Presumably you're not using the steroid cream and mouthwash , as you're waiting to be seen?

I have been using it a bit as it hurts to even eat now so I've been having the mouthwash before eating

Bloody hell, can't believe how long you've waited to be seen by somebody with a clue!

Travelled 2.5 hours to have a 2 min talk and told it's probably nothing because I'm so young so it'll be lichen planus and he doesn't understand why I was urgently referred.
I've now lost my voice yet again, it's a croak ( no sore throat - stress?) And had this ulcer since February which hasn't responded to steriod topical tablets/cream or mouthwash.
He said if I still have problems in 6 months they will biopsy it just to confirm lichen planus.
I'm relieved I really am but I know deep down it isn't that. I was completely dismissed and made to feel stupid really.

That's terrible. Back to the GP?

How does OP know you're a dentist? How do you know that's her tongue? You've no duty of care to someone you don't know on the internet.

Can you ask for a 2nd opinion ? Go private for a check up ?
