Christmas is just around the corner which for many means the present lists are out and shopping mode is on. Thinking of what special gifts to get for everyone can be quite a task, however good old homemade treats often spread Christmas joy the most. Cadbury would like to know your homemade gift ideas using chocolate.

Do you create little Christmas chocolate hampers or gift bags? Perhaps you bake a chocolate cake and use individual chocolates or crumbled Flake or Crunchie as decoration? Or maybe you melt your favourite Cadbury chocolate and turn it into lollipops or transform it into your own bespoke chocolate bark to hand out?

Whatever your homemade chocolate gift ideas, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Chocolate lollipops. Have just ordered some gorgeous snowman, gingerbread man and Christmas tree moulds, along with some red and white butchers twine to tie up the cellophane wrapper and some little snowflake tags. DD(5) will make them for her friends.

I make blocks of Rocky Road with Cadbury’s chocolates. Melt the chocolate down and gently stir lots of broken biscuits, marshmallows, dried fruits, Cadbury’s fingers, etc etc in. Chill and chop into bars for gifts.
Also make small jars of chocolate sauce mixed with baileys as gifts.
Yum

I melt choc and pour into spoon moulds for eating desserts with.

I make yule log and cover with melted chocolate.

DH makes a fudge with peanut butter & chocolate in the microwave.

Chocolate covered biscuits

We make reindeers by melting chocolate and pouring into a round reindeer head shape. Before it dries we stick on the facial features.
The antlers are red bootlace sweets, ears are almonds, nose is half a glace cherry and the eyes are raisins or sultanas.

Chocolate fudge, chocolate truffles and chocolate slabs are perfect easy recipes for homemade gifts.

I LOVE making chocolate covered dates with dairy milk.
I've tried using other chocolate but of course it never tastes the same.
I have to try NOT eating the chocolate as I'm melting it!.......WinkWink

TOP HATS! A Northern Irish delicacy.
The recipe: melted chocolate in the bottom of a mini bun case, stick a marshmallow in it, dab small bit of melted chocolate on top of the marshmallow and stick a smarty on top.

They look like little top hats and they taste delicious -- spongey, gooey, chocolatey with a bit of smarty crunch. Always bring a plate home on the ferry for the cousins at xmas.

I make lebkuchen stars dipped in chocolate - always well received and very yummy!

I make Christmas pudding biscuits topped with chocolate and icingCake

minceandpotatoes · 22/11/2017 22:02

One year me and DD baked chocolate cakes in little Christmas tree shaped moulds, then decorated them with green icing and little sweets. They made lovely gifts.

allthingsred · 22/11/2017 22:03

Chocolate truffles are always fun to make this time of year, and are good present's.
After easter & Christmas we always make a fridge cake to try to use it all up.

DaisyDando · 22/11/2017 22:33

We hang Cadbury’s Roses on little Christmas trees and give them as gifts when we go visiting. It’s kitsch and delish.

ErinSophia · 23/11/2017 00:04

I make chocolate brownies using Lindt chocolate!

From North America - peppermint bark - milk or dark chocolate flavoured with peppermint oil on the bottom of a baking tray, cooled in fridge, then topped with the same in white chocolate and chopped up candy canes. Cool again in fridge. Then chop in pieces with a very sturdy knife. A bit addictive.
A good friend of ours only knows how to make pavlova, so brings that topped with fruit and a flake. (Although I prefer crunchie).

CoffeeAndEnnui · 23/11/2017 01:29

Glouriously festive candy cane bark:

We use Dairy Milk and Bournville chocolate melted, snapped up, melted and swirled together. We pour the chocolate into molds and then festoon the little puddles of cocoa with the seasonal red, white and green of shattered candy canes.

It's the simplest sweet treat we make but also the one which provides the most fun. Our DD and her friends particularly enjoy smashing the canes into minty dust and shards. Then licking their fingers clean of the debris!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 23/11/2017 01:30

*gloriously

I do a fab chocolate, pear and almond tart. The recipe was given to me by my Grandma but I have a feeling it might actually be a Cadbury one from years back. It tastes amazing but can look a bit dreary when it comes out of the oven, so I go all our with the gold spray to Christmas it up. Lovely stuff.

daniel1996 · 23/11/2017 08:06

home made peppermint creams, easy and fun to make, and taste delicious, no cooking required. We make green and pink ones and then dip in melted chocolate. When you buy a set of gift boxes, it is a great gift for grandparents and aunties.

TorNayDoh · 23/11/2017 08:29

Shaped ice-cube tray, melted choc, hundreds and thousands/sprinkles whatever. Great to do with little ones to "make" a present.

starlight36 · 23/11/2017 10:08

We make Christmas ginger and cinnamon biscuits. Some are decorated with white icing but others are dipped into melted chocolate. Yum!
