This is the feedback thread for the 100 Mumsnetters who hosted a baby massage class in their home, courtesy of WaterWipes. For those who did not attend, there’s still a chance for you to win – please see details below.

Here’s what WaterWipes has to say: “We know that the first few months can be an unnerving time for new parents. Baby massage is a great way to strengthen the natural bonds between parent and baby and we hope these free classes with a qualified teacher will give parents a fun and informative experience as well as equipping them with some new skills and the confidence to trust that they are all their baby needs”

Attendees, please answer the following questions on your experience at the event, and if you were a host, answer the survey we’ve sent as well:

  1. What did you and your friends think of the WaterWipes baby massage class?
  2. Did you feel the class provided a bonding experience for you and your baby?
  3. Do you feel you took away some new skills or knowledge?

All attendees who give their feedback on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Boots voucher and 3 month’s supply of WaterWipes!

Non-attendees, for your chance to win a £150 Boots voucher and 3 month’s supply of WaterWipes, please answer the question below:
What are the moments you most enjoy with your baby?

Thanks and good luck!

Non attendee: I love spending quiet time with my recently turned one year old pointing at all the pictures in his books. He gets so excited and makes hissing sounds when he sees a snake! I hope his love of reading continues.

Bath time because it's a time to have fun with lots of toys in the bath and it's not as chaotic as other times so we can play and learn things like colours of toys and nursery rhymes as I wash them.

Gosiam80 · 04/11/2017 23:41

Non-attendees - each time I get to breastfeed my daughter these are the precious moments where we make eye contact and she holds my fingers; I love the little chuckles of excitement and laughter she makes as she anticipates getting her 'boobie fix' and listening to her suckles

strawberrisc · 05/11/2017 10:44

The best moments are when she wakes up first thing in the morning and makes eye contact with me. Makes my heart melt every time.

HelenSw4les · 05/11/2017 20:21

Non-attendee .... being with her and seeing her learn new things every day, she's such a treasure, every moment with her is worthwhile.

  1. My mum friends and I were all quite fresh to being mummies (August babies) so doing this class was great as we’d all just started getting brave enough to leave the house and have deep chats about baby bowel movements etc. It was great to be in an informal environment with such a friendly instructor.
  2. At the time I think most of us were a little wrapped up in the baby bodily functions (lots of wees and farts!) but since the course I’ve used the reminder sheet to do the massage routine daily. My baby grins when he realises what is going to happen and massage bath bed means that bedtime is an easy transition. We take that 15-20 mins of quality time looking at each other’s faces and he loves it.
  3. I definitely know which way to rub the tummy to make sure the poop comes out!

The moments I most enjoy with my son is night time cuddles the three bs in our house, bath time ,bottle and bed. While he's having a bottle we have a cuddle before he drifts off to sleep

My favourite times are morning cuddles and their smiles and gurgles!

grannybiker · 06/11/2017 18:24

Non-attendee - Loved those moments when she'd fall asleep after / during a feed and look so innocent and peaceful before waking again to gaze up and grant the hint of a smile.

MillieNZ77 · 06/11/2017 21:04

I hosted a group this morning & it was a really lovely session. Our instructor Anna was really lovely & held the group together well despite non compliant crawlers & hungry babies! Also the goodie bag was a lovey treat at the end 😀

1.What did you and your friends think of the WaterWipes baby massage class?
As second time Mums we all really appreciate the close 1:1 time with number two & it was a nice excuse to all come together in a relaxed set up

2.Did you feel the class provided a bonding experience for you and your baby?
It did, which is hard to get with the busy schedule of 2 under 3yrs.

3.Do you feel you took away some new skills or knowledge?
The teething & congestion clearing tips will be invaluable over the coming months but also nice tips on adapting the techniques for growing pains for the toddlers too.

1.What did you and your friends think of the WaterWipes baby massage class?

REALLY fun thanks

2.Did you feel the class provided a bonding experience for you and your baby?

It works the baby really pays more attention to me now

3.Do you feel you took away some new skills or knowledge?

Definitely. I'd watched videos on massage but didn't really have the confidence in what I was doing. Now I know what to do.

Thanks for everything I learnt a lot

Helsbells68 · 07/11/2017 12:32

Non-attendee: when she fell asleep and was finally quiet, then I could get some rest.

ha2el · 07/11/2017 15:20

jandoc · 08/11/2017 20:12

Non attendee - my favourite thing to do with my baby is curl up on the sofa and have some us time

tabbaz123 · 09/11/2017 08:36

Non-attendee - It has to be feeding time - from snuggling down and watching them gentle drink their milk, having time to look deep into their eyes and watch the love and attachment and bonding grow and develop - to the fun of weaning, introducing new flavours and textures and finger food fun

emmav6 · 09/11/2017 16:27

the quiet feeds in the night together :)
