sized) jelly texture blood clots post c section. All normall apparently!

thekaratekid · 04/10/2021 22:52

I don't have any tales as glorious as half of these, but I'll add mine anyway!

When I was about 12 I noticed a sort of bump on the top of the tip of my nose. It wasn't red or hurting, but was definitely a bump rather than a blackhead or anything. I had just had a shower and was looking in the mirror thinking...I'm going to give that a squeeze. Well...the steamy air must have done something. I gave my nose the slightest squeeze and this thin column of solidified pus emerged out of the bump. I looked at it awe...it was about a centimetre tall and was completely straight upright out of my nose. I gave another squeeze and another half centimetre appeared. In my fumbling for a 3rd squeeze I ruined it and it broke off. It was utterly bizarre and I have never had a unicorn spot like it since. Confused

I also had the most horrendous lump appear in my groin as a teenager. I found it whilst washing and for an instant I thought it was some sort of tumour...before I gave it a poke and it hurt like hell. It was basically impossible to squeeze without a lot of pain. I tried tweeting out any potential ingrown hairs, tried heating it to bring it to a head...nothing. In the end I just gave it the biggest squeeze and it erupted with a load of white pus, but it didn't give half as much as I thought it would. It grumbled on like that for about 2 months...erupting and healing. I now have a nice pitted scar leftover from that one.

thetemptationofchocolate · 08/10/2021 12:28

DH was on his way home from work on a hot day. He was on a bike, and wearing shorts. A bee flew up his shorts, and he did well not to come off the bike in the traffic as it stung him in the groin.
All seemed to heal up well but he then got several boils in succession in the same place. He wouldn't even let me look at it, just took himself off to the doctor each time :(
He'd been in the bathroom, dressing the boil one day and came out saying a hard lump had come out. He never had another boil again so I'm guessing this was the sting of the bee that had eventually made its way out of him.

I have had a couple of times where I've had what I thought was a spot, and been waiting for a head to form. No head ever appeared but each time all it took was a fingertip touch and huge amounts of pus appeared. A lovely surprise for a sporner!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 08/10/2021 15:12

I think the magicians at FB have seen me reading this thread, because they keep suggesting Sporner videos for me.

‘Tis witchcraft, I tell you.

MadamMalkin · 08/10/2021 15:43

I had a boil type thing in my ass crack that I popped myself. The most foul smelling, cottage cheese type pus oozed out, it was so thick it was like squeezing toothpaste out of a tube. Disgusting but sooo satisfying, plus almost instant pain relief.

MadamMalkin · 08/10/2021 15:43

*awkward to do though, trying to look over my shoulder with a well positioned mirror

slipperybanana · 09/10/2021 02:05

When I was in primary school I had a wart on my middle finger on the inside it made me feel disgusting but wouldn't shift. I bit and picked it every day, there was a black bit in the middle and eventually one day I got it and ripped it out with my teeth. It bled for ages but healed after that and iv never had one since.

I took out my belly button piercing about 10 years ago but the top is still slightly open. Every few weeks I manage to squeeze out a lovely long flat white worm and the area goes from fat to flat once I've extracted it all. It's magnificent.

I once had a serious pain on my Fanny flap and discovered a small lump, it grew in a few hours to a red raw throbbing cyst, it was agony I felt it throbbing every single minute. I could pinch the skin with two fingers and basically hold it like a wee ball but it was agony. I took a deep breath and gave it a good hard squeeze, it popped with some force and a huge white splat could be heard hitting the mirror, the relief was immediate. I kept squeezing and lots of white then yellow then blood came out. I washed it and slapped a bit of sudocreme on and it was healed the next day. It was so satisfying and the pressure release was instant

Earlier this year I had a lymph node removed from my armpit. I was warned that the node site might take a little while to divert itself but the lymphatic fluid started building up in my armpit to the size of a tangerine. I popped in to see my amazing wound nurse who offered to syringe it out. I had no idea there was over a pint of yellow, frothy liquid in there. It was gloriously weird and I spent a long time staring at it.

It did heal itself one day and just spontaneously sorted itself out.

ohthestruggles · 11/10/2021 20:18

I had a lump on my back that I thought nothing of until one day it came to a head. I squeezed it and it was a massive whitehead but the pus was 'like cheese' as my partner put it. It keeps refilling. Only tonight it was inflamed and clearly yellow, it's just given a big crack and erupted, splattering the mirror. I said to my DP 'I've always wanted a spot like this' he is horrified.

Amazing! My partner is not a sporner at all and is horrified at what I watch on YouTube. I have found my people!

Noeffingway. Thank you for starting this thread! I can't tell the joy it has brought me!

YouJustFoldItIn · 15/10/2021 18:35

I produced a HUGE rope worm a few weeks ago. It was about 6 or 8 inches long and I had to pull it out. Not actually a worm at all, as it turns out. I had to google it to identify it, hence I know this now.

It was appalling, fabulous and terrifying all at once. I took a photo but I'm not sure I'm ready to share it with you even though I know this will break all your hearts. In my nightmares my anonimity is blown due to a security breach on MN and the world gets to see the minging lump of gunk that fell out of my arse with my real name linked to the photo.

ThePontiacBandit · 21/10/2021 22:17

ohthestruggles that sounds like it might be a sebaceous cyst? As delicious as it is to keep emptying it, you should probably consult your GP. They can get nasty and need surgery.

OP this thread has been a gift! Thanks for starting it.

I have a couple…had a few delicious boils in my bikini line following an attempt to do an at home wax with wax strips in my 20s (do not recommend this). Multiple occurrences of agonising pain until they came to fruition in a burst of yellowy-brown pus until it reached blood. It’s not surged in a while…

Years ago I had a weird thing where I felt like there was something up my nose. Fiddled with a tissue and it was like the entire lining of my nose came away! It was honestly the size of the tip of my finger. Before camera phones sadly. It bled for ages. This happened a couple of times then it healed up.

I’ve just had my leg out of plaster after almost 7 weeks and am enjoying the dead skin removal and sharing photos with my equally sporny sister Grin neither of our husbands are sporners so we help each other out.

turnthebiglightoff · 21/10/2021 22:22

I love you all. I have had some humdingers of tonsil stones - the one I had following a bout of pneumonia was the best. Size of a 29 pence piece! I also once coughed up an actual blood clot. I also removed a toenail - unassisted - with a bottle opener. It was dead and pus-sy green underneath.

It's so nice to be with friends Grin

skintasabint · 21/10/2021 22:28

I had a sore lump for a couple of days down below. When I was washing myself I felt a little prickle and when I looked I seen a little hair, so I pulled it, and pulled it and it was a massive coil of pube. No joke when uncoiled in was huge! It was so satisfying.

I've got a picture of it somewhere I'll root it out

TellerTuesday · 22/10/2021 22:49

When I was in secondary school I had a weird rash in the crease of my arm round from my elbow. It itched like mad and always looked so angry. DM took me to the dr numerous times until one GP sprayed it with nitrous oxide. A week of so later I was on a minibus on the way back from a hockey game and picking at the (now blackened) spots and one just pulled straight out with a root attached and a crater left in my arm. I didn't know I was a sporner until that day. Managed to keep it in some tissue paper for a few days until DM told me I was weird and through it away. Always reminisce about it when I see the small scar that's still there 25 years later.
