The prize draw for this activity has now closed.

Most people spend their time counting down the days until their family holiday as soon as the flights and accommodation are booked. Family holidays give us a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but most importantly allow us to let loose and have fun. Maybe you’re an adrenaline junkie who heads for the biggest slide at the waterpark or perhaps your idea of fun is basking in the sun at the poolside with a good book in hand. With this in mind, TUI wants to hear about your most fun family holiday.

Here’s what TUI have to say: “At TUI, we know that your family holiday is a time to reconnect and have fun. That’s why we’ve designed hotels especially for families to make it the best week, or two, of the year. From allowing you to take your car seat or pushchair with you free of charge, to offering baby changing facilities, kids’ clubs and children’s buffets in resort, we’ve thought of every little detail to give you a hassle free and family-friendly holiday. We’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about their favourite holiday moments with their family.”

If you were asked to name one family holiday that is most memorable to you as being “fun”, what would you say and why? What type of holiday do you feel you can get the most fun out of? Would you rather spend your time in good company, basking in the good weather or eating good food? What kind of activities do you do to make memories with your children on holiday? Perhaps you all jump into the pool the second you arrive at the resort? Or maybe you’d rather go on a family excursion to see the local sights and scenery?

Tell us about your most fun family holiday on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

My DC enjoy a caravan holiday; favourite park has a horse riding stables next to it so they get to go on pony treks, play in the arcade and eat out most nights. I think it's just fun to be somewhere different and have more relaxed rules and just spending time together without the usual routines. Definitely doesn't need to be a fancy holiday or too far away for DC to have a great time.

We went to Crete this year after a horrible 12 months and had the best time lying in the sun and watching our little boy playing in the pool - not exciting but exactly what the doctor ordered!

Our best holidays were camping, as a child it's such an adventure going to the campsite and having some freedom. I met many friends and spent so much time riding my bike around the campsite and spending quality time with my family going on days out to the beach and local attractions.

My best family holiday was just me and my mum going to Rhodes for 2 weeks. We played bingo the first night there and i won 2 full houses so that paid for our trips for the time we had there, so we got out and explored a lot more than we expected to. Markets, beaches, old castles it was all amazing.

I think the one my children would choose as most fun was when we rented a houseboat on a canal in Amsterdam for a week. It had masts and a steering wheel, it looked like a pirate ship. We also rented bikes and cycled around all week, but the houseboat was the highlight.

Our first family holiday in a caravan in Wales, was the most fun. It was the first time my children had sat and played on a beach or been to a water park, we all had a fantastic time.

I think it would have been a holiday to West Wales a few years ago. We got lucky, and seemed to have picked the only week of continuous good weather that summer.
This meant lots of time playing on the beaches, taking walks, visiting castles. And having a very good time.

Two weeks on a working Dairy Farm in Cornwall with a smuggler's hut and a private beach with loads of rock pools and caves was heaven for me as a kid 😀

A week in Weymouth in a caravan - it poured with rain every single day & night so we couldn;t do much in the way of getting out and about so mum & dad bought some board games and a couple of decks of cards. Turned out we had a brilliant week of family fun time!!

The first holiday I remember was with the whole family to Beverley Holiday Parks in Paignton. The weather was fantastic, the park was amazing and we all had a fabulous time exploring that area, as there is so much to see down there.

Our most fun holiday was to a Holiday Village resort in tenerife, it was geared up towards all members of the family that we could all find time to relax and have fun doing activites we all wanted to do together and separetly throughout the day and evening. The rooms were comfortable and had everything a family needed, and the food was plentiful and varied enough thatvthere were the basic kiddie favourites and local more interesting foods too

My favourite holiday was to Negril, Jamaica over Christmas and New Year. This was with my husband and my parents. It was wonderfully easy going holiday with some surprises. Father Christmas paraglided onto the beach on Boxing Day with presents for all the guests. Later in the week my mother decided to paraglide over the bay. The crew treated her well, but dumped an irritating chap in the water! My husband took my mother as pillion on a wetbike. She checked first that she wouldn’t get her hair wet and off they went. A sharp turn into a wave and Bryn stalled the bike and my mother flew over the top of the handlebars into the sea. Wet but unhurt. We went snorkelling off the hotels boat over a reef and Bryn jumped in and had a good go at drowning. A few days rest on the beach with restorative dirty banana cocktails and he was ready to try waterskiing. Unfortunately someone else had an accident waterskiing so he decided to give it a miss and headed to the sanctuary of the subbed. The rest of the holiday was incident free as we took a cue from Dad, and lounged on the sun beds.
Happy Days.

We cruised the Caribbean when our two were 7 + 11 and they loved every minute of it, each port of call was different and there was so much to see and do.

We had a marvellous holiday in Derbyshire, renting a cottage in a large village. As well as the simple pleasure of living in the countryside, we visited a number of attractions including Crich Tramway Museum and The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath and went on lots of walks along old railway lines, particularly along the Tissington Trail and also around Cromford.

Our most fun holiday was in Majorca a few years ago. All my family was there, more than 20 of us. Even better because our in-laws treated us all.

My favourite family holiday was in Rochelle in France. We drove down and stayed self catering in a caravan, which was situated on busy site. My boys just lived in the pool and had a marvelous time without it costing loads of money :)

A short break at the end of season - a flat near the beach in isolated part of West Wales - kids put on their wellies and we enjoyed muddy puddles (before they became fashionable) and rock pools on the beach along with loads of other simple pleasures

Took DD to Disney World Florida for 2 weeks when she was 5, she still believed and was tall enough for all the rides ... It was amazing, as good as people say it is! Sea World, Gatorland, waterparks etc Be warned, you may feel like you need a holiday to recover once you get home!
