Christmas is just around the corner which for many means the present lists are out and shopping mode is on. Thinking of what special gifts to get for everyone can be quite a task, however good old homemade treats often spread Christmas joy the most. Cadbury would like to know your homemade gift ideas using chocolate.

Do you create little Christmas chocolate hampers or gift bags? Perhaps you bake a chocolate cake and use individual chocolates or crumbled Flake or Crunchie as decoration? Or maybe you melt your favourite Cadbury chocolate and turn it into lollipops or transform it into your own bespoke chocolate bark to hand out?

Whatever your homemade chocolate gift ideas, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I love the homemade reindeer hot chocolate bags (piping bag, layered with hot choc, marshmallows & Choc chips & styled as a reindeer) + reindeer pots (brown plant pot, styled as reindeer & filled with Choc treats) .. fab xmas novelty ideas (Pinterest is your friend!) Wink

We make rocky road with cranberries. Love it a bit too much!

We melt down Cadbury's milk chocolate and put it into different shaped molds. We've done different things, sometimes we just make chocolate shapes, wrap them in foil and use ribbons so they can be hung on a Christmas tree, other times we have added things like marshmallows and sprinkles and then placed the chocolates in a clear plastic bag and tied with a ribbon. They make excellent pretty presents for teachers and grandparents.

I make mini chocolate cheesecakes and top with whipped double cream with a dash of Baileys! Then sprinkle grated chocolate flake on top. The Baileys gives a real zing to these mini cakes and are easily made.

We make Chocolate Brownie Stars as a gift for my mum. They look beautiful sprinkled with icing sugar and put in a celophane bag and tied with Christmas ribbon Xmas Smile

I make raw chocolate truffles, as they don't have to look too tidy but are incredibly tasty and healthy too.

You can't beat good old chocolate crispy cakes. You can add a nice christmas twist and make them look like christmas puddings by putting melted white chocolate on top and piping on some holly.

I make a lovely caramel shortbread with milk chocolate on top and then make xmas shapes for decoration out of white chocolate

We make ginger biscuits cut into stars or rounds (aka baubles) then decorate them with melted chocolate. Lovely little gift in an old coffee jar with ribbon round.

When my children were younger we used to make chocolate butterfly cakes with lots of sparkly glitter sprinkles on top. They would then arrange them on a Christmas paper plate , cover with cling film, stick a bow on top, then make and write a gift card to give to grandparents. I had to be so organised as it took them ages and I couldn't do anything else at the same time! Made, given and received with so much love so well worth it Smile

Nigella's chocolate fudge made with chocolate and carnation milk is absolutely delicious and goes down a treat. We make a big batch and DD gives to friends, relatives and the postman!

jen1984j · 05/12/2017 12:23

We make christmas kisses - they are easy to make and you can decorate them however you like

snare · 05/12/2017 12:50

I love homemade chocolate truffles at Christmas :)

emiai · 05/12/2017 12:56

Home made gifts can work out to be more costly in the long term.. I tend to therefore make my own gift tabs, bags and wrapping paper instead.. No one wants a remelted bit of chocolate, or some dodgy kind of fudge.. Give me cadburys any day!

lorrainej162 · 05/12/2017 12:59

Melted mars bars mixed with cornflakes are delicious!

myboycraig · 05/12/2017 15:34

chocolate chip cookies and muffins is where my talent ends Grin They go down a treat though Smile

Tentomidnight · 05/12/2017 16:01

Christmas chocolate ivy leaves (chocolate mould) with gold edible spray. We add peppermint essence to the chocolate.

Snurf · 05/12/2017 16:15

I aways melt a large bar of Cadbury's chocolate in a small fondue type pot with a tea light under it when we have family here. The kids love to dip things into it for a treat. Strawberries, banana slices, pretzels, even more chocolate! Keeps them busy for ages!

WonderLime · 05/12/2017 16:29

I’ve made truffles in this past, but this year I’m making up some chocolately tray bakes and cutting them into squares for gifts

andreaca · 05/12/2017 19:59

we like to make cake pops covered in yummy chocolate, and chocolate sprinkles. (and add a shot of rum for the adults cakepops )

fayesmummy · 05/12/2017 20:55

I make turn the chocolate into grown up chocolate and make irish cream truffles. I adore them!
