This is the feedback thread for the 100 Mumsnetters who hosted a baby massage class in their home, courtesy of WaterWipes. For those who did not attend, there’s still a chance for you to win – please see details below.

Here’s what WaterWipes has to say: “We know that the first few months can be an unnerving time for new parents. Baby massage is a great way to strengthen the natural bonds between parent and baby and we hope these free classes with a qualified teacher will give parents a fun and informative experience as well as equipping them with some new skills and the confidence to trust that they are all their baby needs”

Attendees, please answer the following questions on your experience at the event, and if you were a host, answer the survey we’ve sent as well:

  1. What did you and your friends think of the WaterWipes baby massage class?
  2. Did you feel the class provided a bonding experience for you and your baby?
  3. Do you feel you took away some new skills or knowledge?

All attendees who give their feedback on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Boots voucher and 3 month’s supply of WaterWipes!

Non-attendees, for your chance to win a £150 Boots voucher and 3 month’s supply of WaterWipes, please answer the question below:
What are the moments you most enjoy with your baby?

Thanks and good luck!

  1. We had such a lovely time at our baby massage class! Our teacher Ruth was lovely and made everyone feel very relaxed. All the babies seemed to love the massage.
  2. It really was a lovely bonding experience. So lovely to connect with our babies in a new way and lovely to see them enjoying themselves.
  3. We took away some great tips and ideas for a relaxing bedtime routine and to calm down baby.
The waterwipes goodie bags were super. We all especially liked the changing mat- stylish and practical!

I hosted a massage class last week, and thought it was fantastic. Our teacher was a lovely lady named Amber, who was able to give us good massage tips, and she provided us with a brilliant class which we all enjoyed. The added baby sensory element at the end was fantastic and all the babies loved being pampered and then getting some stimulation from the lights and bubbles, it was a really good mix.
There was a lot of bonding with our babies at the class, baby massage is such a good way of bonding with your baby.
We definitely took some new skills away from the session. Thank you waterwipes!!

Blahblahblueblee · 02/10/2017 21:31

Non attendee: my favourite moment is when they do a proper belly laugh, their whole face lights up, their eyes smile and they look at you like your the funniest thing ever :)

ljbo · 03/10/2017 15:08

We had a lovely class with Anna. It felt nice and relaxed being in a home, and she gave us lots of useful massage strokes for particular times (teething, colds etc) as well as the general ones that were useful take away tips.
Massage definitely seems to help with bonding, and can be relaxing for mum as well as baby!
The class also prompted us to start having regular coffee mornings in each others' houses :)

1.What did you and your friends think of the WaterWipes baby massage class? Everyone enjoyed the class, it was relaxed fun and informative. The songs were good that went along with the different massage strokes. Ruth was lovely and explained all of the different techniques and benefits.
2.Did you feel the class provided a bonding experience for you and your baby? It class definitely provided a bonding experience. The babies were between 6-7months and made lots of lovely sounds during the massage session and smiles. Afterwards each baby seemed hungrier and more tired than usual; enjoyed a cuddle, feed and then falling asleep
3.Do you feel you took away some new skills or knowledge?
We had all previously attended baby massage classes but not together and we all definitely learnt new skills. For myself the waterwipes baby massage session taught me many new skills and the group had never heard any of the songs linked to the strokes before so it was wonderful that we all learnt that together.

Baby massage definitely promotes boning & is #PureLove. The time spend doing baby massage is so peaceful & happy.

Thank you MN & WaterWipes for the opportunity xx

I was lucky enough to host a class last week. My friends and I were excited to have win and it was a great opportunity to get all our babies together. Anna was fantastic, took the class at the babies pace and gave us loads of tips about how the massage could help with teething or wind etc. We definitely had a lovely chance to bond with our little ones and I'll be incorporating it into our bedtime routine with the new skills I've learnt. Thank you again x

My baby and I thoroughly enjoyed the Water Wipes baby massage session. It taught me new skills to help my daughter with her wind as well as a routine to use at the end of the day to relax her before bed. I loved the addition of the songs as it made my daughter smile and giggle which created a real bond between us.

Our class took place on 28/9. I invited 4 mums who I did antenatal classes with. This was the first time we'd all met since having our babies which really added to the class. It was all very calm and the babies seemed very relaxed - we were all trying to get that lovely eye contact between mum and baby, but sometimes the babies were more interested at looking at each other. The group enjoyed the hour massage class and we all felt we picked up a few easy massage techniques that we could use regularly. I love to use jelly on a plate when drying my little boys legs after his bath and he smiles away. Thank you mumsnet and waterwipes

dedalus21 · 09/10/2017 21:30

We really enjoyed the baby massage class provided courtesy of Water Wipes. It was a lovely chance for our ante natal class of first time mums to get together again and enjoy our babies at roughly two months old. Our instructor, Anna, was friendly, knowledgeable and fun, sharing insights and anecdotes along the way.
The experience definitely helped me and my friends bond with our babies. They all seemed to respond to the soothing, calm atmosphere and loved the sensation of being gently massaged.
None of us had attended a baby massage class before so we definitely took away new knowledge and techniques - particularly skills for dealing with colic and constipation and strategies for dealing with the next phases of baby development, including teething.
The goody bags were a hit (as was the prosecco that we provided!) Thanks to Mumsnet and Water Wipes for the experience.

Harriet2017 · 11/10/2017 10:30

Our group of 5 babies of all different ages and their 5 mums (of all different tiredness ranges) absolutely loved the baby massage class courtesy of WaterWipes. Our teacher Anna was fantastic and arrived with everything we needed to calm and nurture our little ones (as well as some brill goodbags stuff full of waterwipes including the travel size pack which is going to be perfect for the nappy bag during our first solo baby/mumma flight next week). The techniques we learnt were so useful, my full -speed-ahead 8 month old baby even fell asleep during the leg session he was so relaxed - some kind of miracle! My favourite bit was all the tricks of the mum trade - like face massage for clearing sinuses during cold season and jaw massage for troublesome teethers. We have always used waterwipes while my son was small but after Anna told us the other brands of baby wipes have ingredients such as animal fats in them we will keep using waterwipes until he's old enough to reach the sink!!! Thanks again for a fun, interesting and educating session!

Non-attendee. The baby falling asleep on me and wasting hours just gazing at them

vickyors · 12/10/2017 22:49

Non-attendee.
My favourite moments with my baby are tickling and physical play. I turn her upside down and blow raspberries on her tummy. She gurgles and it is wonderful!

Mummypower92 · 13/10/2017 00:00

The moments I most enjoy with my baby is bath time! I love how fun and calming the bath can be for my baby.

My favourite moments with my baby is when we are just dancing to music, he loves it and so do I!

theresamustgo · 13/10/2017 21:04

Non attendee. Best moments are walking in the park and just watching all the urban wildlife. Splashing in fountains is great too.

Gazelda · 14/10/2017 13:18

non attendee definitely cuddles. Lying in bed first thing in the morning, giggling and smiling at each other.

The moments where all my babies are in bed with me reading.

MoreProseccoNow · 14/10/2017 21:29

Non-attendee here!

My favourite moments with my babies were simple things: Bath time, walking them in the pram on a summer’s day, pushing them on the swing in the park.

Dangermouse80 · 15/10/2017 15:04

Non attendee; the moments I enjoy most are those quiet cuddles on the sofa when my other two kids are at school / pre school. It is more precious this time around as we are normally always on the go!

PugwallsSummer · 15/10/2017 17:12

Non-attendee. My favourite thing to do with my baby is nap. Love waking up with her next to me.

When he is with other people and looking for me in a room. And his face lights up when he sees me and he melts into my arms and I just know everything is good in his world as long as mummy is there. Makes me feel as though I'm doing an amazing job, every time.

Fizzyxo · 16/10/2017 22:31

Non-attendee. I cherish every moment with DS. One of my favourites is story time. I just love how he's so fixed on what I'm saying and the questions that he asks. It's so special when I hear him giggling at the sound effects I make.

I really don't want him to grow up, but sadly all kids do.

AnnaFarnell · 18/10/2017 11:42

My friends and I had an excellent baby massage class last week. Anna was a great teacher and it was a great opportunity to learn a new activity to do with the babies. Us mums all really enjoyed it and my twin boys certainly find it very relaxing! Thanks to Water Wipes for providing the opportunity.

LyndsS · 19/10/2017 10:44

Loved hosting the baby massage session. My friends and I had a great time bonding with our babies and learning a new skill. My baby seemed to really enjoy getting a massage, and I now feel confident that I could carry out a simply baby massage routine on my own.
