The prize draw for this activity has now closed.

Most people spend their time counting down the days until their family holiday as soon as the flights and accommodation are booked. Family holidays give us a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but most importantly allow us to let loose and have fun. Maybe you’re an adrenaline junkie who heads for the biggest slide at the waterpark or perhaps your idea of fun is basking in the sun at the poolside with a good book in hand. With this in mind, TUI wants to hear about your most fun family holiday.

Here’s what TUI have to say: “At TUI, we know that your family holiday is a time to reconnect and have fun. That’s why we’ve designed hotels especially for families to make it the best week, or two, of the year. From allowing you to take your car seat or pushchair with you free of charge, to offering baby changing facilities, kids’ clubs and children’s buffets in resort, we’ve thought of every little detail to give you a hassle free and family-friendly holiday. We’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about their favourite holiday moments with their family.”

If you were asked to name one family holiday that is most memorable to you as being “fun”, what would you say and why? What type of holiday do you feel you can get the most fun out of? Would you rather spend your time in good company, basking in the good weather or eating good food? What kind of activities do you do to make memories with your children on holiday? Perhaps you all jump into the pool the second you arrive at the resort? Or maybe you’d rather go on a family excursion to see the local sights and scenery?

Tell us about your most fun family holiday on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Since we had two children under two (6 months and 18 months) we weren’t planning a holiday that year, but my husband had a fortnight booked off in September and we just decided to go for it.

We wanted a short journey with the babies so we went to Majorca. We got off the plane to torrential rain and dragged all the paraphernalia to the coach, only to realise that we’d somehow managed to book a resort with a two hour transfer time. So our “short journey” was actually incredibly long.

We dropped off our stuff and went out for dinner. The rain was so bad that we were the only people in the restaurant. The rain finally stopped after the older one had mangled an ice cream and we strolled back along the beach, where the sugar-filled toddler was overwhelmed with excitement and ran directly into the sea, fully clothed! Thankfully, it was shallow but she absolutely loved it - she spent most of the week in the water.

In fact, it rained most of the week but the kids didn’t care one bit. We still went to the beach and the pool, ate great food, played and relaxed in our apartment, went to the playground, explored Palma and even managed the odd cocktail.

We realised that holidays as parents would be different, but still fantastic. The children’s enthusiasm and complete disregard for what we as adults see as negatives (rain, long journeys, unforeseen circumstances) did not dampen their spirits one bit. That holiday taught me to see the world as my children do - exciting and full of opportunities for fun. Most of my favourite pictures were taken on that holiday. It taught me that life is what you make of it, the most important lesson parenthood has taught me.

We actually have more fun staying in the UK as travelling abroad is so stressfull! Our most fun-filled holiday's have been at Butlins and Haven as everything is in one place and there are so many activties to choose from and entertainment that goes on till late in the evening. Our little girl absolutely loves arriving at our caravan and unpacking her suitcase before we head out and explore the site for some fun. We visit the swimming complex everyday and enjoy all the slides and flumes and it's a blast.

Our best holiday was going to Lapland. We were incredibly busy doing different activities every day and exhausted by night time. The scenery was spectacular and different to anything we had experienced before. The weather was incredibly crisp and cold whilst the people we met there were warm and friendly.

Summers in Greece. We went to the same place every summer for at least 10 years. We got to know all the hidden coves and beaches. Little tavernas by the sea and azure blue waters to splash about it in with the kids. Chasing the odd gecko out of the apartment in the evenings before the kids would go to bed and then a glass of chilled wine on the balcony.

Best holiday was10 of us - brothers, sisters, kids and grandma renting a large house for a week in Weymouth. The kids loved the beach, then evenings in the house and garden putting on shows and talent contests. Fabulous week for an extended family.

Each year, we all get together before Christmas at Centerparcs and this is my favourite parts of the Christmas celebrations. Two sisters, their husbands and six cousins. Grandma comes, too. We do lots of activities and generally unwind. This year we have just returned from Sherwood Forest and we all had an amazing time.

we had a brilliant TUI holiday in turkey this year. First family holiday and we wer eable to spend most of the week in the pools with the kids. Their swimming skills came on brilliantly and they even learnt how to use snorkelling masks! also had some great evenings as the in resort entertainment was really good and we got to watch a show together every night before their bedtimes. They are still talking about this experience as the best part of their year!!!

Our first holiday abroad as a family. I cried so much in the coach on the way back to the airport as I didn't want it to end. The weather, the food spending time with my family without having to rush of somewhere else priceless.

Our most fun family holiday was to Portaventura. My teens were getting difficult to please at that stage so we did something that would please us all.
My most fun family holiday as a child was caravanning down the Gower. We never went abroad so I didn't know any better. I thought it was magical.

We took my daughter to Santorini on her first ever holiday. It was wonderful! We went out every morning whilst it was cooler and soaked in the scenery and then the afternoon was spent playing with my daughter in the pool! She is a water baby so loved it!

City Breaks are great. Night Life / People watching / Attractions / Shopping / Shopping / Variety of food from street vendors to restaurants.
Paris was very memorable with the galleries, (esp. Picasso) Notre-Dame, Seine, Eiffel Tower, Monmarte, Champs-Elysees, Moulin Rouge and Paris Disney etc.
Easy city to city on the Eurostar.
We like to freshen-up then dash out for food and see the sights and nightlife.

My favourite holiday was in a caravan in Torquay when I was about 12. There was so much for all the family to do. There were competitions for all ages and family games for everyone to get involved in like rounder and football. They also held a swimming gala. The whole family were busy and fully entertained for the whole week

Family camping trips to the Welsh coast. We camped in a camping park about 1 mile from the beach. The most vivid memory was a salad meal we had with cold baked beans. They really go well with a salad that I still do salads in summer with cold baked beans.

The most amazing holiday I have had with my family was a trip to Lapland the week before Christmas a few years ago. It was a truest magical experience that I will never forget. Meeting Santa, driving a snow mobile and husky sledding - it was amazing and my son absolutely loved it.
