The prize draw for this activity has now closed.

Most people spend their time counting down the days until their family holiday as soon as the flights and accommodation are booked. Family holidays give us a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but most importantly allow us to let loose and have fun. Maybe you’re an adrenaline junkie who heads for the biggest slide at the waterpark or perhaps your idea of fun is basking in the sun at the poolside with a good book in hand. With this in mind, TUI wants to hear about your most fun family holiday.

Here’s what TUI have to say: “At TUI, we know that your family holiday is a time to reconnect and have fun. That’s why we’ve designed hotels especially for families to make it the best week, or two, of the year. From allowing you to take your car seat or pushchair with you free of charge, to offering baby changing facilities, kids’ clubs and children’s buffets in resort, we’ve thought of every little detail to give you a hassle free and family-friendly holiday. We’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about their favourite holiday moments with their family.”

If you were asked to name one family holiday that is most memorable to you as being “fun”, what would you say and why? What type of holiday do you feel you can get the most fun out of? Would you rather spend your time in good company, basking in the good weather or eating good food? What kind of activities do you do to make memories with your children on holiday? Perhaps you all jump into the pool the second you arrive at the resort? Or maybe you’d rather go on a family excursion to see the local sights and scenery?

Tell us about your most fun family holiday on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Our most recent holiday has been our best as a family. We returned to the hotel in Cyprus we married in 10 years ago. It had changed over the years to a tui family life hotel and suited our 3 yr old perfectly. We all had so much fun reminiscing and enjoying the new parts. We'd love to arrange for everyone that came out for our wedding to go back again!

Our best holiday was tent camping in Elie, Scotland. We spent all our time at the beach (DS in the water with his wetsuit) and were wet and cold, but the campsite had good cafes and restaurants, so we sat there with hot drinks, warming up. Memorable for being a bit of a rubbish holiday, as it rained periodically, but it was fun, nevertheless and DS got to use his new swimming skills in the waves.

One of our best family holidays was going to Costa Rica with TUI. Children saw rainforest for first time which was magical and lots of wildlife - sloth, raccoons, monkeys, toucan, coati in the wild and a family of raccoons often came to see us at the hotel restaurant each night. Ziplining from a great height was really exciting and the kids still talk about the zipline and the baby raccoons.

My third wedding. ( I did marry the same twice) was booked with Thomson's for September 2015 , On the lovely island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands off the coast off Africa.
It was fantastic.
Having all my six grandchildren and children there was just amazing.
It hadn’t been a particularly hot summer in the north of England that year and we were all desperately in need of some fun and sun.
Having priced up a conventional wedding in the uk for a modest 50 guests, I quickly came to realise that for the same money we could fly all my ten family members for a destination beach wedding for a full week , in a four star hotel, half board for the same price.
Under £5k..great value.
It was also a multi national wedding.
As well as my close family from the uk, we had other guests from Dorset, Wales, two Russians , a swede and a Spaniard .
La Siesta in playa de las Americas was a first class family hotel, with beautiful clean swimming pool and terrace area, plenty of entertainment for adults and children alike.
The hotel is well located for the beach which is where the wedding took place and lots of local shops and bars but most of all it was just seeing my grandchildren enjoying the freedom of the hotel and pool in the lovely hot sunshine.
Sixteen of us stayed in that hotel so there was always someone keeping an eye out for them , although there were lifeguards on duty as well.

It truly was the happiest week of my life , culminating in a moving ceremony at sunset on the beach when I said “I do” to my lovely man.

When it was time for my family to return back to the UK, at the end of their week, as we were having an extra week honeymoon , silly old sod that I am, I cried buckets.

If I could do it all again..before the grandkids get too old and start disappearing in different directions, I would.

It was magic!
The best holiday, wedding and honeymoon ever all rolled into one..and I should know..I’ve had three.

My best (and only sadly) TUI holiday was a trip to Rhodes at the Aegan Atlantic Blue resort. It was awesome.

We stayed with my whole family, my parents my sister and my DD and we had such an amazing holiday. The waterpark in the resort was fabulous and the pools and food were amazing. Even now my DD talks about this trip, to this day and wants to go again!

Our most memorable holiday was the first time we ever stayed in a villa in Greece. The villa was huge and the grounds were amazing. There was a friendly cockerel and some cats wandering about the gardens. Our own swimming pool felt like such a luxury. We had great fun exploring and sunbathing on the veranda with our feet up as if we owned the place... if only! We picked lemons from the garden and the whole time was idyllic!

My most fun family holiday was a trip to California. It was magical and you could really taste the excitement of Hollywood. Beautiful beaches, amazing things to do and so much happiness around you with the movies, theme parks and wildlife. The whole family remembers it so fondly and if we had the money I'd be back in a heartbeat

A special extended family holiday to a Greek island, we had a villa with gorgeous views, the local people were really hospitable, but most special of all was the beach that took a bit of effort to get to but we were often the only ones on it in August!

When I was young, the holiday fun started at the airport for me. Check in, the magic of bottles and sparkly things in duty free and beautiful hostesses on the plane with baskets of sweets at take off and landing. My parents always made sure every part of the holiday was fun, and I think that was possible as they chose the holiday company wisely!

I remember holidays with my parents to Italy or Spain when I was young as lasting for weeks and weeks of days at the pool and games with the lilo and new Harry Potter books that had suncream stains. Holidays are all about the people your with, whether it's a resort or a cabin in the mountains in sun or snow.

Nowadays, we like to make sure we have a good balance of sightseeing, activities and relaxation - and if a holiday company can help us with that it's ideal!

Now, my family have carried on the tradition my parents started with me..when we get to the resort, quick change to pool clothes and down to the pool bar for any 'anything you pleasies' snack time - anything and everything you desire- followed by cracking open the books for the trip on the sun lounger and a dip in the pool.

We went to the seashore holiday park in Great Yarmouth.
It was great fun, we went swimming every day, the children spent a lot of time feeding 2ps into a coin dropper machine to try and win key rings.
We got caught in a massive rain storm and my red primark vest top ran and I had a red outline on my top half for ages.
We took the dog with us and our youngest son was squealing with fear that he was going to swim away in the sea - we didn’t know the dog could swim!!
We ate chips on the market where there are kiosks that sell chips in rows all competing for trade- a seagull pooped in mine!!
Lovely holiday memories

My best holiday was when we went to a fire in France. The experience of driving and how beautiful it was. X

We love getting ferry from Wales to Ireland to visit Nanny and grandad. The holiday starts on the ferry and so much more freedom than flying!

We had a week in France. We were outside lots and our children slept really well for once. We also took turns letting each other sleep in.
We can’t remember where or where exactly it was or what else we did or if we stayed in a house or chalet- all we remember is the sleep Grin We refer to it as the holiday of sleep when we reminisce about it.

My Husband suffered a brain injury in 2011 when my boys were just 6 and 1, so we went a long time without a family holiday as we could neither afford it or had the confidence to go away. I actually won a family holiday to Florida in 2018 and it was amazing. We swam with dolphins and did the theme parks. We swam every day in the pool and spent some quality time in the sunshine altogether, making memories for 3 out of 4 of us (hubby lost his memory in the accident and can’t lay down new memory paths).

We had a great time in France last year. There was a gorgeous beach within walking distance of our campsite and we spent quite a bit of time just pottering around there. It was a proper bucket and spade holiday.

The most fun holiday I had was with my 15 year old daughter this year to Thailand. Just the two of us I was worried about dragging her away from her mobile phone. But the holiday started well when we checked into our hotel with swim up room. Fantastic for cooling down each day. We had great fun getting used to the culture and each day the ladies asking us if we wanted “massage”. Eventually we both had a massage on the beach, laying side by side! The beach was amazing, the Big Buddha worth a visit. But the most fun and memorable experience was visiting the elephant sanctuary. Being up close to these magnificent animals was truly breathtaking. Having a mud bath with them in the rain was the most fun I have ever had. Sharing with my beautiful daughter - priceless!!

The best ever was a holiday with my parents when I was about 16 - to the Dominican Republic. Our first ever all inclusive and before they became mega popular. We holidayed abroad every year but we'd never experienced anything like it! Several pools, unlimited food and drink, water sports, lovely rooms, friendly staff and such wonderful weather. 20 years ago (!) and I still think of it xx

Porto Santo the year before last. We had 2 children under 3, and it was such a fun holiday as everything was so easy. The food was fab, the hotel had lots for the kids and the beach is incredible so we spent long days playing on the beach and the pools and eating and drinking - wonderful family time and memories.
