Hey! I’m new here 👋 my sons nc was posted 7/2 and sd 11/2. I had to call last week as hadn’t had a text to say they had received it but the call handler told me the sd. Were claiming for autism and development delay, he’s 3 in a couple of weeks and during his last development assessment it showed he was around 12 months behind in most areas and is non verbal, he’s had several send observations done in nursery and they have now applied for a ehcp which we are waiting on. He’s been referred to neurodevelopment pathway and is under SALT. He’s a runner and climbs everything so needs constant supervision even in nursery as he attempts to escape to the rest of the school and he has a lot of night time needs as he just won’t sleep 😴 one tired mama here! It was actually nursery who advised we put a claim in to Dla so fingers crossed we don’t wait too long and we get a positive outcome.

Oh no! Hopefully not 🤞🏻 it’s the wait that I hate, we need to buy our little boy a safety bed which are so expensive so we are hoping we get something just to help towards that and other things he will need as he gets older. I’ve seen some posts on fb where a lot of people haven’t waited too long and most are getting awarded, we provided every bit of evidence we had, I even did a SAR to get all of his notes from the HV and nursery sendco wrote a very informative letter to explain his needs when there. He’s a funny age so I’m hoping that doesn’t go against him xx

Got told my renewal is with a decision maker, how long does that usually take? Thanks x

Lurker here!

I was on these threads when applying for my kids.

DD's was up for renewal (NC > MR in 2024, awarded for 2 years from March 2024 in March 2025, so we only had a year before having to go again!).

Renewal date: 20.03
Received date: 13.02
Scan date: 14.02
Award date: 24.02

So it seems they do turn renewals around quickly.

We got a 4 year award this time too, which takes her to PIP.

Thanks for the reply, my scan date is 29/01 but renewal isn’t due until 1st week of may. So maybe I’ll wait a little longer to hear anything xx

My twins claims didn’t take any longer. NC last summer 22 weeks (which was the norm at the time!) and just did their COC for mobility and it was done in 3 weeks.
They keep twin claims together so the same DM will look at them and they’ll be done at the same time.

Kirstylou91 · 03/03/2026 11:27

Looks like they’ve lost my daughters NC 😔😢 I have a tracking number they signed for it on 16th Feb but still can’t locate form they said give it another 7 days whilst they still try to locate it if not got to re do claim 💛😢

ForKindDeer · 03/03/2026 12:13

Renewal stayed the same, decision this morning, renewal date was 1st week of may. Good luck everyone xx

They scanned it the day they got it well there’s no hope for my daughters then

VanillaTonka · 03/03/2026 15:26

Does anyone know where that at for MR’s? Mines early September, haven’t seen anything online recently about anyone having decisions in August or anything?

TashaxJ · 03/03/2026 19:46

SD NC 03/03

LBrooks77 · 03/03/2026 20:16

NC scanned on the 26th Jan. I then got asked to send in proof of I.d. Sent that off on 3rd Feb and haven't heard anything. Called to see if I can find out when to expect my driving licence back and they said it's not yet been scanned and uploaded to the system. I am now a bit concerned that it has been lost. They couldn't seem to confirm that it had arrived and stupidly I didn't do it signed for/tracked. Is it normal to take this long for the I.d. to be uploaded? Was hoping we'd get a decision soon as people seem to be hearing within 5 weeks.

Carson2504 · 03/03/2026 20:16

Renewal end date 12th may 2026.
sd - 21.01
decision 27th Feb
awarded again - same rates. Over the moon. Such an anxious wait. Waiting for letter as forgot to ask how long

Mamto3boysX · 04/03/2026 00:12

Positive post!!
New Claim for both my 4 year old twin boys
Scan date 10th of feb
Just checked my bank, and it looks like they have both been awarded middle rate care. I am over the moon, i could cry. This is going to help my boys so much!
I also cant believe how fast the decision was made x

Mamto3boysX · 04/03/2026 10:28

Just called up, my twins boys have been awarded for 2 years middle rate care. And decision was made on 27th of feb.
So only took them 2 weeks and 3 days😊
Good luck to everyone still waiting🤞xx

alot of the time it’s different access to different bits of information, some may be limited in what they can tell you.

i would take it that its with a decision maker, so they might be in a pile for you or there working on it now. Keep calling every few days for an update and escalate if they tell you different information. That’s what people on here have done

all the best
