The prize draw for this activity has now closed.

Most people spend their time counting down the days until their family holiday as soon as the flights and accommodation are booked. Family holidays give us a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but most importantly allow us to let loose and have fun. Maybe you’re an adrenaline junkie who heads for the biggest slide at the waterpark or perhaps your idea of fun is basking in the sun at the poolside with a good book in hand. With this in mind, TUI wants to hear about your most fun family holiday.

Here’s what TUI have to say: “At TUI, we know that your family holiday is a time to reconnect and have fun. That’s why we’ve designed hotels especially for families to make it the best week, or two, of the year. From allowing you to take your car seat or pushchair with you free of charge, to offering baby changing facilities, kids’ clubs and children’s buffets in resort, we’ve thought of every little detail to give you a hassle free and family-friendly holiday. We’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about their favourite holiday moments with their family.”

If you were asked to name one family holiday that is most memorable to you as being “fun”, what would you say and why? What type of holiday do you feel you can get the most fun out of? Would you rather spend your time in good company, basking in the good weather or eating good food? What kind of activities do you do to make memories with your children on holiday? Perhaps you all jump into the pool the second you arrive at the resort? Or maybe you’d rather go on a family excursion to see the local sights and scenery?

Tell us about your most fun family holiday on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

The best family holiday we've ever had was actually the simplest one we've done! A week in Cornwall in a lovely cottage with my parents, plus my sister and her family. We had so much fun on the beach (even in the rain in our wellies!) loads of lovely walks, visited castle ruins & local markets. The kids all had a blast spending the week together and it really does show that holidays are about who you're with and the memories you make!

A surprise trip to Lapland to see Santa. The girls thought they were going to the local play park to see him and were surprised when we woke them at 5.0am for a flight to Lapland. The most magical time. A sleigh ride with huskies, a reindeer ride , a snow mobile and a visit to Santa in his workshop

Our first caravan holiday in France - kids were three and seven.

They loved the kids club, the bunk beds and all the activities in the park. Before travelling they were sent a holiday club pack with a tshirt, beach ball etc - DD wanted to wear that tshirt every day for two weeks!

We caravanned in France many more times over the years, very, very happy memories.

We had a fab holiday at a Haven park in north Wales at Easter this year. The weather was great, the accommodation much nicer than expected, and the pool and other activites at the site were fab for the children. We want to go again next year!

Our most fun has been at Centre Parcs. With two young children the last few years have been UK holidays.
We loved the adventures and activities, cycling and swimming and spending time outdoors spotting squirrels and deers in the woods.

A holiday with all the wider family in France and plenty of fun self arranged evening entertainment and food. Plus enough people to take it turns with DC and allow parents fun trips out you wouldn’t normally get on a smaller holiday as you’d be watching DC all the time.

europe.namely france.we went there every holiday apart from a few when we were younger.
we did the campsite.which were lovely.sometimes in the big tents.sometimes in the mobile homes.they were always in the nicest parts with plenty to do but also out of the way enough to be near nice villages with local boulangerie and restaurents.
we would be dragged by our parents on walks.to see the chateux and up mountains and we bloody moaned most days!but myyyyy am i glad they did now as they were the best of times.and we saw so many amaing places.
of course we also loved just staying on site in the pools and lakes.sitting reading all day or playing cards.or renting the onsite bikes and just riding around like we were free!
food was always cooked and then eating togther.usually via candle light on the terrace.with all the laughter of other families around.
much badmington and tennis was played too.
it was the greatest moments of life i can remember.

We went in our first foreign holiday with the kids this year. It was amazing. We went to one of the family life hotels and it was just so easy. That is what made it such a good holiday - everything was there to entertain the kids, the evening entertainment, the day entertainment, the baby lounge, the all inclusive food with a dedicated children's but with blander food. We had such a lovely time because we could just focus on each other. I can't wait to go again soon.

Our favourite holiday was in Mexico, through TUI at the Bahia principe.

The food was sensational, a la carte restaurants with lobster and tomahawk steaks cooked to perfection. It was one of those holidays where everything was perfect, beautifully sunny and sea like a warm bath.

We snorkelled with giant wild turtles and the kids just loved it. We had a couple of day trips to explore the local ruins and do a bit of shopping.

It's definitely my happiest holiday.

Our favourite was our Tui holiday to Lapland last year. It was amazing - singing Christmas songs on the plane, snowmobiling, husky and reindeer sleigh rides, chasing the Northern lights and a visit to Santa in his log cabin in the woods. DS never stops talking about it. It was magical.

our most fun holiday ever was on a French camp site. The Kids loved it mainly because there was so much to do and so many other kids to play with. My son remembers dressing up for a pretend wedding and playing hide and seek and becoming stuck in a caravan cupboard playing hide and seek. Of course the sun shone everyday and each evening we walked to the beach and had huge ice creams with sparklers and umbrellas in magic.

Mine was my dd's first trip on a plane - it was only to Edinburgh but as far as my youngest was concerned that was abroad!

I think think probably México this year, she was 2.5 at the time, we had great pools, were all inclusive and she tried lots of new foods, we also had unlimited access to Xcaret park which she loved, she enjoyed seeing all the new animals and plants and really enjoyed seeing the fish at the snorkelling inlet.
We also took her to Tulum and Chichen Itza which she was fascinated by, she still take about the clapping bird temple months later (at Chichen you clap at the base of temple and the sound coming back sounds like a bird call)

We find TUI holidays fun as the reps make everything so easy, from checking in to getting home. We've been lucky enough to go on three AI holidays with the company, and found Menorca especially fun - hotel with a great pool and trip to a waterpark kept the kids super-happy.

A holiday to Disney World Florida. We stayed in Animal Lodge and it was wonderful to wake up and see Giraffe, Zebra and antelopes when we drew the curtains. A day each in all the parks . Fantastic weather, rides and always unexpected characters round the corner. Even queuing for autographs seemed magical. Hope to go again.

Went to Turkey when LO was 6 months old(LOs first holiday and my first proper holiday too), OH WAS reluctant to book it as he felt LO won't remember anything and it would just be a whole load of hassle.
So we eventually booked it and LO had the most wonderful time swimming with his dad and playing in the sand everyday. The locals were cooing over him everywhere we went. The smile on LOs face when he was splashing in the toddler pool made it all worth while. When we got back home we caught the holiday bug and booked another straight away. Good timesSmile

The most fun was in Crete with our children when we managed to learn to windsurf and paddle board. Every day there were water sports for all of us to enjoy. I long for another holiday together when we laughed as much as that one.

Devon was our first family holiday. Brilliant place for adults and kids as there was so much to do whatever the weather: Killerton House, Dartmoor for a windswept walk and picnic, donkey sanctuary, butterfly farm, Exeter for a bit of shopping then cycling along the river down to Exmouth. Loved it as it there was always something to keep us all happy. If we could get jobs down there we'd move there. Smile

The most 'fun' holiday has been skiing. We are out all day as a family doing a fun activity. Then back to the chalet for cake and to chill out. DS usually makes a friend in the chalet which makes it even more enjoyable too. No one has to worry about catering or tidying up and we are all exhausted at the end of each day.
