Christmas is just around the corner which for many means the present lists are out and shopping mode is on. Thinking of what special gifts to get for everyone can be quite a task, however good old homemade treats often spread Christmas joy the most. Cadbury would like to know your homemade gift ideas using chocolate.

Do you create little Christmas chocolate hampers or gift bags? Perhaps you bake a chocolate cake and use individual chocolates or crumbled Flake or Crunchie as decoration? Or maybe you melt your favourite Cadbury chocolate and turn it into lollipops or transform it into your own bespoke chocolate bark to hand out?

Whatever your homemade chocolate gift ideas, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

My sister adores flakes, so last year we made her a flake themed Hamper, with different sized flakes, flake hot chocolate and flake topped biscuits and cakes.

we tried the Chocolate coin maker toy a few years back - absolute disaster! now we make little snowballs out of moulded milk chocolate dipped in desiccated coconut, guests love them!

My little one loves to make chocolate gifts for family and friends so we make a batch of chocolate fudge and he has a whale of a time drizzling different flavours of melted chocolate over it and covering it with nuts and sprinkles!

We melt choc to make our own decorated Easter eggs at Easter. We've started doing it at Christmas but fashioning them into christmas characters like santa and rudolph.

We tend to do DIY selection boxes too giving more variety than the standard boxes.

I buy bars of either Cadbury's Dairy Milk, Or Bournville, and we melt the chocolate over a pan of water, divide into several bowls, add different dried fruit or nuts to each bowl for variety, and then add little chocolate stars, white look gorgeous, mix in, spread the mixture onto a lined baking tray, leave until nearly just set, you can spray on edible glitter for Xmas, then when completely solid, break into pieces, we put the broken pieces of chocolate into jars, or cellophane, and then tie with a pretty ribbon and add a home-made gift tag, it looks so pretty!

Making homemade decorated gift boxes which the kids always loved doing and then using Christmas moulds and of course melted Cadbury's chocolate made great gifts that were fun to do and to sample!

vincenta · 06/12/2017 09:24

we usually bake gingerbread cookies and use melted chocolate to decorate them.

cluckyhen · 06/12/2017 09:29

We make chocolate cookies and then decorate as we see fit - not that we gift them though

ikkle87 · 06/12/2017 09:58

We have some animal shaped moulds that we pour melted chocolate in and place a lolly stick in and make chocolate lollies, my son loves making them and eating them and you can get any other shape mould

You can also make chocolate slabs by pouring melted chocolate into silicone moulds - either rectangle shaped or i find the large round yorkshire pudding moulds are good as you can make bauble shapes then. Pour in melted chocolate and whilst still soft add sprinkles, sweets, edible glitter etc. Once set wrap in cellophane and a ribbon and they double up as a gift and a christmas decoration

I love making chocolate lollipops - they're super easy to make for all ages and look lovely wrapped in cellophane with a ribbon tied around the stick!

rachelbonness · 06/12/2017 14:07

I like to cook with raw chocolate as we are trying to eat more vegan foods. It is amazing and tastes just the same as the milk version of chocolate!
