We have been asked by the team at lights by TENA to find out your top tips for remembering to do pelvic floor exercises.

lights by TENA say "We all know, improving your pelvic floor tone reduces your chances of experiencing little leaks through strengthening those vital muscles - we'd love to know how MNers remember to find the time to do them. What's more we have developed a new app - available here to download!"

Please note, your anon comments may be used by lights by TENA on their website, social media and possibly elsewhere. Please only add a comment if you're happy for it to be used.

Add your comment to this thread and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £150 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list)

Thanks and good luck

This thread makes me so happy.

Bloody good for Tena - positive action can change everything!

So, science says hold for count of 10 and then 10 quick flicks three times a day, every day, for 3-4 months, then, once a day, every day unitl you die. 80% cure rate for stress incontinence, so, sneeze away!

Gotta relax it too, "Let it go, let it goo-oo"

If you need a bit of nagging - @gussiegrips. I tweet, you twitch your twinkle. You will, you know...

In a lift. Hold in between floors while trying not to grimace at fellow passengers!

TheEnduringMoment · 07/12/2014 00:54

Following Gussie's post, it's just occurred to me that it's either rather stupid or heroically public spirited of Tena to be promoting something that could put them out of business. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and a round of applause.

daisydaisy75 · 07/12/2014 07:04

I have to say I do them very very rarely. I have ,,leaking,, problem and wear pads every day. Very good protection. Always make me feel safe and quite confident.

Do them during emmerdale

happysouls · 07/12/2014 15:21

Its a good thing to do while waiting for the kettle to boil and since I'm doing that many times a day its a great habit to get into!

Ritakd · 07/12/2014 17:15

I do them while brushing my teeth & try to remember to do them when I'm eating breakfast too.

Baconknickers · 07/12/2014 17:59

Try and do then every time you stop at a red light, my yoga teacher drummed into us the importants of these exercises when we did pregnancy yoga with lift visualisations. Really helped I found post birth getting back into shape in that area.

Finding a memorable parallel activity is the key. I always do mine when washing up, it's almost subconscious these days. After two giant babies I've seen an incredible difference after a few months of squeezing while doing the pans.

Zansy · 07/12/2014 19:59

I clean my teeth twice a day and do my pelvic scrunchies at the same time

RifRaf · 08/12/2014 00:21

Seeing a thread about them is a good reminder in itselfWink

googietheegg · 08/12/2014 13:36

I only remember when I see Tena Lady's in the supermarket...which probably isn't your marketing strategy to be fair, but it works for me!

From now on, I'm going to get squeezing every time I wash my hands so I get a rock hard pelvic floor instead of one that is not a friend of anything more energetic than a brisk walk.

Cherryjellybean · 08/12/2014 14:51

I do it often after going for a pee, or if anyone mentions them.

Babycarmen · 08/12/2014 15:22

I set a reminder on my phone after having my second daughter haha

SagaNorensSnowflakeTrousers · 08/12/2014 17:28

I do them when I have an argument with my DH...I wonder if it's a good or bad thing that mine are very, very strong? Confused

Kem99 · 08/12/2014 21:43

I do some when brushing my teeth am & pm everyday and then once a week when I'm watching DS's football lesson I do quite a lot. Have been doing them for years now so can do them standing up no problem.

AngelaOctopus · 08/12/2014 22:42

Are you considering adding the health promotion advice that Gussie recommended (and offered to help with) on the last thread that you started? I really think that should form the basis of any promotional/marketing strategies developed for these products.

Why not put reminders on the products themselves? My physio has advised that after going to the toilet is a really good time to do the pelvic floor exercises, ie after you have just engaged with the muscles involved. Also, it can help to encourage the pelvic floor to close everything off.

A reminder on the product could be a great opportunity to encourage women to do their exercises at a key moment of the day.

IWasThere4Aug12 · 08/12/2014 23:38

I try to do them at traffic lights but forget. Must download the app...

artex · 09/12/2014 00:00

Oh, while waiting for the green man at road crossings

catsofa · 09/12/2014 02:28

I stuck little orange dot stickers on my kettle, bathroom mirror and cat food jar. Start squeezing whenever I see an orange sticker.

I also do them just whenever I am bored, as I find they make me quite horny so pass the time very pleasantly.

Kathderoet · 09/12/2014 04:12

Every time I wash dishes for some reason I remember, as I have lots of dishes I've got some mighty fine pelvic floor muscles, not bad after 4 kids!

mindingalongtime · 09/12/2014 13:38

Doing my pelvic muscles on my own has the wrong effect, it makes me feel .........OOh, so I practise them in bed!

mindingalongtime · 09/12/2014 13:39

catsofa glad to see I am not the only one!

deraila · 09/12/2014 14:31

set an alarm!
